Very slow. Waitstaff Very transactional and not very friendly. Would disappear for a long tome even though only 3 tables there at prime time on a Saturday night. Super quiet with no atmosphere. Felt like a hotel lobby versus fun restaurant. Sub par food. Not what we experience at the downtown location which was our favorite. Was so disappointed as wanted this to be one of Our new favorites

Our server Seemed untrained and was not in the weeds just incapable. No one stepped up to help him. I blame the management for not acknowledging this nor coming over to apologize, etc. food was delicious. If we were forced to grat him the 18% bc we were a party of 6. $200 meal was a major disappointment.

We enjoyed the atmosphere and the delicious food. The service was outstanding and the attention to detail was very nice. It’s a great place for a nice dinner but not too fancy or stuffy, just great food. The brussel sprouts were crispy with a wonderful taste, the chicken fried buffalo was wonderful and the smashed potato tots were unique and a great addition to the honey fried chicken. We will go back to try some of the other menu items.

Upon hearing that this place had good food, we decided to try it for our Valentines date. It did not disappoint. The food was awesome! Had the most tender tenderloin. Ended the meal with a wonderful dessert called heaven and hell cake. It was amazing! We will be back here with friends!

It was a really great place. I wanted to try everything. I loved that they did not rush me thru my experience. I had plenty of time between courses and we really had a nice time.

Great variety on the menu--assorted price points too. The pork chop was the winner the night we ate, but we also enjoyed the tenderloin and sea bass. The fried chicken needed to be a little crispier, but had a good flavor. Will return!

Had a wonderful meal with excellent service. We had the Honey fried chicken and the Stampede chili pie and both were great. Loved that it wasn’t noisy and raucous like most Dallas area restaurants. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and look forward to our next visit.

We booked dinner reservations for Valentine's Day. We were escorted to a table that was barely inside the restaurant and handed two menus - their regular and their price fixe menu for Valentine's Day. We quickly decided to order from the regular menu and were enjoying our food when we noticed the couple next to us was looking at our food and came to the realization that they were on the second course of their meal and had only been offered the price fixe menu when seated. The server did try to remedy the situation by offering them the regular menu, from which they chose a couple items.

When our server came, she asked if we knew what we wanted to order and I asked if I could order a glass of wine first. We ordered our appetizer and salad at the same time and were told we would receive our appetizer first, which did not happen.

The food at Stampede 66 was excellent! I had the tenderloin and my husband had the pork chop. Both the meats themselves and the sides were outstanding. I would chalk up the spotty service to Valentine's Day, but they weren't that busy, so I think they are still having growing pains.

Overall, great food.

Even though it is pretty, the restaurant is inside a hotel and it felt like it rather than a nice restaurant. The food is good, very pricey for what you get. The drink orders are serviced from the lobby bar so that part of the service is way off. In short, if I were staying at the (Delta) hotel, I'd probably eat there but we won't be driving back there again anytime soon.

I wanted to love it. But they don't have the same menu as the dallas location did & were discontinued. The spicy bread and the chicken were incredibly dry. I was told the burger was good. The butterscotch pudding was the best part.
I think the staff was too eager to do something as they attempted to clean up our food before we even finished. One server brought ketchup for the burger then someone else tried to take it away along with our silverware just as we started to eat???
It was a little surprising that you could not park yourself unless you paid but there was valet parking for 2 hours that the restaurant would validate.

It was alright....No parking unless you pay or valet. Valet is free for two hours if validated. Restaurants interior nicely decorated in SW decor. Seated on time. Waiter was prompt and apologetic for slow service. The cocktails we ordered had to be mixed in the hotel lobby bar which seemed to take awhile. Food was good but nothing spectacular. It’s a new restaurant so there are some kinks that need to be worked out, but for the price we paid I’ll dine elsewhere

The food was great at Stampede 66 -- the restaurant is beautiful and we really appreciated a low noise level that allowed for great conversation. That said, service was a problem. There was at least a 45 minute lag between the salad course and the main course, which when it did show up was delivered plate by plate by multiple servers who were supervised by the waiter who took our order, and who weren't sure who had which dish. One of the main course dishes was cold so had to be returned to the kitchen. For some reason the vegetable sides were delivered to the table with the salad course, so by the time the main course came one had to be returned to the kitchen for a warm version -- and one side was missed on the order, so it too was delivered late. We will go back someday and will recommend to friends, but also recommend that they wait for a while to let service get more on its feet.

The food was outstanding. I think the service team is still working out new opening jitters. The atmosphere in the restaurant is a bit odd. I would say décor is sparse. It needs to be "warmed up" a bit.

According to our waiter, the restaurant is in the 'soft' opening until March 8th. So anything I state below may not be quite the same when they formally open the restaurant in a month.

Nice experience - for folks who recall the Stephen Pyle's Star Canyon days, this venue would be somewhat disappointing. The atmosphere and the decor of the restaurant is just an extension of the Delta hotel lobby decor. The open kitchen/preparation area leaves a lot to be desired if expecting a gastronomical cooking show. Another oddity is how the bar area is separated from the restaurant, necessitating poor wait staff not only travel to the opposite end of the building but the wait time and any missteps with the bar staff. My absolute kudos about the quality and taste of the pork chop, caesars salad, honey chicken, and the brisket.

Food was spectacular. Best BBQ around. Brisket was great. Veggies, salads great Forced myself to have dessert and it was worth it. Three negatives. Located in Hotel so parking is in a deck in the back. The bathroom was a long way from the restaurant across the lobby and down hallway. Service was painfully slow.

I love Steven Pyles cooking so much, anything he creates would likely be requested for my last meal. We were excited when this restaurant opened in Allen as we loved the Dallas restaurant, Star Canyon, and Routh St. What’s missing here is the ambiance. Gone are the witty TVs with funny Texas quotes, no more homage to Texas. Instead are plain walls missing life. The food is still wonderful, but the staff doesn’t know the menu as well as you’d expect. The appetizers were delicious - deviled eggs were amazing w candied bacon. I had chicken fried buffalo which was overdone. For desert, the heaven and hell cake went on a diet to only two layers. With a staff and decor upgrade, this place may become our favorite place in DFW. Right now, it’s just Meah..

Waiter was polite and hard working, however he seemed to know absolutely nothing about the menu. I know this is a new restaurant but they really should be allowed to see and taste each dish to have at least a basic understanding of what the food is like. Fortunately the sea bass that I ordered was very delicious! I tasted my daughters fried chicken and I was unimpressed especially for the price. It is served with fried mashed potatoes which she enjoyed but also it comes with a very weird sauce that smells like sone sort of Aus jus? We didn’t ask but we weren’t given any explanation of what it was. The wedge salad was a pleasant surprise and I would order it again along with the sea bass. Another family member ordered brisket tacos and he was happy with them. My family didn’t like the overall ambiance of this restaurant- it’s very pretty but it feels like a hotel restaurant. Overall I would go again because the food was good but I’d wait a while until they have time to work out all the kinks in service. If it isn’t improved in a few weeks or months I probably wouldn’t go again.

I'm hoping they are still working the kinks out, but the quality of the food did not match the price. The menu is ala carte for side dishes and bread. The choice of appetizers was odd and very limited. The entree choices were very limited as well. I had the honey fried chicken...listed as their specialty. While very moist and tender, it was blandly seasoned. If you want big portions of tasty chicken or steak with sides included at a reasonable price, stick to Salt Grass.

Disappointing if you’ve enjoyed the Dallas location. The sea bass entree was excellent, but the deviled egg appetizer and cobbler desserts were average at best. The real problem was the service. For an upscale restaurant, it’s definitely not what I expected. Getting drinks and appetizers took forever in a half empty restaurant. Empty glasses and plates were left on the table for long periods. For the prices on the menu, the wait staff really need to step it up.

We were excited to have a Stephen Pyles restaurant open in Allen. However, we were very disappointed with our dinner last Friday. We had the honey fried chicken. For $22, the plate only had two small pieces of chicken and two tater tots, a biscuit and a small mason jar of sauce. We had to ask the waiter what the sauce that had the consistency of au jus was. It’s supposed to be gravy. We also ordered the brisket. The brisket was so dry. For dessert, Pecan pie, which was no bigger than a tart was $9. The chicharonnes appetizer was delicious however, there wasn’t enough pimiento foam. We took the left over chicharon home and asked for more pimiento foam. They gave us a tablespoon of it. We’ve been to Flora St cafe many times and love it. We had the same expectations. All in all, we can not recommend Stampede 66.

The food was excellent but the service was slow. We had asked the server to split the tickets by couples prior to ordering. At the end of the meal we had to send the tickets back 3 times and they he still didn't get it 100% correct. This wasn't rocket science since we went over what we each had multiple times.

I never tried their old location, but I wonder if they toned-down the seasoning because it's now in a hotel, hence people not used to Southwest flavor levels. The entree was good. The tortilla soup though was just tomato, and the serrano pepper margarita was like Sunny Delight. The staff didn't quite have it together yet either. I thought it was nowhere near worth the price.

Hard to rate this dining experience. Drinks - superb! Appetizer - blah. Main course - VERY good.
Waited 50 minutes for our appetizer and bread, which we had specifically stated we wanted before the main course. Waitress checked on us multiple times during that 50 minutes, but seemed to be unable to get those appetizers to come out. Four other tables that arrived before us, left before we got the appetizers - which came WITH the meal. We were told we'd be compensated for the appetizers, but it was on the final bill anyway. I am trying to remind myself that they had been open only 5 days, but really - don't open if you are not ready.
