   We went a few years ago and the food has definitely gone down hill. Entrees with greatly varied portions, undercooked steak, poor substitutes on entree choices. Overall, just really mediocre.

   I thought the food was bland...not a lot of flavor. The dining inside is not very attractive. They could redesign the inside dining to make it more enjoyable. Even though their prices are high, it does not feel like you're in a high class restaurant.

   We sat outside at one of the high table which was perfect. Great view if the street and patio space and not too close to other guests that it was disruptive. Food was excellent appetizer through to desert. The offerings were tough to choose from as they all sounded great! We each tried a different signature cocktail that didn’t disappoint. All in all we had a great experience and will definitely dine here again!

   The Mother’s Day buffet was minimal and so disappointing. The food wasn’t very tasty and crazy overpriced for what they were offering. I had to flag someone down to find out who our waiter/tress was. He finally came and then later, I had to stand up so he’d see me asking for the check after several attempts to wave him down. I won’t be returning.

    Came here for mothers day and the buffet was something you'd find at a holiday inn except here it cost sixty bucks a head. The food selection was very poor with just a small handful of items to choose from, the omelet station took up 65% of the buffet. The food also wasn't stocked very often so in the middle of the seating it was practically empty. Will not be coming back and very disappointed overall.

    Beautiful place and the food was good, but the staff didn't seem to know what they were doing or were too busy. Our table did not have flatware. There was no drink menu and the bartender thought the drink menu was on the menu provided which it was not. The waffles were left burning and a customer had to turn off the maker. The restroom garbage can was overflowing and one of the soap dispensers was empty. Our waiter was very nice as was one of the hostesses'. For the amount of money, you charge I expected better service.

    In all fairness, it was Mothers Day brunch and brunch is not their thing - and it showed. At $60 a person I would never do this again. Staff was low. Food wasn’t hot. Items listed from the menu not available (desserts). Do not recommend

    Went for Mothers Day brunch. Sitting outside of this beautiful restaurant was delightful but the brunch could have used more “punch” for the price. It felt like the food was just placed on long 6 ft. tables with no effort to make it look appealing. A few carnations thrown on the table. It could have used a carving station and every plate of food looked like it was on “throw away” plates. The food that was there was delicious and so was the outdoor ambiance but the inside was sparse and cold. The mimosas were small and in what looked like plastic glasses and very plain. I also didn’t like the way we as customers had to handle the serving spoons or tongs. I had called earlier to find out how that was working for a buffet and was told the food would only be handled by the station employee only. Not the case. Not good during covid. Plus the food was not protected in anyway like underneath plexiglass. We enjoyed ourselves…I just hope they take these suggestions to heart. I understand it was their first Mothers Day brunch. We would like to see how it is on regular night. A footnote…our server was very nice.

    Overall we were disappointed. I am very familiar with Pacific rim cooking, go to Hawaii very frequently and the food did not meet my expectations. The poke with the addition of radishes was not a familiar taste, the salmon was a large portion but overcooked, and the hula pie had almonds instead of macadamia nuts, which is the staple for that desert. Hence the disappointment. The POG drink was not what I was expecting either. In terms of seating, we were outside. I think they need to reduce the number of tables or arrange them differently to be a nicer setting. The service was adequate. Neither the server or the guys who brought the food wore masks.

    Food was just plain bad. The prime rib had that sitting under a heat lamp leatherness. Food was just barely warm. Overpriced and tiny portions. Way smaller than the pictures.

    Expected a nicer environment with the price they charged customers. The outside seating seemed much better than the inside. Food taste: nothing special. A bit sweet. The food portion is extremely small Chilean seabass priced $45 but I got a tiny portion of food filled up with not well cooked udon and carrot. I do understand Chilean seabass is on the pricey side but the portion is too small.

    Always a good crowd, there was great live music (!!!) with a local band from Santa Cruz, and the food is always delicious. Had prawn appetizer and fish tacos for main course. Was fabulous! Outdoor dining.

    A big disappointment. From the pictures, I expected much more in terms of ambiance and atmosphere from this gorgeous (from the outside) old home. However, the indoor dining space is a glorified bar room with randomly scattered, unappealing and uninviting tables. "Pacific Rim" hardly describes the menu offerings. The fried calamari was drenched in a tasteless thick breading and should have been sent back. The wedge salad was nothing special and the Asian salad struggled to be worthy of its name - a notch above Panda Express. The service showed promise at the outset, but took a nose-dive as the restaurant got busier. I feel sorry for the folks serving this food.

    We had a lovely night out at the Palms. We ate outside and the grounds were just lovely ... lots of tables with appropriate spacing and outdoor heaters. We will be back.

    5-star outdoor ambience and heaters. Server was nice. Too bad the food was not up to par for the price. 2 out of the 3 of us could not finish our plates and we ended getting a 2nd dinner elsewhere.

    Best outdoor dining in Los Gatos. Excellent food with a lot of options for every taste. Krima was very friendly and attentive. Drinks were right on. Delicious Old Fashion. All the appetizers were fresh tasting with a lot of flavor. Korean ribs were so good. They have heaters if it’s chilly and the house/restaurant has a cool ambiance. Definitely will be going back.

    We haven't been back to this location since it was The Chart House. They did a very nice job of outdoor seating; they could have used a few more heat lamps but it was a warm evening for April and we had coats. The service was very good and the food was excellent. We took home a Hula Pie (which was also very good); we would have stayed longer but it got a bit cold. We would definitely recommend the Palms to friend (be soure and make reservations).

    I enjoy The Palms very much! The food is good, the prices reasonable, and the service friendly and very, very good. The only reason I haven't given five stars is that the live music outside was too loud for my taste. I was there with a friend for a nice dinner outside on a summery evening and we wanted to chat. At times it was difficult to hear each other over the music. I didn't find the music itself objectionable; it wasn't hard rock or heavy metal or anything like that or EXTREMELY loud, but just a bit too much noise. Whatever happened to dinner with soft music so that people can relax and converse? That said, I definitely recommend The Palms, especially during the time music isn't provided. If you like to focus on the music while you dine, even if the music interferes with conversation, this is the place for you because everything else is very good!

    The ambiance was great as we sat outside while the band was playing. One of our ordered entrees was the French Dip. It was delicious but the bread was super soggy making it messy to eat.

    This is our second time eating at The Palms. I had the Poki bowl. It was amazing. We had spring rolls and lobster bisque before the main course. Another great choice.

    I'm a foodie, and raised in the restaurant world, my famiy having run concurrently four restaurants... We love the setting at the Palms. We had an out of town guest. I ordered the Filet Mignon, med-rare, to the RARE side. It arrived at the table over-done and tough, I sent it back. My fellow diners food came. It was almost 20 minutes before my filet arrived back @ our table, my fellow diners had already well finished their meals. My sweethearts Mahi-Mahi I tasted and it was WAY overcooked!!! He didn't mind as he was so hungry Until your chefs(cooks) get their act together, I won't be recommend the place to anyone! Really disappointed...also they sat a family with a dog and young noisy child right next to us. Service was marginal at best though our waitress Katie was a doll!!

    Food was ok. Ambience was ok too. I believe it would have been better outside. But we chose inside since this was our first time. Service was great! Server was very attentive even when I had to take back the mahi mahi due to an allergy that I was not aware of (tongue itched first bite). I had the Kona pork which was delicious. My partner had the filet mignon - he was taken a back by the gravy. He did not enjoy it as much. Fried calamari was ok - sauce was kind of watery. Guacamole with taro chips was ok - guac delicious, taro chips were kind of stale. Hula pie was good! We like to go back again to experience outside. We were impressed by the service and live music.

    The Palms has great ambience -- eating on the lawn in wicker furniture...ideal for the summer. I wish, though, that the food matched the prices, or even came close. While there may be some good items (the salmon) their sea bass tasted off, the coconut shrimp were miniscule, and the guacamole watery. Service was friendly but slow.

    The Palms is a very fun restaurant to go to. It is an old Victorian house with lots of outdoor garden space. They have heat lamps so if you choose to eat outside it’s quite comfortable. The coconut prawns and the lobster soup were excellent. We also had the ribs and a wedge salad. Everything was yummy and fresh. To top it all off, we had their hula pie. To die for! We will definitely go there again, this time with our good friends. It is a nice option for varied diets. Oh, and did I mention the cocktails? Also very good but very pricey.
