Felici felt Staten Island was missing a place where guests could share small dishes and appetizers as their whole meal. He's confident that Vinum will satisfy this need.
Food was great, but we were 3 people seated at a table for 2 in a very cold rear tented area. Took a while to have someone take our drink order.
However the food was really amazing - good enough that I would go back.
Food was amazing. Service was stellar. We had a 5pm (party of 4) reservation and while there were open tables in the front room, we were seated in the back. Mind you, the back is an outdoor area that was seasonally converted to be used in the winter. The temperature was a challenge. Cold next to the fabric walls and hot with the heater blowing on you. We asked about a table in the front room when they first took us to the back, and they said the tables up front were reserved. Then our waiter told us you really can’t reserve a specific table. So what’s the truth here? We were the only party relegated to the back. So for that reason I can’t give it 5 stars.
Very nice, cozy place. Excellent food, service was great. I would definitely ho there again.
The service and the food on Valentines Day were excellent. Can’t wait to go back and enjoy the food, ambiance and service! I highly recommended it.
Love, love, love Vinum ! An intimate and cozy restaurant with a friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable staff. Incredibly delicious plates from appetizers to desserts along with amazing wines and cocktails. We had a great experience and we’ll definitely be back.
Food was delicious, however our server could have been more attentive.
After reading the excellent reviews, we knew we had to try this place— and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is small, but very cozy and inviting. We made a reservation a week in advance for a Saturday evening and we were seated right away. We had the veal truffle meatballs, grilled octopus, burrata, and mussels for our appetizers and each one was delicious and cooked perfectly. The wild boar with homemade pappardelle was outstanding! If you’ve never tried it, you should. The veal chop with parma and fontina was also delicious. The menu is so different—in a good way. It will take four or five visits to get to everything we wanted to order. Great wine list, but the mixed drinks were very good as well. Great desserts too. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely one of the best restaurants on the Island.
Their wild boar dishes are consistently delicious, as well as the spaghetti and clam sauce but honestly you cannot go wrong with any of the foid served here.

On an island full of Italian restaurants, there's Vinum and there's everywhere else. Food was absolutely amazing and Massimo is always the warmest of hosts!
From being greeted immediately as we walked in with a smile to the outstanding food service we received, this place is just awesome! The food and wine were out of this world. We had the Italiano meatballs, eggplant parm, and the truffle pasta. We paired all of that with several glasses of Pinot noir. I can’t recommend this place enough! A must go!
The hostess greeted us with enthusiasm. Food was excellent and not run of the mill type entrees and appetizers. Meat balls are delicious. Cocktails are great.

The food is extraordinary. Everything is carefully prepared and done right. It really stands out on the island. So above average. I really can’t say enough about it. Also, awesome wine list.
Amazing dinner, as always! Celebrating our anniversary. Osso bucco was delicious as was the truffle pasta ( a family favorite) Vinum has all the components of a 5 star restaurant. Amazing service! We will see you again soon
Came in from the city for a show and went to Vinum beforehand - divine experience! Our server (Ashley) was amazing and the food was incredible.
Took a prospective Board member to lunch. We all enjoyed our meals and shared some delicious cheeses and a dessert - nice way to start a positive and mutually rewarding relationship.
Fantastic service, authentic Italian fare. Eggplant parm that rivaled my moms!! Everything was delicious. Looking forward to going back & will definitely save room for dessert next time

This was my second time at Vinum. Everything was great. The wait staff was very knowledgeable with regard to the wine list. What's great is they have well over 20 wines by the glass and an extensive wine list. Our food cam out perfect. Great spot! We would go more often however last minute reservations are a challenge for good reason!
Wish we tried this place sooner. We went to celebrate our anniversary. It’s a small place but it’s cozy. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The menu could be a little overwhelming - there are so many options the Specials, small plates, wild meat options, cheese and meats and seafood. It covers it all. The veal meatballs were amazing. I really enjoyed the tomatoe flan in warm bread. Looking forward to going back.

It's a very cute place, very comfortable. We really enjoyed the small plates (especially the porchetta, burrata, and cauliflower flan) and the wines were excellent. Of the entrees that the 4 of us ordered two were excellent: the special rabbit entree and the fresh pasta purses with cheese and mushrooms. The short rib with pappardelle was watery. Everyone liked their desserts too except for the vanilla gelato which tasted like the freezer.

Excellent food and hard to believe it but better service.
My first visit was a week ago, had hesitation on ordering food based on the tomato paste spread that was worse than can tomato paste. The Cheese platter and Butcher board was good. Deserts was OK.
Now comes the 2nd visit last night. Made reservation for the front table for 4 , a week in advance, they seated us against the back wall. Down hill from there. Drinks are over priced ( $14) more ice than liquid, You need to learn how to make Sangria. The $29 Hunters game platter is tasteless. . Asked the waitress what meets , she had no clue. The beet salad and farmers antipasto was good. Once again on the special menu ( Rabbit) - ran out by 5:45 pm. I guess it hopped away! That was twice! The lasagna was salty and it tasted like a meat taco, The BOAR Plate , the pasta wasn't even close to al dente, thank goodness for the basil for favor, how can you ruin LAMB chops ( fry them) dried out and taste like an oil can. The Truffle was good, but drowned in a truffle mushroom sauce, The Apple cake was paste and the crust was burnt, the Panna Cotta was flavorless ( bland) .
The setting is unromantic, tables are cluttered together ( kept getting bumped by severs and guest). The kitchen is unappealing to say the least.
Now the owner, the so called Chef, instead of sitting at the bar, you should be overseeing and making sure the food meets a high quality standing. Far from it, he has no personality. He will be running out of friends soon!
The wine list, the first bottle requested, didn't have. Not one bit of information about the wine flavor, just the price. ( WINE BAR) Looked like it came from a liquor store flyer. After spending over $350.00 for 4 people, what a waist of money and a disappointment to my guests for there birthday. Now they wants to open an AMERICAN bistro across the street, lean how to become a CHEF with pride for your food and respect for your customers. Inform your staff about the food, not just dropping it off on the table.

Fantastic food and service. Pasta with boar ragu was a real standout. Linguine with white clam sauce was best I ever had. Nice small plates options as well. Staff was very friendly and accommodating - seating us an hour earlier than our original reservation - which was no small feat considering the very limited number of tables. Prices were very reasonable for such quality food. Warm chocolate caramel cake, tartufo and pistachio gelato were fabulous desserts. My only suggestion would be to offer non-alcoholic wine and cocktail selections. A wine bar should have no problem having alcohol free wines available.
Great food with a great atmosphere, the menu is a little precise but in a great way. Personally I had the lasagna and I would highly recommend it. The sauce was phenomenal. I had a great experience here. Highly recommend.

Found a restaurant gem! Menu has cuisine for all culinary tastes Not your typical Italian food Country rustic fare. Excellent selection of wines Attentive but not overbearing staff One can enjoy traditional dinner plates as well as small plates Specials are also available Great find that I recommend to all who are searching for an option different from the traditional Italian restaurants on S.I.
