Drawing strong inspiration from TAO Downtown in New York, TAO Los Angeles is a dynamic two-level space, complete with four private dining rooms and a large bar. A grand staircase connects TAO’s ground and lower level seating, creating the ultimate platform to see and be seen. The custom staircase includes round banquettes and Chinese daybed-influenced sofas. As in New York, a 20-foot tall Quan Yin statue stands atop a koi pond; using 3D projection mapping technology, Rockwell Group’s LAB designed subtle animations bring this signature statue to life. The menu, developed by Chef/Partner Ralph Scamardella, feature a diverse selection of Asian-inspired specialties, focusing on Chinese, Japanese and Thai techniques and ingredients.

I never tire of the aesthetic within this restaurant..it truly brings a zen to your being. The service is stellar as well as the food. You can tell how important the customer is by how many people acknowledge you and ask if everything is good. Another great experience for a friends BIG birthday...and he had never been to Tao either and loved it.

It was very nice, the staff was amazing and kind. I really felt like we were treated well. They brought our appetizers then cleared those out, our main course, then cleared that out and brought out dessert. I felt so boujee! I loved it. The bathrooms are confusing. Men’s on the left, women’s on the right. I would recommend this place and I’d go again.

Perfection!!!! I was overly happy with the service we received for my fiancé’s 32nd birthday. Our hostess made our experience that much better as well, I honestly forgot her name but she’s a Queen who knows how to treat her people. Will definitely return!

I almost talked myself out of ordering the duck, because it well, it is expensive and its for 2 people. Thankfully the person I was dining with also likes duck so we split it. It was so good and we really enjoyed it. The pork buns are a little spicy, not sure if its the sauce or the bun itself, but I was still able to eat them even though I can't eat spicy food. We also had the edamame, and the fresh salt sprinkled on top was a nice touch. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the large statute that has projections on it is stunning, as is the statue on the way into the dining area. The one thing I wanted to try was the banana pudding but I was so full I just couldn't do it. But someday I hope to dine here again. I was in LA to go to the Pantages so maybe I'll have to go down to LA again to see a show and eat here.

I gave my overall experience 3 stars because of the delay in seating, being told "there are two tables ahead of you" (I had a reservation), then feeling a sense of urgency to leave. Sorry I was already going to miss my movie because of the impromtu waitlist. I felt some items were worth their cost, such as the Miso Cod, however the dim sum platter, not a chance. My opinion.

First time we visited, we were very disappointed in service ( the waitress' attitude ) and the food.
The ingredients were perfect but the amount of sugar and salt were like in cheap restaurants.
We could not believe that so famous and awarded restaurant is so bad, so we returned the day after.
It was even worse. Difference waitress the same attitude.
We specifically asked for every dish we ordered if it is sweet or not. The waitress assured us that it is not sweet at all... Apparently it was even sweeter than the day before.

Officially the worst restaurant I've been on my last two weeks trip in California.

The Snapper in Sand was INCREDIBLY good. One of the best, most memorable dishes I can recall EVER eating. Truly spectacular and mouthwatering. On the downside, the ribeye was a bit tough and could have been a bit more tender. The ambiance was pretty cool and unique. Definitely a fun time, even if a bit pricey; glad I could take my wife and stepson there for Mother's Day dinner.

Very professional and friendly waitresses and welcoming front desks hosts brought my mom and my girlfriends mom for Mother’s Day luckily tao was opening their doors at noon greeted us kindly. The food was amazing every bite and the drinks were perfect! Thank you so much TAO we’ll be coming back very soon. The only bad thing was the valet it took 15 minutes to get our car didn’t seem very busy for them to take so long and lack the valet people were arguing infront of people waiting for their cars very unprofessional

Food was tasteful. Ambiance was great. Overall it was a good time. However, the place seemed to be understaffed for a Friday night. Our food took quite some time to arrive. And the waitress didn’t bring one of the items we ordered even after we reminded her. And yet they still charged that item on our bill. We obviously pointed it out and she waived it but it’s a sloppy mistake for a restaurant of its tier. I’d advised management to invest in a few more employees for the weekend so that the staff isn’t overwhelmed and they can better focus on satisfying the party they are serving.

The ambiance was amazing and I loved the decor!! That was part of why I chose the place. The food was a lot better than I thought it would be (extremely delicious) and the portions were great. I'm happy that I was able to find tasty meatless options. Our waitress could have been nicer, though.

My bday dinner was a success. Thanks to the excellent host and waiters. The table was never left alone, staff constantly came around to make sure we had everything we needed. It didn’t feel intrusive at all, it felt like they wanted us to enjoy our dinner. Overall, my experiences was amazing. I would highly recommend the lobster fried rice!

Cocktails and food were very good. The Miso Black Cod was fabulous! But the cost is very pricey. The restroom was not very clean for such an establishment and the toilet leaking.

Tao offered excellent food combined with great service in a visually appealing environment what more can you ask for. The ambience of the restaurant is great, and every table is a good one. The food may be a little pricey depending on your budget but inline for what you receive and definitely worth every dollar. I highly recommend.
