The Classic Cafe at Roanoke
The Classic has the best food and service. They offer a wide range of delicious dishes.
One of our all time favorites. They never disappoint. Worth every penny.
Menu makes great use of their private garden (and fig tree)! Service was excellent. Pricy but you get a wonderful meal, attentive service and lovely ambience.
Excellent food and service. I was able to cut my ribeye with my fork!
Excellent food and service. So much quieter than most trendy restaurants these days. You can actually have a conversation here. We have eaten here on a regular basis for over a decade. It remains my favorite place to go.
Our second visit here after not loving it the first time. It boggles our minds that this place gets such rave reviews. It's very average at best. The old fashioned atmosphere may appeal to some but so much to us. Our party of four was equally underwhelmed with the food in regards to quality and portion size for the dollars charged. On a positive not our waitress provided excellent service. We won't be back. i don't get what's with these Roanoke restaurants??? They need to up their game for sure because it's a really cool place that's on the rise.
I went for restaurant week. This time, it was a little more deceptive. There is no special menu. You buy the 2 for $20 and they add an extra $5 to make it Restaurant Week. I had not caught that in years past. I will not be back fro Restaurant Week in this Restaurant.
Not their best night. But to their credit they did everything to make it up. It took 1.5 hours to get dinner. They comped the meal making us feel good about coming back and giving them another try.
Always absolutely perfect! Thanks to Chef Charles for the fabulous duck and gazpacho. Thanks to Francis and Julie for the amazing service!
Such a nice place for a quiet , quaint meal. Good fresh food from the garden and cooked perfectly. Celebrating our anniversary but happened upon The Restaurant Week menu and wasn’t disappointed. Would have given all 5 stars but pesky small knats buzzing about the table distracted us.
This establishment is an absolute fine dining gem in the 'burbs. Service is excellent, food is excellent and approachable, ambiance is excellent. Can't say enough.
If you're not local, make it a point at least once to get out here for a special occasion.
A little pricey, but the setting, personal service by Kailey and Francis, as well as the quality of the food, made it a dining experience that I would do again.
Quaint setting in a quaint town! Portions are probably what we all should be eating ~ a little small. The fig bread pudding was the highlight for me!! Our waiter was sweet, friendly and knowledgeable.
Never disappoints - we love Classic!!!!!
This café never fails to impress. Warmly greeted upon arrival, we were immediately served and carefully attended. The menu is varied and interesting. I had the house salad which - my one quibble - arrived dressed (actually, OVERdressed) rather than "dressing on the side" as requested, followed by the house smoked salmon with gluten free crackers. Delicious, light and very appreciated to have a gluten free offering! My companion had the peach gazpacho which I did not taste but she pronounced "delicious," followed by their fritter. She seemed to enjoy the fritter but it looked - true to its name - like a big, amorphous fried blob and was served awkwardly in a bowl rather than on a plate. The dining room is quiet and beautifully appointed with original artwork (which also happens to be for sale). A lovely destination for a very nice meal.
IT'S AN ICON IN THE TOWN WHERE DINNING HAS NOW BECOME IT'S MAIN ATTRACTION. GREAT FOOD, FRIENDLY AND EFFICIENT STAFF, ALWAYS A GREAT EXPERIENCE
Always enjoy going to Classic with friends for great food, wine and music. Waitstaff is very attentive and professional. Love the additions to the menu from their garden.
As always, good ambiance, well prepared food, warm friendly atmosphere & good bar. Our waiter person was new & somewhat uninformed about the wine selection & some menu items, but gracious & attentive. With more experience she'll be excellent. I hope we get her next time.
Always enjoy white table cloth dining. Portions were not too big and not too small. Very rich flavor, so my wife and I were completely satisfied. Nice cocktail list. We had cucumber gin martinis and they were stiff but delicious. Great wine selection for any price. I love red Zinfandel and found a great blend of 60% Zin with Pinot noir and Malbec making up the other 40%. It was called angels and cowboys. Delicious! Cool abstract art on the walls.
The service was amazing - exactly on point in every way. The okra appetizers were delicious, and I love the uniqueness and variety of the menu!
This was my first time at The Classic Café and it was worth the driving hassle--the junction of 377 and 114 is a nightmare. Kylie, my server, was pleasant and professional. I had the rainbow trout which was delicious. It was served with pea pods, grilled vegetables, and mashed potatoes. The sides were all good except for the potatoes which needed additional seasonings. I plan to return when I need to transact business in Southlake. Roanoke is on the way.
As always, my dining experience at the Classic was excellent. My friend enjoyed a steak while I enjoyed the three course dinner including the Classic salad, beef tenderloin medallions and Texas sheet cake. All three courses were excellent while the dessert was superb. My friend agreed. The service was great too as was the quiet informal ambiance. Owner Curtis Wells and his team always do a great job making patrons feel at home with excellent meals and a fine place to converse. Its one of the very best restaurants in the area. Highly recommended.
Appetizer of shrimp and mushrooms escargot style in puff pastry was fabulous
I would not call the noise factor “energetic”. It was hard to have a conversation. The food was good; German and French influences. Nice, wide array of food items.
Wonderful food and a nice menu. Very good service. We have eaten at this restaurant for years and will continue to do us.
We've been regular customers for several years and have always been very pleased. We've set a new goal of trying everything on the menu :)
Excellent food and service!! The shrimp and okra fritter was amazing and the pork jagerschnitzel is my new favorite crave. Slightly loud and slightly cold temperature, but I will definitely be back with a sweater!
Wonderful as always. Special thanks to our server Julie who always takes great care of her guests.
This was our first visit to The Classic Cafe. We have lived in the area for many years, but felt it needed to be a special occasion to go. ( This is not your run-of-the-mill $15 per plate kind of meal.) We chose our anniversary, and we were not disappointed! The service was excellent, the food was amazing, and we will choose another special occasion to go again in the future.
Went for a nice family lunch (party of 5). Every part of the meal and experience was perfect. Quality and seasoning were flawless. Waitstaff was knowledgeable, and attentive, yet gave us our privacy to visit. Amazing meal.
This is a hidden gem! Skip the chains and come to Classic Cafe!
We have been customers of The Classic Café for many years. The reason we keep coming back is A) the chef is phenomenal, B) Francis and the entire staff treat us like family every time we show up, and C) they stock a great wine list and you can always find something in a price range that suits the evening.
"The Classic" is a bit off the beaten path but it should be a place that anyone in the Ft Worth, Southlake, or Grapevine area should truly seek out!
Great fresh, local food. Great service. They treat you like family.
We have been to The Classic Cafe at Roanoke many times and it ALWAYS impresses both with the service and the food. There is absolutely no reason to journey to Dallas for a fine restaurant when you have the BEST right here in Tarrant County. The food is superior, fresh and the service is perfect. Our wait person did not 'hover' yet she was always around if we needed anything. I highly recommend. We will return again and again. My tidbit to a potential diner - DO NOT wait for a special occasion. Go today you will not regret it.
Hands down the best and freshest food. The service is top notch!
Fantastic service. Intimate setting. Wonderful dinner options. 3 of us had the Duck special. Oh- fresh fried okra. Cocktail list is unique and worth looking at. Just recommended to a coworker asi type this. We will go back
Great experience! Food was amazing and service was great.
Have never had a bad experience here. The food is superb, the service impeccable and it’s quiet. We could actually converse without yelling. Very pleasant evening. The wine list has improved.
Francis always steals the show and makes a perfect experience!!
The food is very good, but certainly doesn’t warrant the prices. Almost $50 for a ribeye steak is ridiculous for the steak they served. Our bill was over $450 for 4 people, which would be fine-for an amazing experience- but it was just an average meal- more like a $25/ steak dinner. The musician couldn’t be heard from the other room and the restaurant was musty and dark.
