Our first visit. My daughter has a severe dairy allergy and it’s difficult to have a nice meal out. The owner was kind enough to visit our table and review the menu with us to ensure we knew which foods my daughter should avoid. We had a great pre-Mother’s Day dinner. Loved the chicken! Definitely on our list to return. Thanks for a delicious and safe meal!

First time at Spinning Bones. I heard a lot of great things about this place. The food was great. No issues there. The service was great at the beginning and then I didn't see my server for the rest of the meal. We sat inside and most of the tables were occupied outside. It was a nice day outside. He was clearly focused on the tables outside and never came back to our table. Nobody did. I went and grabbed my own water from the guy behind the counter. This was a pre-Mothers Day celebration and was planning to get dessert. We obviously passed on that and I had to once again go to the host stand and flag someone down to get the check. It was unfortunate because the food was so good. I won't be returning.

We had a great time at dinner for my husband birthday. The service was helpful and attentive. Our server's recommendations were delicious. Food was delcious and the potions were generous. We're looking forward to going back.

I’ve been here 4 times and I really want to love this place because the food is fantastic. The issue is that the service is always slow and inconsistent. It’s as if they are perpetually understaffed. I’ve waited to post this after multiple visits, in case I caught them on a bad night….but it’s always the same. Again, food is awesome but unless they get one or two more people to help with service it will always be a difficult choice for me to return.

Appetizers were good, but overall the dinner we had was subpar. Didn't even get two bites into the Appetizers and entrées were already coming out. So had cold main entrées. Then kitchen staff are clearly not supervised as one guy kept coming into the dinning room to send texts and just stare at ppl. Really had high hopes for spinning bones, for the price points they offer you shouldn't really have cold and dry food.

Just our second visit to Spinning Bones, it was as good as the last time. We ordered the chicken bites, came hot and tender. We all tried the prime rib, which was excellent. So tender and cooked to a medium rare just as we liked.

Very nice Saturday dinner!! Three of us enjoyed a feast involving the Trip’s Triple, Yakisoba Special with Fried Egg, Corn Fritters, Rainbow Rice, Napa Slaw, Potato Salad, Cauliflower. I washed it down with an ice cold pitcher of Sapporo all by myself!’ All three barbecued meats in the main were fantastic as far as flavor and texture and went great with the beer. Spinning Bones is an outstanding choice for Alameda dining, a gathering and sharing place with friends and family, the more the merrier so their menu can be enjoyed to the fullest!

Had a good meal on what seemed like an off day for the restaurant. Corn fritters, pickles and chicken lickin’ appetizers were excellent, as were cocktails and the yuzu panna cotta. Marinade on the koji chicken skin is very good but the chicken was slightly overcooked, and my wife’s black pepper beef had a nice bite with the chimichurri but came out a little cold. Seems like they were short staffed and what could have been a great meal just wasn’t.

Busy Sunday dinner place. Glad we had an early reservation for 5 people. Attentive service. Food came within 15 minutes after we ordered. Delicious prime rib and moist 1/2 chicken. Will go back again but on a weeknight. Shout out to staff and cooks.

Really disappointed in our experience after reading such strong and positive reviews. To sum up our experience, we felt like we were ruining their day by being there. We decided to give it a try with some out of town friends. Immediately the service felt off. We waited for the host but they never came so a waiter sat us after we made it apparent we had be waiting for some time. (We also had a reservation) Our waiter was friendly but not very attentive. We had to flag them down for everything. Food was OK. The meats were good, but the Shishito peppers were undercooked and flavor’s underwhelming.

The meats all tasted nice and were tender but I was disappointed in all of it. All of the food, except for the deep fried fritters, came out room temperature. My son’s chicken was almost cold to the touch. The pictures of the food on the internet looked better than the actual meals that arrived to the table. Not sure if they have changed chefs but i would have at least liked to eat warm to hot food. maybe their microwave was broken? I drove a long way to eat here. I saw that they were in the michelin guide. I think michelin got this one wrong. Won’t be back.

Like many people, saw Check Please and added them to my "If ever across the Bay" list. It did not disappoint. My reviews are always based on the care a restaurant has based on multiple food allergies, namely, wheat, dairy, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, and sesame seeds. The chef, Lauren Lambert personally went through the entire menu for all that was safe. All of our food was delicious and plentiful! I definitely will come back again! The biggest issue was the seats. They are hard and unforgiving. At a restaurant that is at this price point, I don't expect to be sore ten minutes into my lunch. The food was really good, the music was good, and the service was on point. Just get some better seating and I'll come back more often.
