The Rose Plantation is casual elegant dining amidst a beautiful serene atmosphere. This century-old home, built by the prominent Dwight family of Massachusetts, sits on four acres of Rose Avenue along Fountain Lake. Eclectic china, fine silverware, stemware and linen tablecloths enhance the setting for the Americana-style food and wine that awaits the discerning evening diner. Lunch is served in a more casual setting, consisting of delicious soups, salads, sandwiches and smoked meats. The Rose Plantation is family owned and operated.

Service and food quality was good. Portion for the lamb chops was minimal with 4 very small ribs that were about 2 bites each. Small for a $40+ entree. Also, upon making our reservation, and upon arrival, we were asked if it was a special occasion and we shared that we were there for my mom's 70th birthday. At the conclusion of the meal we asked if they might be bringing cake or something and we were told that everyone is there for their birthday and that they don't bring a small dessert for birthdays or special occasions. I thought that was a bit cheap of the restaurant after spending $300 on a meal for my mom's and family. Otherwise, it was a pleasant evening, however the small touches matter and the Rose Garden didn't deliver.

My wife and I have been at your restaurant on several occasions and enjoyed each time we were there. My suggestion would be to change your menu. Customers are limited to the same selections except the specials. If you don’t care for duck, rack of lamb or pasta you don’t have much of a selection. We always enjoy our meals at the Rose Plantation. The food and drinks are excellent and service excellent. The last two times we were there we had the same server, Josh. He is exceptional.

My husband truly enjoyed his food. He probably would give it the highest star. However if you have issues with garlic you might want to ask for them to hold it. I also did not care for the roasted vegetables with such things as turnip. The desert was very good. the service was excellent. The setting itself is great. They had a pianist playing and it added to the charm.

Have been going to The Rose Plantation for lunch for many years . Recently my wife & I decided to go for our first dinner there to celebrate our anniversary. It was a Friday so prime rib was on the menu. It was outstanding. Probably the best prime rib I’ve ever eaten. Done perfectly. The sides of mushrooms and asparagus were also excellent. Overall all a very nice evening. The cherry pie was outstanding as usual. The service was a bit slow at times. We had to flag our server a few times during the meal.

Enjoyable for all ages, we ate outside which was a bit "buggy" but they closed the screens and problem solved. it was wondeerful to be in the woods and look out over the lake. The food was just as we ordered. There was not one request that our wonderful server did not provide. Enjoyable

The host and hostess who also are the owners were friendly and welcoming. Shared the salad. Perfect size. The special pasta ravioli with a cream mushroom were flavorful. Cooked just right. Shared the chocolate ganache cake. Definitely recommend for special night out.

A bit noisy for my taste so next time I’ll opt for the porch ( no piano..!!). Ford was fine and worth the price. Martini was shaken and skimpy.

We thought the food was a bit bland but maybe were just used to spicier foods. I had the snapper and it needed something, such as a lemon butter sauce maybe. Next time I will order something else.

Service was a bit slow, but I suspect that was because several new servers had recently been hired, according to our waitress. The food was good as usual, although the lobster bisque had no discernible lobster meat in it, and my rack of lamb was, in fact, two separate lamb chops that had been grilled then placed together on my plate. When we arrived, I ordered a very dry Bombay Sapphire martini, and a short while later the waitress brought a chilled glass and a shaker which she placed on the table. Since she made no effort to pour it, I picked up the shaker after she had left to get the extra chill with a few shakes but was disappointed to find that there was no ice in the shaker. I poured the drink into my glass and tasted only vermouth but said nothing since the waitress never returned to see if the drink was satisfactory. At the end of our meal when the check came, I noticed a $14 charge for gin, a $3 up charge for Bombay Sapphire, and a $4 up charge for “served up”. I don’t mind paying $21 for a martini if it is properly prepared and served, but this was neither! Sadly, there still is no fine dining anywhere in or around The Villages in Florida.

The bison ribeye I ordered had good flavor, however, it was very tough. I would expect for the price I paid that attention be paid to the preparation of the bison be such to make it tender.
