    Lovely evening. Relaxed atmosphere, excellent and friendly welcome/service. We had the special of sea bass, asparagus and new potatoes, all for £20. We’ll be back.

    The venue is excellent and the locals have done a great job in refurbishing the pub. The food was a good quality pub food. Probably too much gravy on the beef and could be better if served separately in jug.

    It was absolutely gorgeous. I had the fish pie, and my husband had the pie, piping hot, fantastic service, and just an all round wonderful setting. The team there is so attentive, and and its just a very welcoming community pub.

    Great food at a good price. Lovely staff and a man on a piano - what’s not to love? The village is beautiful and the church is well worth a visit.

    I had the steak and ale pie it was fantastic, tender and so tasty. Too full for a pudding. Karen had the fish pie and said it was as good as she cooks (which in my view is as good as it gets)

    I very rarely write a review, but our wonderful experience at the Black Lion made it impossible not to gush! 5 stars all round. The food was absolutely gorgeous, incredibly done and so flavourful even on a busy Mother's Day, complete with a little goody for Mum. The atmosphere is so friendly, with the owner more than happy to have a chat - we love a woman owned business! It has the loveliest historical vibe - the interior design with beautiful dried flowers and rich greens made me travel back in time to a simpler and beautiful era (sans horrible medieval diseases haha). It felt busy but not crowded, and they even have a lovely little eco friendly shop at the back. I'll be coming back every chance that I can.

    I’ve had a number of meals at the Black Lion now, but most recently on Mother’s Day when my parents joined me. We were treated to a friendly, warm, welcome, the table decorations and gift for my mum were a lovely touch! The food was delicious and really well priced, and the beer is always good! I’ve not had a bad meal or experience at the pub to date and I’ve been many times! I’d strongly recommend it!
