Tony & Elaine's
Service was great, and the food was incredible! Will be back during our trip.
Had an unbelievable meal! Will return again! Meatballs were amazing and the veal saltimbocca was the best I've had in years.
Food was sub par
This was the second time and it was still good. The location is a bit of a challenge for out of towners, but we can deal. Early on Sunday was good cause it was not crowded. The food was great, low key and not complicated. The wine list seemed to be priced pretty high though I realize that is where you make your profit. How about carafe of the house in 1/2 liter or 1 liter amounts?
The play list (Billie Joel channel on spotify?) was quite appropriate for our age group.
Great mom and pop feel which is great for every day dinning. Nothing fancy. Food is ranges from pretty good staples to excellent dishes like homemade lobster ravioli.
Love this place! One of my favorite restaurants in Boston now. Just wish there was one in Jamaica Plain.
Music choice not good. Though I like classic rock. Not at dinner at Italian restaurant. It was strange Service was inattentive More concerned about cleaning used tables than keeping dining guest satisfied Often felt like we were an inconvenience to staff
Excellent basic Italian food priced at a good value.
Attentive waiter. Not too loud. Old fashioned ambiance with Christmas lights for atmosphere.
Great off the beaten path Italian restaurant! I would definitely recommend stopping here during your visit in Boston.
Second time here and love this restaurant!!
Excellent food, value, atmosphere, and service ! AND it is quiet!!!
A Win Win in every way!!!
Very classic dishes done very well, but with very not classic prices. Still not bad for the north end, but there are other similar spots that beat on value for a simple chicken/veal parm. They make their pasta for some, but not all dishes. Maybe this would justify the value a bit more if it was all home made. Also portions were very different sizes for different entrees so be sure to ask. Very attentive staff though! Bolognese was the best.
Great meal. The restaurant is split into two levels - you just climb or descend stairs to get to either one from the street level.
It’s very much “set” in the 80’s in a fun way. The food was very good. It’s comfort food. If you’re looking for light options - you may wish to look elsewhere.
We started with the house salad - made with a delicious home made dressing. Like nothing else I’ve tried - sweet pepper maybe?
We tried the chicken parm and the spaghetti and meatballs. Both were tasty and the portion sizes were hearty.
Service was fast and friendly.
They serve beer and wine only.
Overall, we were happy with our choice.
I was itching to go to this place ever since I read in a newspaper article. that they had the best meatballs, Well, their good, but not the best. The portions are large, but the food is just okay. I went, got in out of my system, but I will not go back again. Very small, if you don't get to sit upstairs then you have to sit in the cellar. But I would not worry..observing, it looks like they do a lot of take out. We were the only patrons at 5:30pm.
Great food, atmosphere, and service.
Great music.....Music for the Customers not the staff!! The food is off the charts and the wait staff rocks!! Go for a birthday.
Went for late lunch. Had the place to ourselves. Food was very good.
Sweet place. Quaint. Good for families. Small to medium size groups would fit nicely. Delicious food. I had the pasta alla vodka. So yummy. Would eat there again.
Food was delicious. Menu small and basic but that’s ok when it’s done well. Small and cozy setting. Service was very attentive. Will definitely return and recommend.
Fine dining in a uniquely casual setting. The food was phenomenal and the environment is a throwback to the 80's. Definitely worth a visit.
Can't wait to go back. Food and wine were fabulous along with the great service!
We celebrated our anniversary with dinner at Tony and Elaine’s. The menu isn’t very large yet still offers quite a variety. Everything was so fresh and tasty. The staff was so attentive without being overbearing.
We’ll definitely be back!
This Restaurant requires 6 or 7 Stars!!! Food, Management, Wait Service....off the charts! Still Hidden!!
By far the best Italian-American restaurant in town: Reminds me of growing up in Jersey and going to classic, old school places where food was prepared thoughtfully and where it was so convivial that we felt as if we were in someone's home. Tony & Elaine's is better in some ways than those places because the wine list has good wines by the glass, and the food is more refined. I do wish the veal for the parm was pounded thin, maybe next time, but even in the current, thick iteration, flavor was evident. Before a Celtics game, this is THE place to go.
We had recommendations for the meatballs and chicken parm..
They did not disappoint. The saltimbocca was very good as well!
Food and waitstaff are both exceptional. Such a fun place to dine out!
Awesome neighborhood joint. Good food, service, ambiance. Glad we made a reservation!
I would highly recommend this place! OMG the cacio e pepe, the meatballs, the mozzarella sticks, the cannoli, the chicken parm...it is just traditional done to perfection...and the ambiance is so cool! Love it and will be back again and again!
Really enjoyed the food, service and low key vibe at Tony & Elaine's. great food at a reasonable price especially for the North End. definitely order the mozzarella appetizer, chicken parm and the hazelnut cannoli. chicken is 2 huge cutlets served with pasta - the side of pasta is almost full size and is made fresh in-house. Best cannoli is the North End filled to order with a crunchy shell. service is friendly and attentive.
Traditional Italian. Just what we were looking for and we were not disappointed.
Fantastic food and wine. Classic 70s rock music which we all loved. Great service. Slightly pricey but par for the course given the location. A little loud. Overall great place.
Absolutely wonderful! Best Cacio e Pepe I’ve ever had! Our waiter was very sweet and recommended all the best dishes too. Will definitely be back!
A nice variation to the 10 page menu. Limited one page menu. Best mozzarella sticks around!!!All of the four entrees at our table that we had were homeruns!! Server was vey attentive as well as rest of staff! Definite return visit next time in the area!
I’m not sure what the hype is about this restaurant. I must say I was very disappointed. I got together with two other friends and made a reservation ahead of time. We were seated at a tiny cocktail table that hardly fit our drinks and plates on it. It wAs very cramped and not very comfortable. The service was pretty good, but the food was just fair. I ordered the chicken parm. It is something I often order as I enjoy it and enjoy having leftovers. I ate about 1/3 of it and really didn’t even want the rest for leftovers as I just didn’t enjoy it.
I dined by myself and wish I had dined with others so I could try more of the menu. The spaghetti and meatballs were really delicious, and while I was too full for dessert, I ended up ordering a traditional cannoli and I was not disappointed! Loved the ambiance of the basement level seating and hope to return next time I am in Boston.
The food was delicious + the portions were HUGE! The chicken parm should 100% be split between two people. We had the arancini, mozzarella sticks, mussels and chicken parm and everything was absolutely amazing! the service was also great - super friendly wait staff!
The food was fair. I would have given a better value rate if the salad was not 9.95. The price for food seemed fair until Ii got eggplant parm and saw how small and boring it was.
Meatballs were not like any Nonnie makes that I know. Cannoli was fair.
Much better choices in north end
Menu is small, and making accommodations/adjustments to dishes was very difficult.
Asked if Instead if possible to do Chicken, instead of swordfish piccata, and said all chicken was already pre-breaded.
Food was just ok. Had higher expectations.
Has the potential to be better.
Service was great!
Excellent meal and overall experience.
Great good and service.
Incredible value especially for the North End.
Going back again.
Food was good. No ac, just fans, and it got hot. More old-fashioned than anticipated.
