Dine in the AA 2 Rosette Linen Fold Panelled Restaurant, where you can enjoy the ambience of the large restaurant, the cosiness of The Dr Syn Dining Room or the privacy of the Boardroom for your evening meal, lunch and breakfast.

Head Chef Drew King is focused on using quality, seasonal, local ingredients and cooking them perfectly. He has a broad range of experience having worked in Michelin Star restaurants. and is able to adapt to the requirements of the guest and the occasion.

Please note dogs are not allowed in the Restaurant. Bookings are for the Restaurant only. We do not reserve for The Bar and outside seating areas.

Lovely old hotel, supposed to be haunted and looks like it should be although staff say they haven't seen anything. Great food and service, we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner.

Really special - old school white table cloth and bow tie - but not stuffy. The building is gorgeous and historical. Lovely attentive service in lovely atmosphere. Good portion sizes and lovely wine selection.

Gorgeous restaurant and the food was excellent! Staff payed close attention to the allergies for a guest and were on the ball without being on top of us. Will go back again!

A great dining experience from when we entered the restaurant to the time we left All the staff were very friendly and helpful. There were 3 complimentary canapés which were delicious. I had a duck starter and my husband had mackerel . My main course was rack of lamb ( pink and delicious) My husband had the sea bass .. and we had the new potatoes with crispy onions - Sam our waiter was excellent and our wine waiter recommended a perfect wine to accompany our meal that was very well priced Al in all a perfect meal in a historical beam clad dining room …. A very memorable experience

With 4 of us dining my meal was cold. The waiter said he would see to it straight away, which he did. Unfortunately he did not apologise and nothing else was said to me about it when my meal was returned. I feel this isn't the way to deal with this situation. An apology was needed and an offer of a complementary drink or coffee would have been appreciated. This was not the actions I would have expected from a restaurant of this quality.

Excellent food, service and ambience at the Mermaid. A wonderful restaurant which has carpet, so the noise levels mean you are not eating in an aircraft hangar unlike a lot of modern restaurants.
