Great service, fun vibe, good wine. Cannot recommend the Chef’s Tasting Menu. The food choices were uninspired and several courses were not properly cooked. The waiter agreed that the pork belly was undercooked. The shrimp (only two) overcooked. Rice in the rice pudding dessert was crunchy. Smoked fish was very good! Although my dining experience was not good, I would like to try other dishes I saw being served to other diners. The waiters were enthusiastic and knowledgeable and I had an enjoyable evening, though I had to go somewhere else to eat.

Our waiter had good energy… engaging…only overlooked a cocktail refill… I ordered the vegetarian bowl…textures of black bean fritter & grain were too similar… unpeeled squash seemed more fitting for autumn/fall… greens were stringy… BUT the other 2 people Ordered perfectly & raved. If I had made another choice I’m sure I would’ve been pleased. Food presentation just ok. Enjoyed the vibe… Visiting from Birmingham AL…big foodie town…my husband is a great cook… I have high expectations. Enjoyed our evening at The Blackbird nonetheless.

Slightly disappointed in the cold smoked pork chop. Tougher than it should have been. The vegetarian beef wellington was a hit with my wife. Probably will look for other dining options next time we are in Asheville.

Loved the food and the service (thanks, Shawn!). Salads we’re very fresh and tasty. Entrees we’re well prepared, delicious and plenty big enough. Drinks and wine were also very good. Didn’t have room for dessert.

Hello, we have a large chunk of our menu dedicated to vegetarian and vegan options. If you missed it, it is labeled "Vegetarian and Vegan". 4 of our 5 snacks are vegetarian, 2 of our 5 starters are vegetarian, and 5 of our 11 entrees are vegetarian. If that is considered 'meat oriented', my mind is blown. Hope to you see you soon!

We saw great reviews but last night they were off their game. Wife’s trout was good but my steak was way over cooked and so salty that I drank the entire bottle of water on the table. The coconut cake was really dry and the servers graciously took it off the bill.

What a lovely surprise this restaurant provided! Our table of 4 were extremely impressed with the delicious entrees, service and ambiance. What a joy to be able to dine and hear each other without having to raise our voices. We will most definitely return to dine at Blackbird in our next visit.

I don’t recommend this place. The food was meh, and the service was not great. Felt like we were being rushed. Our waiter came and went over the menu then asked about drinks. My wife and I asked for a few minutes to look. He gave us maybe 45-60 seconds and was back. We asked for more time. And again less than a min went by and he was back. The food was not spectacular. Our salad tasted like it was pre made in a fridge. My croutons were cold and a little stale. The steak was thin and mediocre. I have had better steaks at Texas Roadhouse. Again the waiter, before we even took a bite was there to ask how it was. I don’t recommend this place.

Overall everything was fantastic!! The food and drinks delicious. The server was great. My only complaint was the coconut cake. I had this cake several times pre-covid and it was outstanding. I would dream of this cake. However, the one I tasted this time was far different. Yellow cake instead of white, two small portions, and dry. Disappointed- Please go back to the original!!! :)

Took our mom for Mother’s Day. I think she enjoyed the graduates and their conversations as much as our company. She sure loved the shrimp and grits. Couldn’t make decisions so over ordered but all was excellent t. Very informed server. He did a great job.

The medium well done filet came out very rare. When it was brought back , it was still rare. It was also a terrible cut of meat. The corn fritter was more crust than corn…. Maybe we just ordered the wrong things. Blackbird came highly recommended. We were not charged for the filet, but my husband did leave hungry. Even the beet salad was less than impressive.

Hello For some reason grass fed tenderloin are sometimes not as tender as we hope and we can't tell till someone gets one, this was the case with one of the Filets that was cut last night and I have rectified this issue by throwing out the filets that were part of the tough tenderloin. I am sorry you had to deal with this and I would like to offer you a gift card. Please call the restaurant and ask for Mike the chef/owner or Brenden the GM and we will make this right.

Fantastic Birthday celebration lunch while enjoying the people watching from my table. Rainy afternoon didn’t deter the Asheville crowd. Noticed the theater across the street and caught a movie after having a wonderful salad with blue cheese and pears. Service was great and enjoyed vegan chocolate cake for desert. I will be back with friends.

This restaurant was recommended to me by someone who has dined there often and works in Asheville occasionally. It was very disappointing. Both our salads were mediocre at best and my friend was so disappointed she complained about it and they took hers off the bill which was quite nice of them. My shrimp add on to the arugula salad spelled old and tasted a bit off. That afternoon I had stomach problems.

As good as advertised. Party of three, and we did some sharing. The ribeye was decadent, trout risotto was perfect, and the Wellington was perhaps the best vegetarian dish I’ve ever tasted. Also enjoyed squash bisque, jalapeño cornbread, and two deserts. The pecan blondie, and the best piece of coconut I’ve ever put in my mouth. This place will make you slap yourself it’s just great!
