   We ordered Miso calamari salad, and the salad was bitter and did not looked fresh. Other orders were ok nothing special. The burger was very good.

   The food was a bit expensive but its good quality. My main complaint is the ramen... it was SOOOO hot. Temperature wise. I couldn't even eat it after an HOUR of sitting and letting it cool. Even had my bf try it and he burned himself too, so it wasn't just me being a big baby.

   I must have a different taste compared to other reviewers. The menu was limited. Some items on the internet menu were absent at the restaurant . No fish dishes. Too much emphasis on beef products. Cooking was average and price was high. Reviewers should give honest opinions and not give high scores when a restaurant is not deserving.

    The food was very underwhelming. I was excited to try it, however the presentation and the taste were just okay. The staff was very impressive - the bartender was serving all of the tables inside, the entire bar, and managed to seat incoming guests, as well. It was very busy, so the ability for one person to manage all of that on their own is incredibly impressive. The service was good, but the food was not very good. The food was very oily and lacked flavor. The KFC was very salty and the beef Korean tacos were bland and the meat was very chewy. Unfortunately, the food and the price point for what you pay isn’t enough to warrant the quality of food you receive. Happy we tried it, however it wasn’t enjoyable enough for a return trip.

    The service is wonderful and the food is delicious!! They have a great happy hour, lots of vegan/vegetarian options, and cocktails are creative. Highly recommend the dolsot bibimbap and the banchan appetizers.

    We had a 6 hour layover in PHL, so decided to head into town for dinner. I had never heard of Southgate, but reviews were good so gave it a try and we were not disappointed!! The menu had a nice variety of Korean specialities, and all sounded great so making a decision was difficult. We went with the bao buns (pork and mushroom), which were super light and very tasty, the Dolsot Bibimbap(stone pot), which had nice vegis, but could have used a bit more spice and the assorted banchan happy hour dish. The Banshan with zucchini, kimchi, cucumber and tofu ended up to the be the star of the meal! I am not a fan of tofu, but this was lightly pan fried with a good spice and was extremely yummy (not tough, chewy at all). We each had a glass of wine that went perfectly with the meal. Lastly, the service was perfect with good explanations to our questions and well paced. We will definitely be back next time we are in town!

    Been dying to try this place out and finally was able to make my way! Initially we were going here for dinner but ended up just getting apps and drinks. Service was a little slow, but the appetizers were so filling we didn’t even need to get a meal. We sat outside, so didn’t get to much of the ambiance but the outdoor seating was very nice. If you are into bourbon then the Seoul Sour is the perfect drink for you. I will definitely be coming back to try out some of the bigger meals sometime in the future.

    Nice, cozy restaurant to enjoy Korean American fusion dishes! I tried their vegetable fried dumplings and their dolsot-bibimbap (hot stone pot bibimbap). Their prices we reasonable and their service was fast. A popular place for locals and students alike! Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy Korean dishes!

    The "less Korean" dishes (which, for some reason, we mostly chose to order) seemed to be less successful than the "classic" dishes at neighboring tables. Excellent service and more-than-adequate ambience. We liked the hybrid nature of the concept, wherein Korean spices and accompaniments are used to kick up a burger-and-fries base. So in essence, a rare example when a "have it both ways" (neighborhood fast food meets Seoul food) actually works. Oh, and the kimchee Bloody Mary was killer.

    Went in on a VERY cold day and had nice beers and ramen, which was incredible. I don’t usually order ramen at a Korean place but I was so glad I did. My husband was also very happy with his bulgogi burger and fries, so this place is the best of two worlds - gastropub with Korean flair. For “dessert” we had a whiskey drink with soju and amaro - genius. The service was lovely. Can’t wait to return!

    food was tasty but very hot (temperature-wise) and spicy servers were kind and attentive but had too many patrons tables are extremely tiny and the door caused the entire dining room to freeze when opened would return if invited, but was not blown away by the experience

    We started out Sunday date here and the wood was great. My girlfriend ate her whole plate so that is something special. South Gate will be added to our summer rotation. Nice atmosphere and cool staff.
