Overall, the experience was great! The ambience was nice, albeit the noise level was a little loud for my taste. The restaurant was clean - 100A if that gives you any indication. The staff was friendly, informative, and attentive to our needs. And most importantly the food was interesting and delicious - the wedge salad had pork belly instead of bacon bits - really nice touch. The wagyu steak and flounder were cooked perfectly and really good. My wife’s cocktail (the Hemingway) was really nice. It was a birthday celebration, and they topped off the night with a complimentary dessert! We’ll definitely be back!

The chef and wait staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious! I highly recommend the harissa shrimp and grits, chicken katsu, and either of the fish selections.

We were so excited to try the Alden. We sat down and ordered drinks. One person in our party sent their wine back because it was off. The server told me that my drink would be delayed because they were waiting on the dishwasher to finish for there to be an available glass. We ordered appetizers and the server initially brought the wrong one. The appetizers we did order were very good and the presentation was nice. After the server cleared our appetizer plates, she told us that our entrees would be delayed because the restaurant “had a lot of tasting menu customers” that night and they were working on serving them first. While we were waiting, the server never checked on us. Our water glasses were empty and we hand to flag her down to order a second drink. When our entrees did finally arrive, an hour and a half after we first sat down, my salmon was not cooked in the middle. I’m not talking medium - it was raw. The server noticed I didn’t eat it and asked if anything was wrong. I told her it was undercooked and she made a sad face but that was it. Other people in our party ordered the lobster roll, which was overcooked and tiny, especially for the price. We ordered desserts and those were tasty. At one point, another server, or perhaps the manager, came over to talk to us. I don’t know who he was because he didn’t introduce himself. Instead, he asked if everything was ok, and since we were finally eating our entrees, we all nodded, and he left. Overall, had the food or service been better, I would consider going back. Since both were bad, we won’t.

What an excellent experience! I booked another reservation while I had lunch! Food is so flavorful. Presentation is beautiful. Variety in menu offerings. Attentive service and the chef cared about our experience. So many good things to say and can't wait to return.

Food: superb. Roasted mushrooms, lamb larb and the best wedge salad we've ever had were unique, imaginative, beautifully prepared and served. The coffee panna cotta was an amazing dessert. We appreciated the low noise level, too. The Alden was busy the night we were there, but you could still have a conversation without shouting. A great restaurant for a special occasion.

Went for birthday dinner and had a delicious duck dish, salad, and salmon! My husband’s steak was a little chewy (despite appearing to be cooked medium) but everything else was delicious! Service was top notch. Didn’t love the closeness of the tables but personal preference. Cocktail and mocktails were delicious. Was hoping for a small birthday dessert but not a big deal. Overall, very good!
