   First of all, staff are amazing - attentive, kind and helpful. Service was fab, nothing was too much hassle. Food was lovely, never had a roast dinner from a pub that's as similar to a home-cooked one. Dessert was equally as good! Will definitely be going back :)

   Lovely staff was looked after as soon as I walked in . Had the roast and was not disappointed with the roast spuds , always a deal breaker. Definitely will be going back .

   Great food,roasts and burgers excellent,the opportunity to have a cheeseburger with roast potatoes is too good to pass up. The staff are exceptional and looked after us from arriving to leaving. Probably the nicest place to lunch in Islington

   We went for Sunday Lunch, Roast beef, Yorkshire puddings,and the entire lot, it was fantastic! We pleased with the portion sizes, the taste was delicious, and the service was impeccably. The room we ate in was quite full of other dinners, while it was noisy it was okay, everyone was having a good time. This is a very old pub, the stairs up to the main dining area are steel and narrow so Care must be taken in walking them. I will absolutely return agin next time that I’m in London. It was a very enjoyable experience! Fran R

    When I booked I put on our booking we had a baby and needed space for a buggy. The dining room is upstairs so not suitable for that which we didn’t know. When we arrived and they explained our table we booked was upstairs we had to wait 25 mins for a table downstairs to free up. The staff were really nice and kindly asked a table who had finished their meal to leave there table so we could sit. The food was pretty good… we had lamb, veggie and beef roasts between us. The veggie roast option (mushroom Wellington) wasn’t amazing. Desserts and drinks were highlights.

    Without doubt this the best roast in London. I’ve been here twice now and with the friendly and attentive service, ambience, atmosphere and food, it’s a strong 10/10 every time. I can’t wait to come back!

    Nice upstairs dining room, above the pub. However it is very noice (no sound absorption features) and I found that, at leat for me, their famous Sunday Roast was a bit hard and difficult to digest.

    The roast just wasn't as good as we expected. We were hounded with messages and phone calls in the days before our booking to confirm we still wanted to come - they seemed terrified of a cover being missed. The whole experience felt like they were trying to cram as many bookings into an afternoon as possible. The food was poor, beef dry, small portions, no allergy options (apart from removing items). It ranked lowest v.s. the other roasts we've had in the area. The service was good, staff very friendly and the pub interior is fantastic.

    Highly recommend going for a Sunday roast here! The food was perfect, great portion size as well, the beef tasted amazing and the pigs in blankets were incredible too! Would definitely go again next time I’m there! The staff were amazing, always checking on people, very friendly and made an effort to make our visit an enjoyable one too! 10/10 best roast in London.

    Food was great, however they sat us at our table late as our table wasn't ready and had a booking directly after ours (1.5hour from start time). This means we were not able to order any dessert as they was not enough time before the next booking.

    We booked for the Sunday roast and were not disappointed. Both beef and vegetarian were absolutely delicious, as were all the accompaniments, especially the Yorkshire pudding. As we were not familiar with British beers, our waiter recommended one, which we also enjoyed. Two of our party indulged in dessert—one sticky toffee and one apple crumble. Both desserts got thumbs up. Food was superb, service was friendly and attentive, but what really impressed was the value for the price. Sunday roast at the Old Queens Head is now on our must-do list for future visits to London.

    I’ve been there before for Sunday roast and for burgers. I took may partner and my sister and in-law, that they were on a express visit, for the roast and we all loved it! The prices are great, food great, place amazing, service top shelf, and the veggie roast is delish! I will be back soon!

    First off....service. Just WOW. Amazing from top to bottom. From the front door to the bar to the upstairs. Fantastic. Food was great. The ambiance was wonderful. Would def go back again. Loved it all.

    The staff were so lovely, the lady in the striped waistcoat has served me on two separate occasions and has been absolutely lovely each time! The roast is exceptional, and such a good price for Islington! Definitely order a second yorkshire pud as they're so good!

    The Sunday roast was one of the most delicious meals I've ever had. Food is amazing, drinks are amazing, and the staff was absolutely wonderful. The sticky toffee pudding will change your life. I was truly impressed and my experience was amazing

    Amazing experience- returned after a few years and still the same. Great staff, great food and great atmosphere. Would like to say thanks to Jessie and Josh for making it lovely and my partners birthday a treat! Will be back again ASAP!
