7 days a week from Memorial Day to Labor Day
Located on Route 1 in Cape Neddick (4 miles south of Oqunquit, 4 miles north of York).
The hostess was very nice and accommodating, we were seated right away. We had specified bar seating but will definitely try the main dining room next time to get the full experience. The bar area was very cozy with a warm wood burning fireplace, the bartenders were friendly and helped make the experience a good one.
The bathrooms were clean and well attended to. The food was exquisite. We will be adding Walkers to our “go to list!”
Excellent service! Our waitress explained each dish and answered all of our question. The food was outstanding, each dish looked beautiful. I loved the mix of china plates. The atmosphere an decor was lovely!!! I’m only sorry we were to full to try the amazing desserts!!
Really enjoyed this restaurant on a date with my adult daughter. The food was excellent — a lot was cooked on an open wood burning stove/oven. Home baked bread — yummy. The staff was super friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. I will definitely return the next time I am in Maine.
We have been to this restaurant before and enjoyed it so much we went for our anniversary. Everything was excellent. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable, the food was outstanding and the ambience was perfect. I would highly recommend Walkers and plan to go more often.
fantastic experience all round. Food was outstanding, sfaff friendly, atmosphere lovely.
Great restaurant with warm and inviting staff. Food and drinks were delicious. Can't wait to go back to Maine!!
The space is beautiful. Great imaginative cocktail list, as well as good beer and wine selection. The cocktail made with beet was savory and just a little sweet - delicious and perfectly balanced. The butternut squash fries, smoked duck and key lime pie were all exceptional. Somewhat less successful were the fluke appetizer and the swordfish entree. The fish in the app was unfortunately chopped into small pieces and overpowered by the sauce, person who ordered the swordfish thought it was well cooked but overly spicy.
This review should really be 4 1/2 stars but that wasn't an option. Would recommend, esp for the items suggested above.
Again outstanding food and service.
We enjoyed an early dinner on a Sunday night before making the quick drive into Portsmouth for a show. We started with the butternut squash fries, which were tasty, but seemed a little underdone. (My husband had them the week before and was raving about them). We also had the carrot soup with lobster and it was delicious with so many wonderful flavors. I had the scallops, which were perfectly browned with delicious grits and sunchoke, and my husband had the ribeye, which was excellent. The portions are big (especially if you're used to small plate dining), so we were too full (and ran out of time) for dessert.
The room was wonderful and quiet at that time of the day, but can't wait to go back when it's bustling a bit more.
A+ across the board: the ambiance, creative cuisine, and service is outstanding. Walkers is a breath of fresh air and a much needed addition to the area!
The food at Walkers was some of the best I've ever had. We went to celebrate a birthday and were very satisfied. The service was also beyond compare.....I will definitely be back!
It was our 33rd anniversary- Cassandra brought us a little champagne at the end so we could toast! Nice added touch!
What a treat! We would highly recommend this restaurant.
One of these best dining experiences we have enjoyed. This is exactly what York Maine needs. We can’t wait to dine again on our next trip up!
As always Walkers Maine delivers a great experience. Out of town friends were pleasantly surprised as to the lovely atmosphere, great wine selection and fantastic food. The staff was great as well. Walkers never fails to deliver a great evening.
Beautiful atmosphere, great food and great service
Simply extraordinary! I had a dinner for 9 people to celebrate my wife's Birthday. The food, atmosphere and service all were top notch. Amanda, our server, was great. She was friendly, attentive and well informed about the menu. All our guests couldn't stop talking about how much they enjoyed the evening. We could not be happier. Two big thumbs up!
We loved the food at Walkers- recommended it to family and friends. However we've dined during the week, with this being the first time on a week-end. We were seated next to a large table, very noisy making it difficult to hold a conversation with the two other people at our table (the waitperson apologized for having to raise his voice so much to be heard as he explained something on the menu). Service also suffered and was not as attentive as in the past. Still will recommend, but will advise avoiding week-ends and other busy times.
Over the top good! For starters we ordered the cauliflower appetizer, ordered a 2nd round of house bread just to mop up the savory broth from the cauliflower dish and it got better from there!
Gorgeous decor, polished but friendly service and a thoughtfully delicious menu! Highly recommend!
My husband and I enjoyed a delicious dinner at the bar. Our bartender, Ben, was very knowledgeable. The menu is fantastic, full of local seasonal and sustainable fresh foods which deliver an umami explosion in every bite. The team at Walker's has clearly worked diligently to provide sublime tastes and excellent service. We look forward to our next dinner!
We really want to like this place but it is very inconsistent. On average, the food is okay and service is spotty. Don’t be surprise to find yourself seated for 30 minutes with only water on the table. Also baffling with this place is that you can tell the ingredients are great quality but they somehow make the dishes pedestrian.
Amazing food and ambiance. Our server was JoAnn, who was attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu, but the entire waitstaff ensured we had a memorable experience. We were able to enjoy desser and coffee by the roaring fire and relaxed in an atmosphere where we felt like long lost friends. Definitely returning to this gem!
We've been before, and every time is a treat. Beautiful place, friendly atmosphere, an attitude that they've really thought things out. And the food is very good. We don't usually have desert, but we had a chocolate desert that was just incredible.
Amazing food and drinks a must visit in the York area
Food was creatively put together and beautifully presented. A wonderful meal in a wonderful setting. Thanks to all who make it so!
Our first visit and our server was delightful and very helpful with helping with food choices. Able to chat with chief/owner while looking at their wood fired grill. Will recommend for sure.
GREAT, as always!!! The food, service and atmosphere make for a wonderful experience...time and time again.
We've been to Walkers 4 times previously and always had a great experience. On this occasion however, we were disappointed with the food and preparation. My Pork Chop was over salted, tough on the outer edges and barely rare in the inner portions. My wife's beef brochette was rare to border line raw, and was also over seasoned. Also the availability of wines on the list was limited as they had not stocked up because they are heading on 3 week vacation next week. Pretty poor excuse for not keeping your eye on the ball with food quality, wine list and overall experience.
Seriously one of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time, perfection!!
Intricate menu, well explained by servver. HUGE portions! Really could do two appetizers easily.
Nice ambience near fireplace. Somewhat pricey but very tasty.
This was our second visit and everything was amazing. Job well done
Belated Valentine’s Day celebration. Food was excellent but drinks took a while to get that is our only complaint. They were finely crafted though so that may be why.
Impressive! That is what my husband said as we were leaving. 2nd visit here and just as fabulous as the 1st. Tried the chicken and salmon this time, both outstanding. The roasted cauliflower was as delicious as the 1st visit. And the donuts...no words can describe.
The dining area is very crowded and loud. Food request was not honored.
Great food and the drinks were amazing. Full restaurant on a Friday night. Reservations recommended.
Excellent, as always. Our favorite spot for a night out.
Very nice place. Great service and food is amazing!
Delicious cocktails, great beer interesting and amazing appetizers, perfectly executed entrees. Best place to eat anything in New England period.
Beautifully done restaurant opened less than a year ago. Furnishings include the work of local craftsmen. The food is excellent and service is attentive. We went on a busy evening, Valentines Day, and parking at the restaurant was a challenge. You can pull up to the door to drop people off.
