The Italiano, the newest masterpiece by Chef Joey Maggiore and his team of culinary geniuses, located at 90th Street and Shea Blvd. in Scottsdale, the elevated Italian restaurant will be The Maggiore Group’s sixth concept introduced to the Valley’s award-winning dining scene.

The Italiano exudes an ambiance of casual elegance, blending warmth with sophistication, while offering authentic Italian dishes that transport you to the very heart of culinary tradition in Italy. The menu will feature the flavors of old-school red sauce Italian cuisine with a Chef Joey touch. Interactive tableside experiences will include an antipasto cart where guests can curate their own plate with over 30 different items. There will also be a must-try Limoncello cocktail cart and a Zabaione dessert cart.

The Italiano's lounge and bar will be open at 3pm, and reservations will begin at 5pm for main dining.

we ate here last night with my wife and son. we had Caesar salad, clams oreganata, veal parmesan, chicken parmesan and veal piccata the food was all delivered promptly and hot. everything was quite good.... the service was outstanding, I don't think a 5 is high enough and the evening overall was delightful. we will be back

This was our 1st time to The Italiano. Much of the food was luke warm, not tasty and pairings that may not have been the best. For instance the gnocchi with the prawns should not have been in a tomatio sauce but rather the same sauce as the prawns which was light and tasty...and the gnocchi was not light and pillowy. The aranchini was not fresh..had been reheated and had a hard shell with a filling that lacked flavor. The service was not good, our waiter did not check back to see how our meal was, the bus staff was ill trained and when they brough our dishes, did not check to see if we had the proper silverware and then when we asked for silverware, the wrong item in one instance was brought..for instance a dinner fork was brought for our desert plate. The noise level was very very loud since the dining room was crammed with tables, with little room between tables. All in all we did not have a pleasurable experience.

This was THE BEST dining experience we've had in AZ! From rhe moment we walked in, we were greeted so warmly by the host and taken right to our table (reservations a must!). Our server, Gary, was extremely knowledgeable and kind and did not rush us at all. During our meal, the maitre d' came over - Nico - and introduced himself and wished us a happy anniversary. The drinks, appetizer, entrees, desserts and cappuccino were OUTSTANDING! Gary even gave us a dessert with "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate on the plate. And when we left, Nico remembered our names and wished us a happy anniversary again. We spent $240 for 2 drinks, 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, 1 dessert, 1 cappuccino and 1 tea: a great special-occasion meal and experience: WORTH EVERY PENNY!

We had another great experience at The Italiano last night. Our waiter was Carlos, and the service was wonderful. Thank you to the entire team at The Italiano. It started the minute we walked in the door.

Go to the bar, just ask for Pete. That is all you need to know. He made me the best Negroni I’ve ever had in my life. Also recommended the East Coast Pork Chop Martini to pair with Negroni, unbelievably good, almost therapeutic. They were excellent at accommodating every need, I don’t think “no” is in their vocabulary. Definitely coming back.

Tried this spot for Arizona Restaurant Week and overall it was a really solid Italian meal. The restaurant was packed, so the kitchen was running a little slow, but honestly that’s expected on a busy Saturday during Restaurant Week. Our server was personable, professional, and kept things moving as best she could. The standout of the night was easily the arancini appetizer — probably the best I’ve had in Arizona. Arancini is one of my favorite things to order, and this version nailed it. The seasoning was balanced, the rice-to-meat ratio was perfect, and the red sauce had just the right amount of acidity without being overly sweet (which I personally appreciate because too many places overdo it). I even tried my boyfriend’s prawns, which says a lot because I’m usually not a seafood person. Flavor was great and the texture was spot on. For my entrée, I had the sausage-stuffed cannelloni with béchamel sauce. Really good dish with balanced flavor and rich without being too heavy. My boyfriend ordered the filet mignon Restaurant Week special and after trying both, he actually said he liked my dish better. The filet was good — solid overall — just not particularly memorable. Desserts were also good. The cannoli had a traditional filling with a non-traditional shell that worked well. He ordered the spumoni gelato cake, which was tasty, though I’d probably enjoy it more without the pistachio topping. Overall, definitely worth trying if you’re looking for solid Italian food with a few standout dishes.
