Travelle - The Langham, Chicago
Superb services. Fantastic atmosphere. Great foods. Will go again.
Server called off sick so no one was around to really support our waiter in five star service. He had over seven tables to support. Manager? Nada. Food was delicious.
Service was terrible. Our waiter was so over it. He did nothing to enhance our experience. The food was also average. The yellowtail appetizer was terrible. There were chunks of ice in it and salt chunks. Each bite was like a bomb of grossness. The cauliflower soup was average. The pasta was ok but too salty and I don’t know why they put ricotta with lamb. Very disappointing. Do not recommend.
The restaurant is lovely and the food was delicious. We had Arctic char and lemongrass chicken. Both were excellent. The service however was not on par with the food. Although the staff was quite busy with attending to tables, they seemed to be short handed. There were quite a few times when we wondered if anyone was going to take our plates away or ask us about the next course. All of the staff were courteous, it just seemed that our waiter had too many tables. We will definitely go back.
The Food at the Mother’s Day Brunch was very good. What upset me was an automatic 18% service for a self serve brunch! I recommending based upon other factors.
Food and space were outstanding. Service was slow and spotty
Way too noisy-even if you reserve far ahead of time, if they have a separate large event, you will be yelling for your others at the table to be able to hear you.
Travelle is a beautiful restaurant with OK food. Service was good.....they were very helpful and friendly.
Ambiance and service need to be improved to be commensurate with the price and quality of food and quite frankly location at a 5 star hotel. It was not busy on a Friday night in the spring time in Chicago. That should say it all. Our tenderloin was rare when it arrived, a minor but annoying miss.
Terrific service. We had a table of 7 people and everything was impeccable.
Oysters NOT fresh
Not enough people for quality service
The steak was good
Lunch is a really nice deal especially if you do the fixed price menu. The food and service is great. You can hear each other talk which is rare in most restaurants today. I highly recommend it.
My wife and I had an amazing time. Ceaser was brilliant and accommodating. We ordered the Tomahawk rib eye and loved every bite. Thanks for an memorable evening.
The tomahawk was amazing along wth the service waiter was super attentive and very helpful 5 stars!!!
Everything about our meal at Travelle was very good, and our waiter Jason was outstanding. Also, I appreciated that the chef was willing to share his recipe for the mostarda that accompanied my rack of lamb entree. The octopus appetizer was grilled to perfection and came with a savory sauce. The dining room is warm and comfortable with a great view of Marina Tower out the dining room window. This is a nice place to go with friends for dinner if you want to carry on a conversation without fighting over noise.
Great for a special occasion or a meal where you want to be able to have a conversation without too much outside noise. Food was very good. Pre Fix lunch meal was a good value. Some of our group chose that, but I didn’t care for the selections myself. Wine selection was good. I would have preferred my white wine to be colder. I just asked for a class of ice.
Easter Brunch-excellent food quality. Exceptional Decor. Didn’t love sitting so far away from the view of the river and beautiful lobby. We felt like we were sitting in a family section rather than the elegant restaurant that we love.
The Easter buffet was amazing. Tables were spaced out and it was not loud. We did not feel crowded or rushed and the variety of food was impressive.
Easter Brunch was amazing and the service was great!
Excellent although quite pricey
Great pre fixe menu option and quiet enough to hear everyone at your table.
The restaurant was a big disappointment. Extremely noisy with really unpleasant music. The food and service were acceptable, but the ambience was really terrible. We would not go again.
The restaurant is beautiful (except for the multi-tiered car barn directly out the window). The menu is limited but sufficient I guess. Our waiter was unintelligible due to his accent and we could tell rote memorization from having any connection or idea to the dishes he was attempting to communicate. We had been ready to go to get to the theater, but our waiter was busy hanging out with female customers. Our sharp busboy noticed what was happening, retrieved our bill for us, brought it to us himself!! Whaaat?? After we paid the bill, and tipped the missing waiter appropriately, I called the busboy over and put a $50 bill in his apron pocket. I would not recommend as a high end restaurant.
I've already recommended your restaurant to others!
The steak/lobster special was absolutely phenomenal and worth every penny. Fabulous service and wine manager.
We were celebrating two birthdays. The staff made us feel really special ending our meal with a complimentary cake and ice cream with a candle for each of us. Our waiter made great food recommendations. We had the express lunch which was a great deal and just the right amount of food. Will definitely go back.
The food and service was outstanding. The salmon poke was very delicious.
First I will tell you I was recommended to Travelle as its a friends favorite place. It was for my wife's Birthday and we like going to new and nice place for each of our B-days -- First we do not eat meat or seafood so the selection was somewhat limited. The service was very good and they did their best to make selections we would be happy with.. We ordered three appetizers , a soup ( which my wife makes better but was OK ) a poke ( which was very spicy and needed to be redone less spicy ) and was very good, and a mushroom dish which was pretty tasteless. The main course was a corn pasta which was very tasty but to me was really more like a side dish not a main course and the Artic Char which was only OK --- We had two deserts the special one which was the best thing for the evening -- and the banana bread pudding which again was only OK. Over all I would say the meal was a C and at those prices I would not come back.. I will tell you that the lobby of the Langham hotel is amazing and worth seeing ---
Great food, service, location, and ambiance! Highly recommended!
Amazing time at the Travelle! Our waiter Jose was wonderful and very attentive. We had the prosecco, buratta appetizer, octopus appetizer, corn spaghetti, and lemongrass chicken. Everything was delicious!
Great food, ambiance and service! Always a consistent winner.
I can not say enough wonderful things about this restaurant! From the welcome we received upon entering I knew this was a special restaurant. Our view from our table was spectacular! The waiters and servers were friendly & offered terrific suggestions! We tried the Asiago bread as an appetizer & it didn’t disappoint! Our entrees were absolutely delicious as well! Steak & frites, tenderloin, and rack of lamb were amazing! Quite possibly the best meal I have ever eaten! Highly recommend!!
Service was excellent, as was ambiance. Meals were presented well and I would have rated food higher as my artic char was perfect, but my spouses' short ribs were unsatisfactory, mostly fat.
Celebrating an engagement with parents
Beautiful interiors. Tasty creative food. Excellent wine choice. Exceptional service.
We both ordered the chilauqiles and I have never had any as miserable as these. It looked like a bunch of whole tortilla chips on one side of the plate and the eggs on the other. The salsa was served in a separate bowl. I asked if we were supposed to pick up the chips with our fingers and dip it in the salsa and the server said the chips were supposed to be eaten with a fork and knife. The chips were hard and crunchy and very difficult to put on a fork! It was laughable. Our server was very nice, however, he forgot to bring the side of sausage we ordered, so we canceled it halfway through our “chips and salsa”. The ambiance was mediocre. It was a distasteful way to end our stay at the Langham hotel.
One of my favourite restaurant and Bar in Chicago. When I am in town I must eat there and I love to hang out at the Bar and lounge and have my business meetings there.
High recommend this restaurant.
We had a lovely dinner. Very attentive service without being pushy. We had a lot of time to relax and enjoy our evening while enjoying amazing food.
We waited over two hours for our food. When it came to our table it was cold and rubbery. Upon sending it back to have it heated they returned to say it would take 10-12 minutes. 45 minutes later we still had no food. This was the biggest disappointment.
This was my first visit and the place is beautiful. Unfortunately the experience wasn’t great- one oyster was bad and it smelled; and the main course took about an hour to arrive after we finished appetizers, and the steak wasn’t proper temperature. We were comped for many items which was appreciated but didn’t have experience I was expecting. Still deciding if I’ll return. Alex
