   First visit and we couldn’t have picked a better place. Everything good about The Springs - ambience, friendly service and food. Would return on a heartbeat if in Cambridge again.

   Not a big fan of roast lunches but the chicken roast was delicious. Beautifully cooked and presented. A lovely, polite and attentive waiter. A bit pricey at £17 but I understand high costs at the moment have an impact on catering and hospitality.

   Portion sizes have reduced in the past few weeks. Fish with the fish and chips half the size and beef burger a lot smaller.

   The staff were very pleasant and attentive. The restaurant was in an easy to get to location near the river. There was plenty of space and the food was well-cooked and tasty. A very pleasant meal out.

    Never use this establishment. We made a booking which they excepted for at 9:30 pm slot. When we got there having spent a fortune on a taxi they said that because the pub was not very busy so they close the kitchen and I’ve had a very good laugh about our predicament. Never use this establishment.

    The overall experience was good, but there were one or two niggles, in that the extras for the burger at £2.00 each for bacon and mushrooms was a bit steep. That is why I scored 3 for value, otherwise the price point was about right.

    A really special return to The Old Spring after an absence of several years. Good to see that that it effectively changed in order to retain its traditional appeal. Food and drink first class as was the friendly and efficient service. The combination of eating inside and drinking post meal outside is close to unique in this ambience. Just surprising to see so few customers on a Saturday evening.

    Food & ambience was excellent but the enjoyment of our meal was spoiled by a curt male waiter who demanded the menus back as soon as we had ordered & interrupted us several times to demand plates , bottles, etc back while we were either talking or some of us had not finished eating.

    Great service 8-00 for desert seems steep Bill for 5 people inc 1.5 drinks each 200-00 I know prices are rising but it does spoil the occasion We won’t be going out as much now Food was good service top notch Price let it down

    Our party of five adults and one toddler all had a lovely lunch at The Old Spring -- the food was really good. The toddler was very happy with the children's choice and ate a good deal of it. (The portion was generous). It's a fairly short menu plus two or three daily specials. The platter of bread and dips, was delicious and again generous. The potato wedges were notably crisp on the outside and fluffy within. The service was very friendly and efficient and they make a great bloody Mary --nice and spicy. The bill came to around £30 per adult for five mains, one side dish, 1 child's meal, two desserts, two coffees and six other drinks, five of which were alcohol. I'd happily go there again.
