- AAlexLondon •6 reviews4.0Dined 2 days agoVisited The Bailiwick Free House again yesterday. We live nearby and come here regularly because, honestly, the combination of the location next to Windsor Great Park, the gastro pub menu, the atmosphere and the quality of the food makes this one of the best places in the area - especially on a warm sunny evening. The food was excellent as usual, and the staff themselves were friendly, attentive and professional throughout the evening. The problem is not the team serving guests - it is a very strange new management decision regarding seating. Despite beautiful weather (+25°C and sunshine), outdoor tables were apparently not being used for service, and guests were also discouraged from sitting in the lovely front area with natural light and views of the greenery outside. Instead, everyone was concentrated into the rear room near the kitchen exit - a stuffy semi-basement space which is probably the least pleasant area in the whole pub. It honestly felt like the new manager was trying to create an artificial impression of a “busy buzzing atmosphere” by packing everybody into one room, regardless of guest comfort or the actual strengths of the venue. This completely misses the point of why people come to The Bailiwick in the first place. The location, the views, the air, the summer atmosphere and connection to the park are a huge part of its charm. I already mentioned this directly yesterday because it genuinely spoiled the experience for us. It is frustrating to see such a fantastic venue undermined by an unnecessary and frankly misguided seating policy. We still love the place itself, the kitchen and the staff - but if this becomes the new normal, we will honestly think twice before returning.More infoThe Bailiwick Free House££££• British• Egham•4.7
- CCarolineLondon •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoWe went to the Taste of England dining experience at No15, and I cannot praise it enough. Starting from a drink in the tranquil garden, through every course, to the petit fours everything was perfect. I enjoyed learning about the wines, and trying things I wouldn't have picked myself. Highly recommend!More infoNo.15 Restaurant & Bar££££• British• Chobham•4.8
- EElizabethLondon •6 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoDecided to go to The Loch and Tyne for our wedding anniversary as we had heard that the food was lovely. Had a good corner table for 2 which was just right. Having looked at the menu , hubby had fish and chips which looked and tasted delicious. I had the sea bass special and as I didn't want the shellfish sauce, the sea bass was cooked in butter and it was yummy. We started with sourdough bread and various toppings together with cheese doughnuts . Very tasty. The desserts were chocolate fondant and panna cotta . I was so full that I could not do justice to the chocolate fondant which was such a shame as it was very morish. We had a glass of white wine each , chardonnay and a Sicilian one, both of which complemented the meal. I particularly noticed that there was no salt or pepper on the table but I didn't need the seasonings as the food was well seasoned and to my liking. We particularly liked the ambience. Whilst 2 tables were occupied with young children , they did not impact on our enjoyment at all. When we left, we were given a card wishing us a happy anniversary. We were very touched. Would we recommend the The Loch and Tyne - definitely YES! Would we go back - certainly will!More infoThe Loch & The Tyne by Adam Handling££££• British• Windsor•4.6
