restaurant was great, food was delicious and service was fantastic.
Having visited 1 and 2 Michelin Star restaurants in Europe, our expectations were high....and were highly disappointed. Not so much because the restaurants atmosphere was rather old fashioned and dusty (Not as in dirty) and sparsly visited, but because of the food and presentation. Cooking with high quality and expensive ingredients is not an art, but in its accenture of flavour even from the most simple ingredient. The presentation throughout the menue was uninspired, if not boring) and the flavours especially of the Birds Nest Soup rather overshadowed by a strong chicken stock. None of the other ingredients (Birds nest, scallops, pumpkin) had a chance to develop flavour. Lastly the fried rice was also rather chicken stock laden and fatty. All in all did the presentation not in any course match the Online available pictures or videos. However was the chef not seen and we expect he was not there as we can not imagine he would have been satisfied with what was served this evening. The heavy price tag was expected but not at all deserved.
Business meeting with clients.
This place is very quiet, and although there weren't lots of floor staff but the service was excellent and very efficient. I am very impressed and will definitely come again.
Patrick was great
The food and the service is exceptional. Will surely come back to taste other items in the menu.
Food excellent,servant very polite
The restaurant is totally not worthy of three Michelin stars. It made me start to question the credibility of the Michelin guide.
The food tasted good but not as excellent as Michelin 3-star.
It was great time in Tangcourt. It will be there next trip
We both enjoyed the tasting menu. The baked stuffed crab was out of this world! I’ll definitely come back just for that dish. The baked local Spiny Lobster was prepared perfectly. The medium-medium we’ll finish on the Wagyu allowed it to literally melt in our mouths. I really enjoyed the creative presentation of the fried rice in lotus leaf.
I opted for the wine pairing, which being from US, was a wonderful experience being exposed to new wines from both established and up and coming wine regions.
The night we attended was very slow due to the ongoing protests in HK, we were the last reservation of the night at 9pm
was seated in 1 table of a 2 table private dining room. was quiet till the occupants of the other table came and let loose their little boy. ran around shouting the whole time.
They were excellent.
They got us great service and food.
It was good memory for us at HK
We will visit there again.
When it comes to Chinese cuisines, they come in different flavors depending on regions, in T'ang Court, it certainly make a good balance on modern and tradition. Enjoy its atmosphere and food. Will visit again when in Hong Kong.
So great for everyone, especially to foreigner.
I highly recommend T'ang Court to a friend, however, the price for what you receive is monstrous. How did this restaurant receive three Michelin Stars. I would give it two, MAX. I have eaten at many restaurants and had high expectations for the evening. We arrived shortly and the service was impeccable. The occasion of the dinner was both a birthday and anniversary (two people total) and for the dessert, we waited 15 minutes for two steamed buns to come out, ridiculous. Total cost for two people, $400. There are tons of other options elsewhere, don't fall for the hype.
Have a wonderful birthday dinner
Spacious, good ambience.
Overall service was good except for one female colleague which affect the overall impression.
Food portion too small for the price. Cold dish average. Hot dish very nice. Overall not really value for money.
Overrated Michelin restaurant. Food was just OK, nothing special.
Quiet place for meal with reasonable spacing. The food was not particularly impressive considering the price level, though it's not bad.
Very impressive, both service and taste. We will definitely return for more amazing food!
My family and I have tried many fine dining Chinese Restaurant ( two of our faves are also Michelin starred) in HK already through the years and sadly T'ang Court's food flavor did not meet our expectation. Being 3 Michelin starred we had very high expectation but it turned out to be very disappointing flavor and variety wise. Definitely not at par with Yan Toh Heen and Lung King Heen who are both Michelin starred too. Fook Lam Moon, Tsui Hang Village and Hutong who are not Michelin starred restaurants are all way better than T'ang Court and not to mention that their price is lower than T'ang so there's value for money there.
Generally a very nice experience but a few observations.
Had this been a restaurant in Europe it would not have been a 3 star Michelin establishmen (douubt it would even be a 1 star tbh) as the food was not outstanding in anyway but just very good.
Staff were extremely friendly and on top of things but the finess of a 3 star restaurant was missing (i.e noise of plates hitting plates when clearing the table, cuttlery being moved around etc).
No sommelier per say but just one of the waiting staff pouring wine with very little knowledge of the wine served.
Worst was the traffic of people who had nothing to do in the actual restaurant but came and went through a set of doors next to our table. Some noise came as well from behind the door which was odd.
Also, not the restaurants fault though, why do people sit with their mobile phones on when going to (what is supposed to be) a fine dining restaurant? Not very classy...
Sitting near the most crowed Kowloon, Tang Count feels like a totally different world. It's comfort, quiet and beautiful. Foods are great, slightly different from traditional Dimsun in a good way. A little bit pricy, but worth it for a 3-start restaurant.
No disappointments with the service and cuisines.
It was amazing food and service was fantastic !! Thoroughly enjoyed the meal , worth a 3 Michelin star experience!!
Disappointing food! The roasted pigent was too salty, the stir fry rice with chess was a terrible invention and combination...not worth the expensive price at all! Worst Michelin star restaurant ever tried!
Food and service are really amazing.
The portion of the dishes are quite huge for three people, I wish there could be an option to order a half portion, then we could try more dishes!
Good Cantonese, but I have absolutely no idea how it received three Michelin stars. To be frank the grading in HK and the region is very inconsistent and even puzzling at times.
We ordered the tasting menu. The highlights were the crabshell dish and the abalone with fried rice.
The crabshell was very innovative and sparks every single bite. It doesn’t taste fishy at all but the taste of the crab was perfectly set off by the creamy sauce and spring onion.
The fried rice at first gave me an impression of cheap design of putting a piece of abalone on top of fried rice. But after tasting the rice, I felt I was wrong. The rice and the sauce dripping from the abalone formed a perfect harmony.
It is a great relief that I can leave a comment about this restaurant. I tried stewed seasonal vegetables with Alaskan crab meat. It was quite hard to call it as a dish due to its incomplete taste. I would rather call it ill-matched chunk of ingredients. It was just the worst experience, that made me lose the appetite to cantonese cuisine during my entire trip.
Great food, great service in a friendly environments!
The way they service the Peking duck was really good.
Peking duck was amazing
Excellent service and delicious unique dim sum and lunch options
Tang Court needs not to be pretentious as a Michelin starred restaurant, doing simply what they do best in serving the best quality Cantonese food consistently for all these years. They have adapted their menu somewhat by offering a tasting to keep in par. Their attention to fine food has made dining experience flawless and enjoyable with little effort.
Fantastic food and service for a 60 th birthday - they also aaranged a fantastic black forest birthday cake with candles and a birthday greeting. We had a most enjoyable fine dinining experience.
Excellent food with high quality of service. Keep up and I will go there more often.
