Tilth never disappoints. I have only been to Tilth for brunch.
The service was spot on, from the time we arrive until we left. Very attentive staff, checking with us enough so that our coffees were always full but not so much as to be disruptive.
The food is amazing as always. The pork belly plates my friends had were delicious, according to them. I had the baked eggs, which I’ve had before, and to my surprise the recipe changed. Nevertheless, they were delicious. They tasted different from the previous version of the plate, but each version was amazing. This version had bacon baked into the dish, along with some veggies. I wiped down the plate with bread.
I look forward to the next baked eggs recipe.
Halibut was over cooked and dry, asparagus salad was OK but the anchovy vinaigrette was barely there, small tastes of the hor s’ouvres were artistic in presentation however not exceptional in taste. Service was rather impersonal and aloof.
Because of the environment, the food, the location and food
Very enjoyable. Our waitress made the event! We will recommend Tilth to others looking for a unique dining experience.
The food was really good, even though two of our orders were significantly undercooked. What ruined the experience was the service. Felt like we were a bother to our server.
I took a friend to Tilth as a first-time visit using a gift card. We both enjoy exploratory dining experiences. The atmosphere is cozy, like a living room. The staff read my seating request which asked for a quieter table because of hearing challenges, and they moved our table to a corner after having originally sat us next to a table of four chatty friends. I appreciated the table switch. Our server was new, but being shadowed by an experienced server, so our questions about unique and exceptional dishes that we should try were answered. The experienced server is also and experienced bartender and he accurately recommended cocktail, beer, and cider choices based on our tastes as we described them. The pork chop was tender, perfectly cooked, and shows what a pork chop can be in the hands of talented chefs. The tuna had a melt-in-your-mouth perfection that maintained a texture without being chewy, tasted like tuna without the overly fishy smell, and was cooked in flavors that enhanced rather than overpowered the tuna. The caraway cauliflower is worth ordering, as is the baracha. We splurged on a desert, which was the celery semifredo; unique and worth it. We were also appreciative of the service that was attentive without being obtrusive, and the lighting and music that gradually shifted in response to the waning natural sunlight and the changing of the population of the room. It was an excellent experience overall.
Tilth is consistently among the very best restaurants in Seattle. The food is imaginative, free of the latest fads and always excellent. The dishes appear to be prepared to order and never disappoint. The service is correct, professional and never over-the-top. The ambience is very comfortable
The food at Tilth is absolutely great. It is sustainable and delicious...two qualities which are important to me. We had a great waiter as well which always adds to a wonderful evening.
Amazing food, environment and service. Happy to return to this SEATTLE gem.
Great experience. A special treat.
Everything was great! Can’t wait to go back.
Our Sunday Easter brunch was delicious!!
Wonderful food thoughtful service.
Our server was fantastic and the food was excellent
We attended during Seattle Restaurant week. The food was phenomenal and the service was impeccable. I've found other restaurants to be brusque and hurried during this event and Tilth was classy and surpassed my expectations. I will be bringing clients, visitors and family back again and again.
Everything was fine but nothing really stood out or was outstanding - food or service. I’m glad I tried this place for Seattle Restaurant Week since I’ve been meaning to go for a while but I probably won’t be returning since it’s normally on the pricier end yet nothing was very memorable.
Great service, AMAZING food.
Always great service, great food! We enjoy our dinner there very much.
Overall a lovely experience. The food was good and the service attentive. On the negative side, the table was a bit small for two and the room was very loud especially because of some boisterous groups (the restaurant was full during Restaurant Week). I think the experience would be much improved if more sound proofing can be done for the space. My husband would not return for this reason.
Delicious and interesting food. Tried five dishes (including dessert) and none were less than "Very Good". A good place to go for the adventurous: There are both exotic ingredients (new to me, at any rate...); plus interesting preparations of familiar ones--the roasted carrots and cauliflower with caraway seeds were both amazing. The vegan "cheesecake"--lavender flavored--was a marvelous discovery for dairy-intolerant folks like us . Will be returning as often as we can afford to :-)!
The food, as always, was exquisite in preparation and presentation, and the dining room is one of the loveliest in Seattle. But the food was bland. The roasted cauliflower dish had a green "harissa" but with no discernible spice, nor enough of it to cover each piece of cauliflower; so we both added salt to give it flavor. The gnocchi was bland, too, as was the pork chop. Of course pork chop is always rather bland if there's no punchy sauce, which there wasn't. Knowing that the chef has acquired a bland palette AND under-sauces each dish, I think we'll go elsewhere (e.g., Joule) for flavor.
Excellent service and even better food. The lamb ranked with the best we’ve eaten out.
Tilth always delivers and we love visiting during restaurant week for the great value.
I didn’t look at the regular menu, but know it is pricy. For Seattle Resto Week it was a great choice!
We went to Tilth for restaurant week and our choices were great as the service was even better.
Took advantage of Restaurant Week. Very glad we did. The tuna entree was outstanding — no knife necessary, yummy sauce and crisp snap peas.
Tasty food and wine pairings, courteous staff, and great ambience.
The pork was amazing! Looked like the size of the piece of pork was different on each plate, but it was so delicious it doesn't really matter.
Most dishes were great, a couple were just a bit too herb heavy that they came off a bit soapy
It happened to be restaurant week, so my boyfriend and I got different options and shared it all. Everything was fresh and delicious and interesting and beautifully plated. And maybe it’s just because we come from NYC, but it was incredibly reasonably priced ($35 for 3 courses). Highly recommend!
Food was excellent and the atmosphere homey and superb. Was a great fan of the chilled soup and the earl gray cheese cake was amazing. Look forward to being back soon!
Wonderful experience! Staff was lovely! Will be back!
Pleasant surroundings, excellent food, great wine selection. Fresh ingredients prepared well.
not much came together in our meal at Tilth. Flavors that did not work together and little to recommend.
I love Tilth and it will always be a special occasion place for our family and friends. Typically we go for dinner this was our second time going for brunch. The food was perfect and the ambiance always comfortable and pleasant. What was disappointing was the service from our server. Unsure if he was in a bad mood or distracted but he definitely did not provide the service we have come to love from Tilth. A few mishaps with placing the wrong plates at the wrong places which honestly not a huge deal. When dining with you we have always had fabulous servers who really connect with you and have good conversation with. He didn’t try at all to connect with any of us. Seemed annoyed if we asked for something and didn’t check on us after the food arrived. Again not a huge deal but what we have always loved about Tilth, besides the delicious food is the spot on service that came with it. Unfortunately you guys missed the mark this past weekend. We will be back but would love to have a different server!
Can’t put my figure on it but it felt “stale”. Like staff is just waiting for the restaurant to go under. The food was delicious though.
We had a lovely experience with the tasting menu.
The restaurant was a quaint and beautiful one. I felt the staff was a bit rude. We were greeted by two hosts - a lady and a man. The lady was very kind all through the experience and gave us a warm experience. For some reason, it came off like the man was a bit conceited and disinterested in the way he spoke with us. Good service and a welcoming atmosphere is paramount to a good experience and i felt like this restaurant lacked it. I would advice the person (I don't know if he was the owner) to be more cognizant of how he greets people.
Yes, this was the best brunch I have had in a long time. Marie
Consistently great dining with generous and creative menus. I love the setting in an old Seattle Craftsman home. It is quite popular and often quite crowded. For me the two primary negatives are the tables are too close together almost elbow to elbow and the noise level. One other thing: the print on the menu is really tiny and the lighting is low. I'd recommend more contrast on the menu and larger font!!
So, I try to select a day where there is likely to be more room. Love the place!!
Fantastic food in a quaint atmosphere with great service. Joel Panlilio is a master at culinary creations and blending various flavors into fantastic new experiences. Can't wait to go back.
