Never been disappointed having dinner at Sushi Kappo Tamura. The fish is always top quality! We went to celebrate a golden birthday.
Food was excellent. Did the 5 course tasting. Perhaps a little under filling, would recommend going with a la carte. Service left a lot to be desired, had to track someone down every time we were in need ( glass of wine, etc) of something which was very distracting. Mandatory gratuity made me feel like the drive for great service was not as necessary. Felt like they were phoning it in. Kind of a bummer. Food was super tasty.
Delicious food, server was enthusiastic and attentive
Had the pleasure of being served by the master taichi and his omakase selection. Amazing sushi, piece after piece. Each served and prepared to perfection. Do yourself a favor and try the full omakase. You will find new tastes and flavors you had never encountered before.
A great choice for anyone who appreciates the highest quality of sushi/sashimi (most/?all sustainable)and don’t mind paying a fair price for the quality.
The waitstaff and manager were wonderful, and beyond the food, I would come back for the lovely service.
We celebrate special occasions here because the food is impeccable...fresh, organic, delicious & the service is stellar! The staff are professional, friendly & fun!!! Love their attention to detail...the flavors are consistent presentation is awesome!
One of the most memorable meals we have had in a long time! We complete let our waiter Edward order for us and the result was fantastic. He taught us how to eat Japanese food differently and took us on a journey through the menu that we would never have discovered. He kept the price to around $100/person which was reasonable. The food here is meticulously prepared and melt in your mouth amazing. We did not leave a single morsel on the table and we have a new favorite place. AMAZING
Our server was amazing! Gave us outstanding recommendations and the order he brought them made for the most delicious sushi we have ever had. Really made our anniversary something to remember
We’ve been here a few times in the past and have really enjoyed the food although a bit pricey. This time was very good too, however, the service was not up to par. Our server seemed a bit cocky, which on its own would not be a problem, but not the case. First off, he walked away from us right in the middle of taking our order. Didn’t say a word and didn’t come right back. He also never checked on us once we received our food to make sure all was good. And I overheard him make a snide remark to couple next to us who only ordered a few low-cost items and had to leave early. Unfortunately, SKT adds a 20% gratuity to bill automatically.
We sat at the sushi bar and had the chef's choice omakase. It was awesome!! I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an amazing dining experience. The fish was really fresh and the presentation was outstanding.
Food was good. Found portions to be on the small side and price was on the expensive side.
The service was amazing and the food was delicious.
This is a favorite place. We have never had a bad experience. Our friends from Switzerland were blown away
Spectacular sushi! Service was oustanding and ambience was great.
Japan company’s VIP business MTg
Went for the omikase menu, and it was delicious. Was disappointed that we couldn't sit at the counter. Was even more disappointed to see the amount of children at the counter ordering edamame and rolls. The counter should be for omikase enjoyers.
The restaurant staff was wonderful and very accommodating. EVERYTHING was great. I would highly recommend the restaurant.
Chef Matt is amazing. Extremely good quality fish.
This is my favorite Japanese restaurant and I always recommend it to friends however surprisingly this evening the service was on the inattentive side and the food underwhelming. The creme brûlée was outstanding as usual.
Super fresh sushi and wonderful atmosphere. Some unusual selections, also. Service is friendly and professional and not overbearing. Some of the best sushi and sashimi in Seattle.
Excellent food; the best sushi I have had in years!
This is the best sushi in Seattle! Always the freshest, most beautiful fish!
Top notch at every turn. Sit at the bar and be educated. No detail is missed by chef, who still finds time for friendly chat and info sharing about local and far flung fish. But most importantly, so fresh and delish. Each omakase course is a delight. Everything was scrumptious!
We'll be back... So much menu
I come here because they offer sustainable seafood sushi. The food is sumptuous, the service is friendly and superior, it's quiet for a chat but not uncomfortably so. My go-to restaurant for getting together with friends and for special occasions.
best sushi anywhere. We come at least twice a month and wished we could come more. Black cod also our fav
unbelievable presentation. sushi so fresh. love the salads, the rolls. selection of wine amazing
Look be this place! Currently my favorite restaurant in Seattle. That is saying something!
First one in 3 years
Enjoyable! Would definitely go back.
Edward was amazing. He gave us the best experience and his very familiar with every cut of sushi and explained to us every tiny detail.
Food was delicious!!
Have been on numerous occasions. Never ceases to impress. Staff continues to go above and beyond. Not only among the finest sushi restaurants in Seattle; Sushi Kappo Tamura is among the finest Restaurants in Seattle.
Edward was great!
Fantastic sushi! Love everything about this place! Sit at the sushi counter!
We loved our dinner! The sushi chefs were very accommodating and kind, though we hadn't sat at the bar before. The oysters were fantastic and the creative desserts were a big hit as well (black sesame icecream, mochi with anko and chestnut creme brulle). I had the chirashi and was impressed by the freshness of the fish and by the little touches in the layering of the tasty ingredients.
This was our first time and it was recommended by local friends. The service was impeccable and we enjoyed both the sushi and the "Ippins". The geoduck appetizer with mushrooms and spinach was delicious and all the sushi was so fresh, each piece from a different region (NW, Japan, etc). Our server was fantastic and made great suggestions. Don't miss dessert. The yuzu panacotta was exceptional as was the chestnut/butterscotch creme brulee. The sake, cocktail and wine list was extensive. Can't wait to come back.
Appetizers and sushi are all outstanding.
Plus wine and sake bottles are half off from 5-6pm daily. Incredible quality, service and value.
The sushi was excellent and the sushi chefs very friendly. Everyone enjoyed their meal
