Wooloomooloo Steakhouse (Wan Chai)
Superb scallops (in chorizo & red pepper sauce) and filet mignon (fillet). One of the best steaks we have tasted. Wine pairing was good - Malbec. Excellent service, very attentive and helped with recommendations. Restaurant was quiet - we ate fairly early and HK was pretty quite due to Coronavirus. After dinner, drinks on the terrace bar which was heated. Superb skyline views of HK and the sound/light show. Overall, a superb evening (and our last on this holiday).

Dinner at 8pm but oysters were sold out, however scallops were excellent.
Steak was unimpressive, medium rare but not seared.
Creamed spinach was far too creamy for my liking.
At these prices one might expect some side dishes to be included.
While the service and ambiance were very good, I was rather disappointed with the meal in terms of value. The sauces and sides were fine, and the steak was cooked to our preference, but the steak wouldn't have been called "seasoned" in my opinion. I have definitely had better steaks at a (much) lower cost in Hong Kong. As well, I was also disappointed that no mention of our reason for going there was acknowledged - a birthday. Despite mentioning it in my reservation request, absolutely no effort was made to recognize this occasion. I was not expecting anything gratis, however, when you have a checkbox in a reservation request that SPECIFICALLY asks if it is a special occasion, I would have assumed that it would have been acknowledged. Ultimately, at HKD$1000 per person, I expected more than just an average meal. Don't think we'll be back, considering all the other wonderful places to eat in HK.

I had wanted to try this place the last time I was in HK but ran out of time. Went there on a Sunday night at 6. I was visiting HK because of work, so dined by myself. I was the only person there until 6:30. I ordered the french onion soup, filet and mashed potatoes. The soup was ok. It lacked more cheese than what you usually get at other steakhouses. The steak was cooked medium and was fine, however it lacked basic seasoning like salt and pepper. I had to add my own. The mashed potatoes were creamy and pretty tasty. Overall not worth the price. Also beware of the bread. It was so hot when they brought it out I think I got a steam burn.

Suprise with the birthday service
Celebrated my daughters 17th birthday. From our first greetings from the hostess, to beverages on the roof top bar, then being taken to our table by the window, our experience at the restaurant was wonderful. The staff were amazing. One of the best restaurant experiences in Hong Kong!
This place sucks. Nothing wrong with the food, or the ambience. But I hate to be greeted by the manager with "kitchen closes 10.30". If you're so concerned with when the kitchen closes, why even bother to seat guests with a reserved table that actually arrived before time?
And to add insult to injury, main courses arrive midway into appetizers. And the bill thrown at the table before we even asked for it. Once again, if you can't serve your guests with a smile or just plain courtesy, don't seat them to begin with
Excellent! The ambience is the first thing that will captivate you -- the views of Hong Kong are great. The service is spot on. The menu is a broad (not just steak) and the preparation was very good. Wine list is very reasonably priced. Great choice in Hong Kong. The roof top bar is a great stop after or before dinner.
We enjoyed the meal and experience, had a very good evening. The only disappointment was that I had indicated it was our anniversary and this went unacknowledged through the evening.

our waiter was attentive and explained everything to us, except that the water was an additional $70:00.
I found this to be unacceptable.
The food tasted great, BUT, it was just warm, almost unacceptable. It seemed to me because we had ordered 1 entree' that the kitchen calculated a duration when the main course should be served. We hadn't finished the duck breast entre' when it was whisked away and the cold main meal was placed before us. Definitely unacceptable. Would we recommend your establishment, NO, over priced, hidden water cost, and cold food. Only the view from the roof-top bar saved the evening. Otherwise it would have been VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Let down by the weak onion soup and surprisingly bland and thin red wine sauce that accompanied the steak. Quite expensive for what it offered.

If you are after good food, great views and value for money I would recommend other restaurants although this restaurant was not of a poor standard. Lift is also some what confusing.
great ambiance, amazing view and family friendly for a Sunday dinner
Our so-called Cajun steak was barely Cajun, under-cooked and, frankly, not very nice. We did not finish it. The greeting and waiting staff were okay, but not overly welcoming and helpful and, amongst the waiting staff, there was a good deal of fooling around, for example, with one particular waiter intentionally bumping into a waitress and laughing and, on another occasion, pushing her (or another waitress) behind her knees. It is clear that there is little discipline amongst the staff of this restaurant, with the deficiencies obviously being the result of lax management. Better steak, at better prices and with better service are available elsewhere in Hong Kong. This is my second visit to Wooloomooloo Wanchai. It was okay the first time and has deteriorated. Its only saving grace is the view. I will not go to Wooloomooloo again.
food quite disapointing, the view is wonderful but big plants hide it from certains tables, music too loud.
Sehr nette Atmosphäre mit tollen Ausblick. Um am Fenster zu sitzen muss man erst nachfragen, obwohl ich es in die Reservierungsanfrage als besonderen Wunsch angegeben habe. Nach dem Essen haben wir noch einen Cocktail in der rooftop bar getrunken. Da war auch alles super!
I took my mom there for a bonding night and she really enjoyed it. We ordered the grass-fed filet Mignon and the Atlantic Cod with 2 side dishes (mushrooms and breaded onion rings). They were all delicious. My mom also ordered a glass of Penfolds riesling which she thought was nice too.

Great restaurant for a nice dinner in Hong Kong. Not only do you get a very delicious cut of beef, you also get an amazing view.
Started the night with a good wine from Australia, there are plenty of good wines from around the world. We had the steak tartare as a starter, the beef used in this dish is quite good, very flavorful and nicely prepared.
For entrees, we ordered the Wooloomooloo ribeye and the sirloin. The ribeye was fantastic, very tasty, cooked perfectly, and served with an amazing peppercorn sauce. The sirloin had a great flavor, but was a bit tough/dry like sirloin typically is.
Definitely a great place to visit for a good dinner, cocktails and a view. Stick with the ribeye.
Perfect evening, followed by drinks up on the rooftop with great tunes and friendly attentive service. Only downside was the toilet facilities, only on the restaurant floor and one ladies toilet so always a queue and had to go down the staircase everytime.

Two of us ordered the rib eye and both were very happy with their steak. I ordered the beef wellington, medium well. In retrospect, i should have ordered it medium becuase the steak came slightly overcooked, as is the foie gras. Perhaps because the steak was thick and covered in pastry.
Enjoyed the overall experience. Wait staff was efficient, and booking was very simple.
Price / Value is not really being met, although the meat was very tasty. It is just too expansive for what it is. The lication is nice.
Definitely worth value however server that collect the bill could use some smile otherwise server that was serving the table is friendly and regularly checked up on us and the ambience is wonderful would def visit with family and friends again
This restaurant was good some years ago. Now it’s way too expensive and food is very poor. It’s tasteless and you can feel the chef has not done a good job. The location and the view is very good but it doesn’t help if the food is bad and overpriced. This was my last visit to this restaurant

The rooftop was bar was excellent.
The food was nice but for the extremely high prices I expected a lot better. It wasn’t the best steak I’ve had even though it was probably double the price.
The restaurant is extremely dark for some reason? I don’t think I’d go back.
