I am gluten intolerant. I ordered the rotisserie chicken and was clear that I could not have the sauce as it had gluten in it. My plate came out with the sauce on it... the chicken was dry and not worth the price. One of my table mates ordered a salad and asked for no bacon... the salad came with bacon on it. I’ve eaten at their restaurant in Boston which was top notch. This was not and with a $500 price tag for 4 people you would expect top notch.
The small plates were average... nothing memorable about this place...
Great food, great service, superb martini!
All I wanted for my birthday was a nice glass of whiskey and a top notch steak, and holy moly this was the best steak I've ever had. I might have raved to our waitress for 5 minutes straight about how ridiculously good the steak was. Perfect birthday dinner, they even comped the dessert which was an almost comically enormous piece of delicious cake. I'm going to be looking for excuses to go out for steak more often.
Steak tasted like lamb chops. Mediocre food.
service was quite slow. i think only 1 option if you liked fish. ( i know, it's a steak place ! ) i had asked for a quiet table, so they put us in the very large, sterile type over flow room that had no warmth or ambiance at all. fortunately we were able to move to the main part of the restaurant.
The wait staff were very good at making you feel welcome. There was an issue with the quality of one of the entrees and they were very accommodating and credited our tab for the cost of the entrée. All of the other apps, entrée, and sides were excellent.
Wonderful food with lovely waitress/waiter. Very relaxed mood to enjoy conversation.
All of us enjoyed the $48 Sunday Supper. We will be back again. What a great idea!!! Our wait staff was great.
We love coming, however the cost of the meal vs the cost of eating an excellent meal elsewhere, is 2-3 times more. Not sure the steak is that much better....
The restaurant had a mini shepherds pie on their small plates menu, and it was delicious. Our other dishes were good, as usual.
Great dinner out at S&W as in past years. Unfair to try and compare this new location to the history and atmosphere of their former back bay setting. But it was easy to get to and park. Friendly service. Great steaks.
Went for dine out Boston. Great menu and value. Brought the kids because they had a children's menu. Unfortunately they loaded my daughter's children's petite fillet and mashed potatoes with pepper and she couldn't eat it. I should have sent it back. Otherwise great.
Overall a good experience, but not like the Armory in Boston. Server was excellent, as was the Somolier. $160 steak came out under-cooked (was bloody red instead of medium rare) and was sent back only to return over cooked. Still would try it again given the lack of options for high-end steak.
This is the worst Smith & Wollensky we visited in this chain (we've been to 3 different ones in different cities), and we do not recommend it to anyone.
The food quality was way below expectation and the cost was too high compared to its worth.
We ordered a dry-aged bone-in ribeye, and it doesn't have the intensified aged flavor at all. This piece was particularly horrible and 1/3 was inedible fat chunks. One side has burned spots instead of proper caramelization. It was juicy and tender though, but any regular ribeye can taste like that.
The other filet mignon we ordered was ok.
We also ordered a lobster, which didn't taste fresh, tight and sweet, but rather soft.
Lastly, the desert - coconut cake was a disaster. The cake layers easily fell apart when we touched them, and "fresh-whipped cream" tasted way too creamy and like buttercream.
The waitress was nice and friendly.
In general, we will not visit this restaurant again.
Dinner was a disappointment. We expected much more from a premier steak house. Steaks was fatty and not cooked as ordered. Mashed potatoes were over salted and served cold French fries. Grill 23 and Capital Grill far superior in our book.
Had a lovely dinner here. The flat iron steak was great and I love their bread. Would definitely recommend the bees knees cocktail as well!
Excellent restaurant week lunch. Discrete and responsive service.
As usual, excellent!
Steak was not impressive at all, was missing seasoning. The Truffle Mac and cheese, bacon, and clam chowder was delicious! But you would think for a steak house that they would have an incredible steak but I had to add pepper to it, and was not impressed.
Great service and choices; very accommodating for allergy needs ; meat was well cooked and the steak Wagyu was very tender;
I found the clam chowder too thick but it was replaced by a delicious pea bacon soup,
Wedge salad very tasty and just the right amont of dressing on ir
Desert choices were great even without the availability of a chocolate cake ; carrot cake and coconut bread cake were great
The little french wine aperitif offered complimentary was the icing on the cake and sp was the cocktail
I went during restaurant week so it was very busy and they were not prepared. Long wait between courses, particularly for dessert and they apparently ran out of the planned dessert because what they served was not as described. So it was a little disappointing, although the rest of the meal was delicious and the server was excellent when they had food ready for her to serve.
Outstanding Enough said!!!
Food was mediocre - pureed potatoes, not mashed potatoes; seemed like frozen veggies in August- seriously ugh; cake slices were half the size of normal- (I'm fat that wasn't such a bad thing!); salad was adequate- not a spinach fan and no substitutions for Sunday $48 fixed price dinner; roast beef was mighty tasty; the service was perfect!!!!! but sadly I can't eat service. I'd prefer mediocre service and great food xxxW . The upshot- not a lot of value for a meal that cost 126 with no alcohol or 2 people !!
We visited during Restaurant Week. The portions were generous and prices were reasonable. The regular menu seemed pricier than other steak houses in the suburbs. All in all...a great meal and I would recommend it.
Clam chowder and chic cake!
Was very nice
Well done redo of existing space
The steak was perfect. So delicious. I can’t wait to come back and the service was great. I would recommend Smith and Wollensky to anyone. Every course was amazing.
Out waiter, Jean-Luc was amazing - attentive, helpful with suggestions, and brilliant with the birthday boy’s dessert!
Front of house staff were also great when we arrived.
Lovely experience for my wife’s birthday. Food & service were excellent!
Delicious food and exceptional, attentive service.
Our server, Amber, went over and above.
Great $38 three course meal deal!! Should have drink specials too
Enjoyed the dinner but would have preferred choosing from the full menu. The server was friendly but seemed somewhat inexperienced. We had an 8 PM confirmed reservation but had to wait several minutes for a table, even though there were several empty tables. We would have gone to the bar for a drink if we had known. We will visit again in the future to celebrate another special occasion. This was for my wife's birthday which we told the server and it would have been nice to have some kind of acknowledgement. I mention these so that you might make future visits for diners a more perfect experience.
Great food, great service, beautiful decor!! Touchdown!!
Usual high standards for food and service. A great go-to for a family special meal. All the S&W team members were friendly, gracious and efficient.
I very Rarely review a place because I know what I like. After seeing Mr. Smith's poor review I felt that I owed it to Smith & Wollensky to stand up for them and share my opinion of it being a fantastic restaurant! I had lunch 2X this week and the service by Liv and Ilya was on Point. The Diningroom manager Chris was very professional and he made sure to get me my Opentable points to get to 20,000!
The Food: Inventive and Imaginative updating Classics Like the Salmon Nicoise that had Awesome Olive Dust and Cured Egg Yolk! Cooked perfectly like everything else its hard for me to see how somebody could write a poor review! I am looking forward to eating off the dinner Menu as now this place is my new Favorite restaurant on the East Coast!!
Not impressed with this outlet of S & W. Service was extremely slow and frustrating.
The "hard ceiling" noise was bothersome, especially since a nearby table of 15-20 was celebrating something. We had difficulty communicating (despite our asking for a "quiet" table until around 9:15 when the place started to empty out.
Service was courteous and prompt. Food was fine but nothing to write home about. I've visited a number of "chain" steak houses (Capital Grille, The Palm, BLT Steak) and nothing stood out here. I ordered the scallop appetizer and the shellfish were overdone and overwhelmed by whatever sauce they put on it. It was bitter and I had to scrape it off the scallop to make it edible. I didn't finish the dish. Bread was fine but something one could find in Kroger frozen food section. My guest liked their ribeye steak and the other guest liked their lamb chop appetizer. Charred cauliflower was average to poor. Had two pieces and left the rest. Evening was pleasant but not worth the price.
Very costly meal. Service was very good and they split our dinner in the kitchen which was great. There were 4 of us and we all thought that the food was much too salty.
limited menu on Sunday's in the summer but the food was excellent and the service was top notch.
Fabulous waitress - fabulous food. We ate in the bar area and it had a great feel. Your gonna pay money for this place and it isn't in the budget for weekly or even monthly but for special occasions it is THE place in metro west.
We had an amazing anniversary dinner at Smith and Wollensky’s in Wellesley. All of the staff were friendly and professional, and the special attention our anniversary was given made the night even more special. Smith and Wollensky’s has become our “go-to” restaurant for all of our special occasions. Thank you!
