Taverna is a warm and inviting neighborhood restaurant that offers a truly Italian experience without having to leave Texas. Our Italian chefs strive to create the perfect menu using seasonal ingredients for their surprising entrees; every day we present a variety of northern Italian delights from simple comforts such as pan seared sea bass to delicate pasta and fabulous risotto.

Risotto is indeed our flagship dish. We only use Carnaroli rice – the “king of the rice”; thanks to its particular characteristics and firm texture the Carnaroli grain maintains its shape during the slow cooking required for a perfect and creamy risotto. Our broad offering includes truffle oil and Parmigiano risotto, bay scallops with home made pesto and an inspired Vin Santo risotto with asparagus and prosciutto.

The service was good when interacting with the server. However, a lot of wait times for drinks and appetizers after our requests. The food was good but my experience at Taverna in Austin was a lot better.

Gnocchi and Filet were phenomenal, same for the meatballs. Burrata risotto was a little heavy on the onion. Our waiter was knowledgeable and thoughtful. I also really appreciate that we weren’t rushed even though it was a Saturday night and it was packed. Will go back!

Worst Caesar salads ever. Dressing was watered down Mayo with no garlic, Parmesan or seasonings. Served with a single stale cracker and less than 1/8 oz sliver of Parmesan.We spent $97 for 3 salads, 1 iced tea, 2 cappuccinos and 1 panacotta. Our server was nice and the dessert was good but the salads were awful. Won’t be back. I rarely give bad reviews.

I met a friend for dinner last evening. We frequent Taverna because the service and cuisine are exceptional. We were there early so we beat the Tuesday night crowd taking advantage of half price bottles of wine. We each had a cocktail to get the palate ready. I enjoyed vegetable primavera. My friend had chicken parmesan. Both dishes were delicious. Highly recommend!

This was a birthday lunch with my daughter - the staff and food were beyond expectations. Several people came to check on our service and if we needed anything. Had a great little convo with the GM who them surprised my daughter with a cake and staff song . Love Taverna and will be back again soon !

Taverna used to be a favorite spot for us, but recently things have changed for the worse. Not sure if it’s new management or new chef/kitchen staff, but the food has gone downhill. We had burnt zuchinni chips, mediocre pizza, and the ravioli (our usual favorite) was cold with no flavor. They also took my favorite salad off the menu. Such a shame because it used to be a sure bet place for us. It was especially disappointing today because we were celebrating our daughter’s birthday.

Tables are very close together. The waiters had difficulty negotiating around tables. The restaurant tends to be warm as they have an open kitchen and a patio area that is only enclosed with heavy plastic. When the weather is cool, it is pleasant and they sometimes open up the plastic for a breeze. Unfortunately, we were there when the outside temperature was nearly 100 so the restaurant was a tad on the warm side. The food is very good, and considering how close the tables are, it is relatively quiet while dining. The biggest negative to this restaurant is the restroom situation. They only have two individual restrooms. Parking garages are awful at Legacy West. Best bet is to valet park.
