Food was very good. Background music was loud.
Amazing experience. Food was absolutely fantastic. Hands down the best dinner in the city of Philadelphia.
Service and food were perfection!
Every dish we ordered was unique and a surprising blend of flavors but it was the service that was over the top. Every server new menu inside and out and accommodated our specific requests with precision!
Incredible meal with excellent service. Highly recommend the cauliflower, haloumi, and hanger steak!
Amazing as always... celebrated our engagement there and had a great meal. Love the Turkish hummus...it’s always the best!
All around an amazing experience. Great, innovative food, attentive service, nice atmosphere. We had a wonderful night out and definitely will be back. Thank you!
Excellent food and atmosphere as always. The service is superb. Definitely our favorite place to go in all of Philadelphia and Jersey. We go to Zahav for all of our special occasions because it’s a guarantee to be an excellent experience every time.
Amazing food!! Come hungry :)
I would recommend Zahav to anyone who enjoys great food and appreciates a food adventure. Explore Zahav you too will LOVE it. My friends were impressed also. Thank you for a truly great eating experience.
Chef’s fixed menu was amazing!
One of, if not the best, dining experience of my life last evening!
As anyone will say, the food and service is exceptional. 4 of us had the Taste of Zahav (Tayim). Small plates, but more than enough food. Plenty of vegetarian/Vegan friendly dishes in the assortment. Not a disappointment; just impossible to get a reservation.
Consistently high quality and interesting, innovative food. Nothing else like it in Phila. Service is topnotch and friendly.
Service was extraordinarily good
The food is the most interesting I've come across in Philadelphia and that alone makes it worth going to. Most everything was tasty. The salatim remains the best thing on the menu in my opinion (I've been here three times now). Chocolate konafi is exquisite. Service is impeccable and friendly as always.
Really, there are only two concerns:
1) I know this sounds strange -- but it's actually too much food. My girlfriend and I ordered the pomegranate lamb which I guess only came with the tasting menu. This meant we got 15 plates of food. I mean... 15. By the time the pomegranate lamb even arrived, we could barely even put more food in our stomachs we were so full.
2) The pomegranate lamb. I had been told this was their top dish that could only be ordered in the winter, which was the main reason we went recently. However, there didn't seem to be any pomegranate with it -- which meant it was essentially very nicely cooked lamb... but without much spicing to it. Perhaps ours was a dud?
Overall, still absolutely worth going to -- but I would recommend not choosing the tasting menu and just ordering ala carte.
This was one of the most amazing meals I have ever eaten. Zahav REALLY is worth all of the hype.
Zahav is the hardest place to get a restaurant in Philly- ironic because the chef's counter was wide open when we arrived. The hostess easily changed our reservation from a three to a two earlier in the day which was appreciated. We arrived slightly early and they accommodated us quickly. Unfortunately, we were seated in the pathway to the kitchen, literally excluded from the restaurant. The table was clearly an afterthought. We ordered the daily hummus of carrots and marcona almonds, the six daily salads, halloumi, fried cauliflower and hanger steak. The hummus with laffa came out quickly and the salads weren't far behind. When the salads were dropped, we were asked if we wanted more laffa to which we said yes- unfortunately it never came until we asked for it a second time and it arrived after the rest of our meal. Rookie move, Zahav. The halloumi was AMAZING. Almost like a dessert (think of a fancier cheese blintz). The cauliflower was good, but I wish it had come out prior to the halloumi as we would've thought it was better. The hanger was really good, came with rice and some other accompaniments. My sister is a pastry chef in the city so we were most excited about dessert. We ordered the custard and the chocolate konafi. The custard is a must order (with the halloumi)!!!! So good! The chocolate konafi threw me off. The chocolate ganache was reallllly good, but odd for a konafi. It really overpowered. I've traveled to the Middle East and eaten many konafis so I might have just been hoping for a more traditional taste. But with that being said, the chocolate itself was very good. I wasn't a big fan of the sweet potato ice cream. It never melts...... even as it sat there while waited overly long for our server to return so we could get the check. Can't imagine the stabilizers in it! As we walked out, we both said "wow this restaurant is so nice- wish we could've been a part of it". Move tables if you get stuck in the kitchen entrance!
Our server Ben was fantastic. Make sure you let him know that we really enjoyed dinning with him. The food is always amazing. I have celiac so the kitchen was too kind in accommodating me. Everything was perfect and us ladies really enjoyed our evening, so thank you so much and we’re sure to be back again in the future.
Delicious. The hype around Zahav is correct.
Absolutely horrible. Waiter was rude. Food tasted like pure vinegar. We saw Bobon so that was cool.
The service was REALLY, really good. I forget her name but she said she is normally a bartender and sometimes serves but she was awesome. We went on a Saturday night for my husband's 35th birthday. The hostess/sommelier helped me set up a champagne toast for when we first got there. Timing was great as far as how the food and drinks came out. Fried cauliflower and the chicken kabob were REALLY good and the custard dessert was honestly one of the best things I've ever had. If I had to give one negative it would just be that it is difficult to make a reservation/get in touch with any employee that works there. You have to go on Open Table at midnight 60 days before the reservation you need to book. I needed a table of 6 but it wouldn't let me book it for whatever reason so I booked a table of 4 and then a table of 2. The manager ended up being able to get us a 6 top table but it took about 3 weeks to actually speak to someone that could help me. No matter what day or time you call, you are directed to voicemail which can be difficult when you're playing phone tag. Either way, I'd go through the headache of booking because everything else was really that good.
Great service. We did the tasting menu and it was plenty of food. Each course had something for everyone. Great experience.
A perfect restaurant experience. The best I've ever had.
We had a wonderful dinner
Each course was better than the next . Service was attentive but not rushed
I even chatted with Michael about his eggplant dish as we was making hot laffa
Lindsay, our server, was very helpful with our order. Since we all wanted to try the Lamb Shoulder, we ordered the tasting menu+. We loved each dish that was served, but especially the hummus, flat bread, mezze and, best of all, the Lamb Shoulder. The four desserts were amazing and shouldn’t be missed. We will be back!
Music is very loud. I love this restaurant but every time I go music is loud and I got a headache from it last night. We had a hard time talking at the tables. Couldn’t hear each other so we were yelling so it wasn’t. Relaxing dinner.
Zahav was delicious and even better than I had hoped! Every single thing we had was amazing. Can’t wait to go back!
We drive over 2 hours to eat at Zahav, and it is worth it! The food and service are amazing. The staff is extremely knowledgeable about the menu and all of the ingredients, and can make educated recommendations after asking a few questions. We always order the smaller versions of the foods - so that we can order more! Truly the best place to eat in Philadelphia.
The food was terrific and the service was mostly attentive but one person in our group of 4 didn’t get her entree until the rest of us had finished.
Amazing. Cannot wait to return! Service was outstanding and the food was over the top!
Amazing as always!
We loved the food at Zahav! The food here is simply out of the world! We are vegetarians and mentioned this to the lady who called us to confirm our reservation the day before. We were pleasantly surprised that the waitress handed us a menu card that was prepared especially for us, that highlighted vegetarian dishes from the menu! I have never felt special! The service was very good. They got us food compliments of the kitchen too. The only complaint was that the portion sizes were a bit small, but the food was very tasty. I will definitely recommend Zahav and come back again!
Dinner at Zahav was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had! Exceeded even its lofty expectations.
The customer service was amazing and very attentive! The noise in the restaurant made it lively and fun. Food was amazing as well. While some dishes didn’t fit my taste buds, others were extremely delicious and well presented!
Every bite was a taste explosion! Spices, herds, flavors like we have never met before! Presentation is gorgeous. We were given a gift card...best gift EVER!
Zahav was a phenomenal experience from stepping in the door to finishing the last scoop of dessert. I will recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone. The food, the staff, the atmosphere exceeded all expectations. If you’ve already been lucky you, if not get booking!!!!
I can’t wait to come here again!! The staff was so friendly and accommodating; the service was impeccable and our waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful. And the food was superb!! Now I know why it good so long to get a reservation!! Wonderful!!!!
