   The tofu and chicken salads were wonderful. The steak, pork and chicken combo was almost wonderful, and would have been if the chicken breast hadn’t been on the dry side.

   Busy Sunday dinner place. Glad we had an early reservation for 5 people. Attentive service. Food came within 15 minutes after we ordered. Delicious prime rib and moist 1/2 chicken. Will go back again but on a weeknight. Shout out to staff and cooks.

   Really disappointed in our experience after reading such strong and positive reviews. To sum up our experience, we felt like we were ruining their day by being there. We decided to give it a try with some out of town friends. Immediately the service felt off. We waited for the host but they never came so a waiter sat us after we made it apparent we had be waiting for some time. (We also had a reservation) Our waiter was friendly but not very attentive. We had to flag them down for everything. Food was OK. The meats were good, but the Shishito peppers were undercooked and flavor’s underwhelming.

   Ordered off the secret menu-perfect brunch item of house made Portuguese sausage, with fried eggs over rice. Good portion and very tasting. I'll be back to try more of their meats.

   Japanese-inspired American carnivorous menu featuring signature rotisserie meats. The beef, chicken, and pork combos were all perfectly cooked. Really impressed that the chicken wasn't dry! Would definitely come back!

   The meats all tasted nice and were tender but I was disappointed in all of it. All of the food, except for the deep fried fritters, came out room temperature. My son’s chicken was almost cold to the touch. The pictures of the food on the internet looked better than the actual meals that arrived to the table. Not sure if they have changed chefs but i would have at least liked to eat warm to hot food. maybe their microwave was broken? I drove a long way to eat here. I saw that they were in the michelin guide. I think michelin got this one wrong. Won’t be back.

   Like many people, saw Check Please and added them to my "If ever across the Bay" list. It did not disappoint. My reviews are always based on the care a restaurant has based on multiple food allergies, namely, wheat, dairy, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, and sesame seeds. The chef, Lauren Lambert personally went through the entire menu for all that was safe. All of our food was delicious and plentiful! I definitely will come back again! Thank you again Chef Lauren for your time and talent!

    Saw this in Check please bay area. I had to come see for myself. I’d recommend they clean up area from the public side of the cook area. And also maintain bathroom cleanliness.

    The biggest issue was the seats. They are hard and unforgiving. At a restaurant that is at this price point, I don't expect to be sore ten minutes into my lunch. The food was really good, the music was good, and the service was on point. Just get some better seating and I'll come back more often.

    Ths place is unassuming, so dont let its looks fool you. The food is fantastic, all the meat served was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend trying the food.

    The food was good overall. We had the Koji chicken. The chicken was moist and flavorful (I was surprised the skin wasn't crispier). The roti was very good and fresh. The chicken fat rice was good (I wish the rice had more 'chew' though), the chicken salad was ok. The oatmeal chocolate PB torte (not sure the exact description - ?) was awesome. I wanted to get a 2nd one to take home ( :) haha). The choc PB torte was better than I had expected - really good. The space is pretty and comfortable. The service wasn't great. They ignored us a few times when it wasn't even busy, never filled our waters, he kept flipping his head (to what looked like to get his hair out of the way) at the table (haha). To be clear, it wasn't horrible but, again, it wasn't good. We would definitely go back but, we're not in a rush.

    This is a restaurant for meat eaters. They do an excellent job with their specialty: rotisserie meat. The salad that came with the meat wasn't great. I'm not a big meat eater, and I like more options.

    Very tasty food. Portions were about right for average+ appetite. Nice selection of entrees and sides, though a touch on the pricey side. Attentive wait staff. Unusually busy early dinner crowd (6:30), but not as much later (7:30), perhaps because of being on a Sunday?

    The NY strip steak with smashed potatoes and mushrooms au jus was delicious. It came from the secret menu so be sure to ask for it. Mochiko chicken was crispy, tasty and plentiful for the price. Brussels sprouts were great but a bit oily to my liking. The ambience was okay as it was a chilly winter night with the front door open the whole time. Wait service was pleasant when you finally got him to come around. They could do better job with welcoming guests and check on them. Great place to get your meat fix in Alameda due to its limited restaurant selection.

    This place is a great value. The food is excellent. The meat was top notch. Dessert was absolutely scrumptious. I am not a foodie but I know good food. I will be back to go further into the menu. Well worth it!

    I had very high expectations going here and it was okay. The corn fritters as an appetizer was very good. All of the appetizers look very good. The hamburger was good but the small dab of potato salad was almost inedible. The chicken thigh sandwich which the waiter said was very popular had a brioche bun that made it a soggy mess. There are desserts which all look good and we choose the poppyseed bread with lemon curd and a sauce. This could be much better if they heated the bread and used a dab of whipped cream. I would go back but not order what I had before.

    My first time there, and we were all very impressed. Some really bold sauces and dishes. Brussel sprouts were fantastic, and the pork shoulder and pepper beef entrees were excellent. Our waiter did a superb job. I'll go there again very soon.

    Celebrated a birthday with a party of 7 outdoors- the food was amazing and the service was kind and attentive. All the meats were tender and flavorful, tofu and beet salads were a hit as well as mochiko chicken and rainbow rice! Very reasonable for the portions and quality of the food! Highly recommended!!

    We had wonderful 'standard menu' items this trip to Spinning Bones. If you go, always ask for the secret menu items, and be prepared to have a hard time choosing what to order. It was a busy night for them, but we sat down right at our reserved time! We started with a Cucumber Cooler and Strawberry-Watermelon slushee ... why not, right? Both have shochu as their 'additive' which made delicious cocktails, and an order of Chips & Dip We had the prime rib (normally a Sunday item, but surprise it was spinning tonight!), and the Trip's Triple - comes with rotisserie steak, pork shoulder and chicken, so you get some of each! The prime rib was serve with a potato gratin that was layered heaven, and their horseradish creme. Don't tell anyone, but I love the creme as a dip with their house made chips!! The meats are always so tender and flavorful, as they were tonight. Sometimes we get caught up in their specials that we forget about the standard menu items ... It truly is a place where if something sounds interesting you should give it a try - have never been disappointed with the meals. Christopher was our charming server, but the whole crew helps out and again gave great service. So good to see Mike, Lauren and crew ... wonderful meal and experience.

    We discovered Spinning Bones by accident, just searching through OpenTable for a place close by to where we are staying, reasonably priced, with a good menu and good reviews. When we arrived, we were promptly seated and the server brought us menus right away, explaining some of the dishes that are popular, and answering our questions. We decided on the chicken salad, St. Louis pork ribs, and the Goodie Sampler. The food came out promptly, everything was delicious, and the service was really good. Too bad we don’t live in the area because we would definitely add this restaurant to our favorites list! Their menu is eclectic, too, so there’s something for everyone. Give it a try……you won’t be disappointed.

    We were a party of 5 and ordered quite a variety of food and enjoyed everything we ordered. The 3 appetizers, although they were all delicious they were but a bit pricy. The bone marrow although dit was wonderful had very little marrow. Next we ordered 4 different entrees all were delicious and good portion size. We finished off with 3 different desserts and everyone was a hit. We will definitely return for another dinner.
