Smith & Wollensky Boston – Atlantic Wharf
My husband and I went there for dinner for his birthday. We had wonderful service and the food was perfectly prepared and presented. The restaurant gave him the biggest piece of cake I have ever seen. It was decadent and delicious. A bit pricey overall but wonderful for a special occasion.
Loved it ,food was gorgeous and loved every second of it .
Leah was an amazing waitress- she was extremely attentive recommended the perfect portions for our group.
We were a group of 9 to celebrate a special Birthday - per Leah’s recommendation we ordered two dry aged hanging Wagyu Tomahawks and one dry aged Porterhouse along with various sides. Leah provided each of us Carpaccio as an app to make up for the long wait time. To celebrate the birthday we received complimentary chocolate cake and after my boyfriend proposed Leah provided us with champagne to toast the occasion!! It was such a magical moment - I couldn’t ask for more!
Sides and appetizers were very bland. Service was terrible. Manager never came over and checked on us as he did everyone else.
I don't if it was restaurant week that made the whole experience average. FRom the beginning checking in till the average service. I got the restaurant week menu the portions for the appetizer were tiny. The steak was very good. the waitress was so busy she barely had time to give us any service.
Fellow Gluten Free diners beware, not many options of gluten free items for an appetizer or dessert. For the price, I expect a gluten free bread option to be offered. The food was average, for the price I expected better.
We came to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were greeted with enthusiasm and a “congrats on your anniversary” right off the bat.
It was good and service was excellent. I felt they needed to do something more to differentiate themselves. I felt the atmosphere wasn't intimate enough - one big room and tables crowded in.
The waitress was not attentive. Our entree was cold. Food was over priced for quantity. Manager was very accommodating, however, the food was still cold, the flavor of the entree was nice but still not hot. Lobster Mac and cheese, lobster was MIA.
We really like S&W and have been there before. But the restaurant week food was not good. My steak wasn't seasoned nearly at all and neither was the mac and cheese. Her soup tasted like onions and beef broth. Very bland and boring. The mussels were good but there were literally 6, only 5 had meat. As a former chef in high end establishments, I get that restaurant week sucks. But the food suffered significantly. I'm glad I only paid $38 per person. Otherwise I would have been significantly more unhappy.
Went for restaurant week. We were rushed thru dinner. There was no side offered with your meat. The dessert wasnt very good. The waiter didnt even askbif we wanted coffee with dessert
I was there during restaurant week. The food was excellent but the entree did not include sides. The selection for a dessert was poor. The drinks were extremely high. I went to Capital Grill the week before and it was wonderful. I would rather go to Capital Grill and will recommend friends to go there.
Sat at my table around 7:50pm and not one server said anything to me until 8:15pm. Got up and went to a restaurant in North Boston. I was really looking forward to this place because it came highly recommended. Food looked good but service needs work.
Perfect for a romantic date night or celebration. My filet was cooked to perfection, exactly how I ordered it. Our waiter was so pleasant and did not rush us at all. The bread is delicious and unique.
After a winter in doors, we ventured out for a much desired evening. High expectations I had for Smith and Wollensky. Reservations were made for an early dinner. Expecting very little crowd to contend with. Upon arrival, we should not have been seated directly in the bar area, where the noise level was loudest. We also should have been asked if we wanted the full menu or the dine out menu. (I certainly did not come for the bargain menu). I had to ask that our seats be relocated to a more appropriate area, removed from the bar, and with a far better view. I also had to ask for the full menu, as well as a wine menu. From previous visits, these were standard procedures. However, once seats and menus were changed, our experience was as expected. We had an amazing dinner, and an exemplary server. I do believe Harold was his name. We left happy and in excellent spirits. Smith and Wollensky is my primary destination when desiring a true steak dinner.
Made a last minute lunch reservation after another fell through. We were welcomed warmly and shown to the table. Service was attentive but not annoying. Restaurant Week menu was diverse. Wedge salad was delicious, and salmon was cooked perfectly. Only wish they had offered a dessert. But we will be back for sure.
Sherryl was our server and she was amazing. Food was fresh and very well prepared. Service was outstanding. Great spot.
Service was great, food was average for this level of restaurant, no sides were included with the restaurant week menu which was odd. Drinks were excellent
Ate here with my best friend for Restaurant Week. Never been. The New York Strip steak I got was very peppery but I liked it. Everything else was good. Was disappointed it didn't come with a side, but overall good.
We went for restaurant week specifically and ordered off the special menu but did add 2 sides. My steak was cooked as I ordered it (medium) but my husbands steak was cooked rare when he ordered it medium.
Our other issue was the service. We arrived a bit before our 6pm reservation and were quickly seated. Our orders were taken promptly and we even received our appetizers quickly. That’s when the meal slowed. We waited 20-30min for our main entree and I noticed other tables near ours which also ordered the restaurant week menu after we did received their steaks before us. Finally the waiter stopped by to tell us our meals would be out soon and sorry for the wait. What he failed to notice is that my water glass (my only drink) had been empty for about 15min and I had to specifically ask for more water which is a pet peeve of mine when it is my only drink. Eventually our meals arrived from someone else while our waiter took drink orders at the newly seated table behind me. I fully expected him to touch the table and ask if we were all set with our meals. He unfortunately did not stop by and continued to not stop by throughout our entire meal so my husband was unable to report his steak was rare not the medium he ordered. He finally stopped by after we flagged him down to ask about ordering our dessert as we had been sitting for 20min with our fork and knife in the done position. We smartly asked for the check at that point so we didn’t have to wait any more once we were done.
I would give them another chance but I’ve had more reliably good food and service at other Boston area steakhouses.
Food was great. Service was courteous and friendly. Loved the lighting. Not too dark. Amazing carrot cake.
Good restaurant with great bread but overcooked my steak
Best steak I’ve had in a while. Management and staff were amazing. This place is awesome...
Great deal! $80 after 8pm. Food was delicious, wine pairings were great, and our service was wonderful. We had an amazing waitress named Cheryl, who made the night even better!
Service was a little slow.
The filet is just outstanding. Hands down better than the other steakhouses near the Seaport.
My wife and I had another wonderful experience at your restaurant! As always, we asked to be seated at one of the high tops in the bar area, and the hosts graciously found a spot for us. Nelson was our server, and he did a tremendous job...A++++. The food was exceptional as always, and we look forward to dining with you again soon!
Fantastic restaurant with great vibe. I ordered the dine in Boston menu which was great value. Staff were extremely welcoming, food was delicious and generous portions on the sides. Would definitely recommend and we'll definitely visit again when in Boston.
Went for restaurant week and very excited! Steak was pretty good so can’t complain about that. The sides were a mess though. Under-seasoned cream spinach and our Brussel sprouts were drenched in vinegar. Our server was also average - just seemed polite because he was doing his job - nothing more nothing less. I probably would not go back to this restaurant or recommend it.
Had an excellent experience. Restaurant Week menu was great. Service was above and beyond !!!
The food was excellent. Our waiter was fabulous. Thank you for a great evening.
Consistently great. Best steakhouse in Boston. Great place to sit. Excellent service. Good fund and wine list.
We went for restaurant week. We appreciated the menu offered, enough choices. The food was overall very nice, meat well cooked, sauces tasty and not heavy. The reason I did not rate it 5 stars is 1. the sides were not included in the Restaurant Week menu, and 2. my delicious sauce was cold (it was bringing down the temperature of the food). However, we appreciated the help from the waiter on choosing our sides. Overall, I would go back again.
Supposed to experience resturant week with reasonable prices but that didn’t happen here because it was just filet with no sides.
Food was very disappointing
GREAT experience!!!! From the minute we walked into the restaurant we were welcomed!!! The manager Chris couldn’t have done more to welcome us and ensure a perfect afternoon! Our server Leah was phenomenal! The Cesar salad and Smith and Wolllensky salads were delicious! The tuna steak, filet Oscar and filet with crusted Gorgonzola stupendous! Chocolate cake to celebrate our son’s birthday to end the meal outrageously delicious!
Thank you for a GREAT afternoon!
The Tomahawk Wagyu Ribeye was fantastic although the chef missed the mark on the correct temp. Kudos to the pastry chef for the incredible carrot cake!
The main meal was not what should be expected for the price. I got the Colorado lamb and ur was tough and not well prepared. I was so looking forward to it and was very disappointed. My husband’s steak was partially inedible. Both raw and tough.
Wonderful place for aged ribeye steaks and more. Great place for a special occasion. Limited but tasty wine selections. Vegetables sold separately. If you have room, we enjoyed the carrot cake.
The food and service are excellent.
