Fried chicken not up to standard. Cooked too long so that meat was dry, skin was dry and hard.
Halibut was very good and cooked to perfection.
Affagato presentation not up to par and overpriced.
Food was good but a la cart items were delivered well before main dish, not the best arrangement. Beer tap was non functional and drinks were over priced. Thought things might be different than Family Meal but not. Doubt I’ll be back.
Excellent menu. Made it hard to choose what to eat. Will have to revisit.
Great upscale diner food. The duck fat fries and chicken pot pie fritters are awesome.
This experience was a complete fail. The hostess was polite and seated us promptly. That was the highlight of the meal. Our server did not appear for 10 minutes. If he did not write something down he forgot about it. We asked several times about GF preparation and never got a response until the food was served. We ordered several apps and salads. The deviled eggs were very nice - the best part of the meal if you don't mind paying $10 for two eggs. The beet salad decent with fresh arugula. The shrimp was overcooked, bland and spongy. The wings were not as described, just dunked in standard buffalo sauce and served. The accompanying celery had wilted under the heat lamp and was inedible. Our waiter interrupted us multiple times to clear app plates before we finished. He did not offer for us to first taste the wine and did not serve the female diners in our group before the men. The halibut main course was way over-cooked and bland. We had to ask for lemon to season it three times before they brought some out. The scallops were average and the "croutons" were soggy. We skipped dessert. 4 appetizers, 1 salad and 3 main courses with their least expensive bottle of wine. The check was $190 plus tip and the service just plain terrible. If we had not been meeting friends we would have left.
Good food. A little pricey, but that's what to expect for good quality fresh ingredients. I wish the politics of the Voltagio brothers wasn't in the back of my mind when I eat there. I hate to think I am contributing to people that didn't pay their bills. But they were the only ones open for brunch when I was available.
Showroom is a great place with great food and staff. I’m still not sure about the owner— the scuttlebutt is that he engaged in some questionable practices when he shut down Family Meal and opened Showroom. It has basically the same menu- which is nice because I really like the food.
Great food. The waitstaff was very nice and responsive but forgetful. I think they will get better over time. Food was awesome.
Great sport for Lunch or early dinner. Menu is pretty small but well executed.
Nice patio seating and plenty parking upfront!
Steak was over cooked and tough.
3rd try it was still terrible. Service was horrible no menus, waiter couldn't remember anything even though he said he wrote it down. Menu not up to date. Meal took 1 hrs, othing served together, served cold, waiter never checked back. Place was dirty!!! Never going back!! They were not busy....
Delicious food and staff were helpful with all tables, good team work!
We each got an omelette, mine had goat cheese and grilled onion, a really good combination, while my husband's sausage was unremarkable. While the texture of the potatoes and the fresh salad were great, most of the items under seasoned. Our waiter never asked us how our food was and I had to help myself to salt off the waiter stand. Also, the potatoes were crispy and creamy but rather dry and you couldn't taste the herbs. I recommend serving them with a sauce like a chimmichurri. Also, it would be great if they added some brunch cocktails to the menu.
I really wanted to love this newly rebranded restaurant but it just was not great. Food was good but not as good as it should be for the price. The service was awful, the poor server was in the weeds the whole time, give your hard working staff more support!!
Ambiance was awkward, really loud music. The place was clean but we will not be back. Had a similar disappointing time when the place was Family Meal, but the food was much worse than. Wish you well! The food runners and bussers were the best thing, efficient, polite and on it. Promote those guys to servers ASAP! For reference we had dinner there on a Saturday around 530ish.
Contrary to other reviews, the service was great for us. We’ve been here many times over the years and 3x as showroom. House cocktail menu isn’t great. Kids burger is cooked medium which seems silly to me for a toddler.
We ate there when it was the Family Diner and loved the food and ambience. After not eating at the restaurant for a few years, the interior looked a little worn, service was spotty, and the food didn't reflect the excellence that we had in previous years. Sadly, we won't be going back.
Our dinner was delicious and the service was excellent. The manager, Sam, was very attentive. One of us had an allergy and Sam made sure they knew exactly what they could order without any problems. She was great.
And the cocktails were very good, especially the McClintock gin drink with ginger beer. Crab cake sandwich, Nashville Chicken sandwich, and the Hangar Steak were all delicious. And the appetizer which was these little fried chicken pot pie balls... yum! We’ll be back soon.
Server forgot our coffee, we ended up drinking water till the food came. When we reminded them, it took forever (though freshly brewed), then we had to ask again for cream. Coffee is a priority for any weekend meal, pretty basic.
Otherwise, the food was excellent. Atmosphere was very comfortable and cool. Reservation went smoothly.
The best part about this place is the food!! Everything we ate was really tasty but the service was horrible. The waiter was nice but either new or incompetent. What should have been maybe an hr lunch turned into 2.5 hrs. Everything took forever, he forgot things we ordered, rarely checked up on us. I would order to take home but probably won’t go back.
Great food! Friendly & prompt servers! Perfect atmosphere for a classy but casual date night.
Well worth our 2 hour round trip from Baltimore :)
New name, but same great food as Family Meal. Lots of outdoor seating. Service was genuinely friendly, but several staff were clearly new in their jobs. The mistakes were minor and we trust they'll improve with time.
We had an amazing breakfast at Showroom. Outside seating, so did not get to experience the ambiance inside. The donut was so delicious and definitely Instagram-worthy. We also had the egg/cheese sandwich and added bacon & avocado - this came with the best hash browns I have ever had in my life, we made sure to ask the server how they were made. Also had the biscuits & gravy that was delicious and came with two sunny-side up eggs. I left stuffed to the gills. We aren't local to the Frederick area, if we were we would definitely make this a regular dining spot.
Came back as we had a nice experience prior week. We moved to the area recently. This time was a horrible experience. Waited 10 minutes to have someone come by our table, another 25 minutes to get our drinks. My wife’s entree never came. The manager who walked by several times, finally checked on us after we vented to a server. He comped the entree. Overall very disorganized! Unfortunate experience for a Voltaggio establishment. Might explain the name change of this place and Volt.
Went for Sunday Brunch and Omelettes were cooked perfectly and hash browns were delicious
Took my wife and daughter out for Mother’s Day. It was absolutely fantastic being at Showroom for the occasion. We remember them when it was Family Meal. The food, service and quality are just the same!! AWESOME job Showroom!! Glad you’re back!!!
Thank you so much for your fantastic review. We hope to see you again soon!
This is the second time I went to this restaurant. The first time was when it was called the Family Meal. It used to be much better. Now it is just average food for a high price. I went for Mother's Day with my Mom and son. The wrong food for my Mom was brought out and then it took FOREVER to get the correct food brought out. The service was slow, but the wait staff was friendly. The bathrooms looked old and kind of dirty.
It was our first time and overall it was ok. The food was actually pretty good but the service somewhat ruined the experience. Ordered cappuccino and when they brought it with no sugar we asked and waiter forgot and didn’t come back to table until it was cold. Basically most things we asked for were forgotten and had to ask multiple times for things that should just be common sense in the service industry at any location.
Service was slow. Coffee and Hot Chocolate was cold. Compote on pancakes was not fresh. Menu options and side items are limited and everything was an extra charge. Food was okay, nothing special, especially considering the price.
The food was excellent, came out quickly and we felt a good value for the price. Like many others have said, the service was just ok. There were a lot of wait staff around but nothing felt terribly organized. We either had no silverware or three people trying to deliver it one right after the other. It felt like staff needed more training and better communication. They were definitely trying though. We would go back!
Jose was friendly and hospitable, as was everyone. My sister, brother-in-law (& baby niece), and I wanted to get out for some fresh air and eats. We sat outside comfortably. We all enjoyed our food -- the greens could use some doctoring -- but we enjoyed the meatloaf, crab cake sandwich, and I had the Nashville Chicken Sandwich. So, that sandwich... it was hot. Not the spice level, but the heat. It's not a complaint. I appreciated having to allow my sandwich to cool off before enjoying it. The chicken was tender, and the batter was crunchy. YUM! Oh, and the Nashville sauce was a nice touch. It was a great experience for us -- but it was also great when Showroom was Family Meal. My family was VERY impressed with Family Meal, thought it was a great concept, but I am glad to see -- from my necked eye -- not much has changed since its transitioned to Showroom. My family shall be back!
Thank you STruss!! We loved Family Meal, too. And we've tried to keep the elements that made Family Meal so wonderful. We hope to see you again soon!!
Food was excellent and the service was great. Attentive but not overbearing service. Food came out quick and with nice sized portions. We had the crab cake, hot chicken and two kids meals. We also ordered duck fat fries for the table and the pot pie fritters. The Nashville chicken had a nice kick, but not too hot. It also had a sweetness to balance it out. Kids meals were nice sizes and the pot pie fritters were delicious. Glad we got two orders. We will definitely return.
Really tasty food. Very nice staff. Upscale food in a diner atmosphere, but I think they’re still in transition from the previous name. Will definitely go back!
Yummy food and good service
A birthday celebration was nice to share here. The menu is great. We loved the chicken pot pie fritters were fabulous. One of our party thought the pour was stingy on his drink. Two of our diners had to send back the steak for the right doneness as ordered. Nevertheless, the Food was tasty, service pleasant, and the manager followed up with us after the steaks came back.
Reservations made for 7:15 - arrived 10 min early, watched 3 parties who arrived after us get seated before us with either reservations after ours or none at all. After(patiently) standing there for almost 30 minutes, after seeing the 3rd couple seated, we complained to the manager. They certainly tried to recover from there with a round of drinks and an app on the house, but honestly it was ruined. Our waitress couldn’t have been nicer, but bar and food service was still slow. Food was good but overshadowed but awful experience. From what we were told, the only change in this “new” restaurant is new management on basically the same Family Meal restaurant. They need to engage with prior management to get their house in order - this is a total fail for me, we will not be going back.
Took my husband here for his birthday. Our first restaurant out since the pandemic. Food and service was great. Was bummed there was no cold brew.
The service was great but myself and my family weren't impressed with the food. The wings were very good. My daughter and i both ordered the wedge salad which we did not like. Also feel it's more expensive then it should be.
Disappointing and it certainly is not Family Meal.
First time at this restaurant and it was really enjoyable. Had the salmon with was perfectly cooked to my liking of lightly medium with a great sear on the skin.
Great service, great selection on the menu as usual friendly staff.
Option to eat inside, outside in a large tent. Easy parking
