   Food was delicious, as expected. We sat outside. It was crowded. Service was less-than-desirable. I mentioned in my reservation that we were celebrating a birthday. There was no acknowledgment — not from the hostess, nor the waitstaff. Our server Julio was ok. He got our orders right and was at least friendlier. Louis on the other hand wasn’t so much. We had to ask for water and more bread several times. At times, we were blatantly ignored even though I made eye contact with him and waived my hand. This was my 6th visit to Toulouse. I can honestly say I’ve only experienced good service there twice. The other four times, including this past Saturday evening were disappointments. It was my husband’s first time to Toulouse. He told me he didn’t enjoy the experience and doesn’t want to go back.

   Had a good time! We were sat a in direct sunlight due to the sun lowering below the umbrellas. We asked the manager working if we could change seats, but never heard back. The lamb chops were a tad on the dry side, but overall still 4/5 experience- great ambiance, live music, and drinks.

   Toulouse River Oaks is an absolute restaurant gem; I cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere with tasteful decor and comfortable seating. But the real star of the show here is the food. The menu offers a wide range of French-inspired dishes, from traditional classics like steak frites and escargots to more modern fare like the mushroom risotto and sea bass. Each dish is expertly crafted, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. The wine list is also impressive, with a great selection of French and international wines to choose from. What's more, the service is top-notch. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always ready to offer recommendations or answer any questions. They truly go above and beyond to ensure an enjoyable dining experience. Whether you're in the mood for weekend brunch, a romantic dinner for two or a night out with friends, Toulouse River Oaks is the perfect spot. The atmosphere is relaxed and intimate, and the food and service are exceptional. I love the bread! I highly recommend trying this restaurant - you won't be disappointed.

   Today was so so disappointing. Toulouse used to be our favorite restaurant- we went almost every Saturday. Today we went for the 1st time in around 6 months and it was just honestly not great from start to finish. Waitress was way overworked it seemed - maybe too many tables? Table wasn’t set with salt and pepper asked for some and finally just asked table next to us if we could use theirs. Infilled water and iced tea. Asked for jam and had to ask when the food came again. No steak knives brought with the steak. The steak that was once our favorite was much more money which I understand given inflation but it was also inferior quality to what it once was - fatty and gristly. We told the waitress about our disappointment with the steak and she said she would tell manager so they would know. No one ever came to follow up and we were charged for it. Unfortunately for a $100 brunch for 2 with no one seeming to care about our experience we won’t be returning. It is really too bad - we loved it so so much.

   Not our first visit to this restaurant and definitely not our last, always a pleasure to meet and eat here. Very busy due to its popularity but service was great, everyone enjoyed their food, which was well prepared and presented. We booked a standard table but they managed to find us a table outside, so we could enjoy one of Houston’s cooler Sunday brunch times.

    First time visiting and will be back when the weather improves to sit outside in the courtyard to experience the real ambiance. Had the French toast and it was so good, I didn’t need syrup. Will be back in the near future.

    Extremely rowdy for an expensive French restaurant. People dressed in blue jeans and sweat suits, loud and intoxicated yet overserved, and a manager who refused to intervene despite my request that he/ she do so. An otherwise special occasion dinner would have been perfect despite the cost. Beware the $19 martinis and the French wine list as one might expect.

    The food is good, as is the service. It was just weird that, on a Friday night, customers in their pajamas were dining in this otherwise upscale restaurant. What's the deal?

    We love Toulouse, we had been several times. Never disappoints. Wine selection is great, food is delicious and service is always impeccable and friendly. The mussels are delicious, the risotto is one of our favorites. I had the sea bass and was outstanding !!

    we enjoyed dinner very much.... petite filet for me and my husband mussels (big portion!) apple tart was deli.... lobster bisque just needed a little bit more butter. Server Abraham was very nice and attentive. smokers on the outside terrace were a bit annoying, since whiffs of smoke and smell drifted in....

    We had requested outside seating at the time of making the reservation but unfortunately it wasn’t an option until and unless we wait an extra 1 hour. We decided to wait an hour with the hostess tell us she will contact us when a table is available. She never called and we weren’t able to get get the space we had made reservation for.

    There are not many places in Houston where you can be seated outside, not next to a highway and eat very well. This is one of them. We enjoyed a live jazz band on Friday night.

    Great experience as always! The service was excellent - from the moment we with my girlfriends arrived, we felt welcomed and that the staff truly cared about making sure that we had a great experience. The menu had a variety of delicious options, and the flavors were amazing. The cocktails list was very impressive and I was able to find something to complement my meal. I was especially impressed with the attention to detail and how the wait staff delivered my food in a timely manner and presented it very nicely. Sure, it was the right place to celebrate Galentines day!

    Great food….we had to ask for the music to be turned down. There were multiple groups having lunch. It was already plenty loud without high volume music. They did immediately turn it down when we asked. It was a humid day and would have been better for the indoor diners to have had the doors closed. Minor things. The important things - food and service- were excellent

    We went to Toulouse for Valentine’s dinner. We have been customers since the restaurant open and we are very disappointed that some of their best dishes are gone. Trout almondine is no longer there, the beets salad is missing the piece of goat cheese that they would serve breaded in the middle of the delicious salad. This time you could not even see the goat cheese it was merely there in almost undetectable pieces. The worst thing is that the strawberry Napoleon is gone!!! As well as the profiteroles. We tried the cheesecake but we did not like it. Why they have done this is just beyond my understanding. It’s a shame because friends of ours have complained of the same things.
