   Our server was extremely disdainful, unwelcoming, and ill-mannered!!! One of the WORST servers I've had if not the WORST. I actually felt uncomfortable eating here because of his demeanor. He made snarky comments and didn't check up on us at all. He was slow bringing out all the dishes and didn't explain them but when it came to the check he got it to us at the speed of light! He made sure to rub it in our face that 20% gratuity is included which made sense as to why he didn't care about how we were treated. Regardless of his tonality he was going to get his money. At this level this is totally unacceptable. As for the food it was mid... at best. Overpriced for what it is and definitely not a Michelin Star experience. For starters I had yellowfin tuna and my boy got the Dungeness crab risotto. Tuna was bland, tasted like it was from an all inclusive resort in Mexico, had no flavor! The risotto was yummy but I'd skip it and go to Gary Danko for the lobster risotto instead. For entree, I had the applewood grilled wagyu and he got the butter poached lobster. Honestly the wagyu tasted like unseasoned beef. We had Fleming's a few nights prior and it was better than this. Lobster was good though. Normally I'll look past bad service if the food is worth it but this place is a no go. Overall I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and will never come back. They need to get their star taken away.

   We love the food, drink and overall experience at Village Pub. Feels so indulgent to be having marvelously prepared and presented food in such a luxurious and yet comfy surroundings. Service is excellent although I wish the waiters here (and yes other high end establishments) would wait just a few minutes before removing plates.

   Wonderful ambience, waiter (Jose) was fantastic. First, we never got five continuous minutes to ourselves. Between our waiter, manager, bread person, water person etc. etc. we were constantly interrupted. Second, it is a pricey establishment but we knew that going in expecting superior service and food. We ordered champagne for our but didn't realize they were charging $40/glass. Our mistake for not asking. Service was great but lobster which was extra over the fixed price menu was over cooked and chewy. When I got home and looked at the bill of over $554 for two (ouch), I was charged for a drink I did not receive. Called back and expect they will correct but it takes time out of my day to fix their mistake.

    Overall, a great experience. The entrees were absolutely delicious (we had duck and venison), the first courses were very good, desserts were good though not exceptional. My drink was very good too. The service was excellent overall, though later in the evening, it worsened a bit when the place became busier compared to the initial impression. The few downsides were that the place is a bit too noisy for my taste, the fried bread pieces in the starter canape and tuna were unnecessarily oily and with distinctive fried oil taste, and it really makes a bad impression that they add $11/bottle for water to the receipt (it is good water, just an awkward thing to do). Overall, would recommend it and might go again.

    We had a great lunch. I had the Crispy Chicken Salad which our server recommended and it was delicious. My husband had the Duck Confit which also was great. The wine selections are amazing and the Sommelier is super knowledgeable and friendly. We will be back!

    Nothing special except a very expensive and extensive wine list. Food is fine, one Michelin star is plenty, service is posh, bordering with arrogance and suffisance when dealing with the lead sommelier. Terrace is overlooking the car park, avoid it.

    The food is absolutely excellent. The scallops were perfectly cooked - divine. The French Colonial cocktail was a standout, as was the chocolate pistachio entremets for dessert. We were very full by the end of the meal, and very happy with our decision to splurge on this special occasion dinner. Our server was very kind and took great care of us first-time visitors.

    We were here for our anniversary and the staff did ensure that we had a great time. Not only was the food and ambiance amazing but the staff went above and beyond to celebrate our special occasion. We were even surprised with an additional food course from the chef which was amazing. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for great food and hospitality.

    We love the pub but last night was a very disappointing experience. Our waiter was extremely busy and was pretty inattentive. When he did check on us, he was rushed and didn’t wait for a response before leaving the table. Our meals took quite a long time to get to us. When they arrived, my scallops were lukewarm though they still tasted very good but my husbands Halibut was very dry. Though our cocktails were comped due to the dryness and the wait, it was a sadly disappointing delayed Valentines dinner. The sommelier was the most charming and communicative member of the staff we encountered all night. The person presenting the food was loud and abrasive. Hoping it was just an off night - the experience left much to be desired.

    Went on Valentine’s Day and had their prefix menu. Reservation was for 9:15, was sat at 9:30 and didn’t get the first course until 10:00. Our server was great the whole night. But the food was very underwhelming. The first course was divine but after that it was okay at best. The salad was very beet heavy and no one around us seemed thrilled about it either. Our server was kind enough to replace it with a squash risotto which was very good. The next dish was a cavatelli that was too reliant on truffle. The entrees were the weakest points: the chicken was dry and not very flavorful, and the lamb was under seasoned. The other possible dish was lobster, which the couple next to us had comped because it was so bad. So none of the entrees were up to par. The desserts were actually pretty good. But for the price and the hype, the experience was lackluster.

    While $100 pre fixe usually us not viewed as a value meal, this was. We had not eaten at Village Pub for a while. This is the best restaurant on the Peninsula.

    Amazing as usual. We try to come here once a month. Can’t say enough about this place. Everything was perfection. The steak was exceptional, and the omelet was “the best omelet” according to my husband. Cheesecake helped to put a great finishing touch to our brunch.

    Best higher end dining experience we have had in years. The food in incredible. The service is top notch. An excellent location for a special occasion or just a nice meal out. Wouldn’t recommend bringing young children here as it is not that type of setting. Old world elegance - best wagyu I’ve ever had.

    Excellent food and preparation, the best we have had in a long time. Service and staff were on par with the food . The crab 🦀 and risotto were the best I have ever had. Only negative to the experience was the very expensive bill. My wife and I have eaten all over the world including Paris Three Stars and this meal is right up there. To give the restaurant its due we have not eaten out much during the pandemic and we may be behind the times. We can’t wait to go back and try the other dishes on their fantastic menu. Staff is very friendly and professional. Some have been there over 20 years. Way to go Woodside Pub.

    We dined on a Wednesday night at 7:15pm The food and service from everyone who came to our table was excellent. We were celebrating our 37 anniversary. The house noise caused us to lean inward to have a conversation. This was a big disappointment. We probably will go back once I forget about the noise level.
