THE GRILL is a mid-century American Chophouse created by Mario Carbone, Jeff Zalaznick and Rich Torrisi. It is housed in the only landmarked restaurant in New York inside the iconic Seagram Building and takes great inspiration from it's surroundings.
As it's name implies, the grill is meaningful to the restaurants style, service and food. Major Food Group takes great pride in celebrating the tradition of great food and great fun in one of the world's greatest restaurant spaces.
What Insiders Are Saying
The Grill is the revamp of the legendary Four Seasons restaurant, run by the people behind Carbone. It’s very similar, very expensive, and worth it.
The ambiance was great, the food was very good. I just wish the service had been a little better. I felt like we had to flag a waiter down to come to our table too many times.
The food, the decor and the service were perfect! I took the sea bass and it was delicious!
Just wonderful!!!!! This is the place where you want to come back!! Thank you for your professionalism.
Our annual visit for our anniversary. Wouldn’t spend it anywhere else
Impossibly loud music piped in over the chatter coming from the bar makes for a very uncomfortable experience. Wait staff was condescending - maybe because we were three “mature” women. Raw oysters were less than tasty but rest of meal - chateaubriand with sides-were well flavored. Sommelier helped select excellent bottle of wine.
Excellent food. Excellent service. Pricy but well worth it
Hi, if The Grill is not for you, I’m sorry. I’m going to have a great time here, you can too. It’s a cool place with a
What an iconic restaurant. A throwback to another time, where elegance reigned. Fabulous food, power crowd, it is still and will always be a landmark in New York.
Always top notch and perfectly executed
excellent over the top experience
Fabulous food, impeccable service and excellent wine list
We went for a special occasion and the entire experience was excellent. The prime rib is perhaps the finest I have ever had. The crab louis salad is an excellent starter to share.
Food was OK, restaurant was overpriced. So so service
We had the salads, duckling and pheasant. It was all great! The pheasant was a bit over cooked it otherwise the dish was delightful. Duckling was incredible!
Ambiance was pretty lively and pleasant,
The food is super good.. Their crab salad is the best I ever had! Also the pasta of the day which happened to be ravioli stuffed with lobster, shrimps and halibut in tomato sauce was delicious.
Food was salty
Crab Cake & Prime Rib. Excellent!
Yamulet, Ben and Adam were absolutely amazing and treated us so nicely!! Thank you for having us, we hope to be there again soon.
Beautiful and perfect dinner spot for a date ir intimate gathering
Brilliant service and food. Wonderful staff. Can’t say enough. Perfect evening
Thus restaurant is simply outstanding. Everything we had was perfect and worth every calorie, the filet, crab salad, scallops starter to name a few. The service almost feels like you have the ‘team’ all to yourself. Will definitely be back.
The lighting was way off, which had a big affect on the overall ambience. It was too dark and the Pool Room felt sad and not cozy and luxurious like it used to.
Minimal service, actually had to ask for the bread. Lack luster presentation, limited choice of items on the menu. Very bad value given the high prices. Will never go back.
The best steak in NYC and impeccable service.
Food was far better than I would expect. Not just an iconic location but also an outstanding meal. Not inexpensive but unlike some places at least here you get your money’s worth. Will definitely return
The food at The Grill is truly delicious. Presentation was beautiful. Service was impeccable. I would highly recommend The Grill
Had a 6:30 reservation and on time.
Four of us were seated at a very loud table and they kindly moved us.
However, we all felt very rushed with food delivery and hovering over to see if we were finished. We spent a great deal of money and i was very disappointed with the overall service.
I will probably will not go back again.
However, I did go to The Pool a year ago or so and it was so nice and relaxing.
Great food. Great ambiance. Great bar. Expensive. Music from the bar was rather loud. Would return.
If they run out of prime rib their signature dish on a Friday night at 8 pm they will offer you a six inch bone so you can see what you missed. You. won’t know they are selling it to you until you get the $21 charge on bill. Many more problems but that sort of explains the whole night. The wines were great though.
This is one of the best restaurants in NYC. What a terrific experience, exquisite-tasting food and incredible service. Adam R might be the best waiter we’ve ever experienced.
If you are looking for a fine dining experience that you must go to The Grill for dinner. Hands down one of the nicest restaurants I have been to. From the greeting when you check in to the your waiter to the bus staff to the manager, they make you feel welcome and impress you with everything they do. The ambiance is unbelievable, absolutely beautiful!!
The food is to impress as well. Having my prime rib carved in front of me was a nice touch. The occasion meals were excellent. They made a special for is that much more Please be aware that you do pay a nice price for this but it’s something you won’t forget
I’ll be back!
What a huge disappointment . Special NYC weekend trip to see Billy Joel as MSG.
Service could have been much more attentive.
There was no relaxing, as our server kept pushing his agenda to keep our dinner moving at his own pace. Also, I anticipated pricey, but $30 for a mixed drink is a bit over the top...all while being 'hurried' through the experience. There are too many other high-end options in the city to give The Grill a second chance.
Poor service. Mediocre food. Way overpriced for the value delivered. Eating in the pool room is like being in a morgue. Won’t return.
Incredible venue and staff, food is very expensive but good. Steaks and main dish portions are huge so should have shared more.
