Great Date night venue / romantic water-view/ band of local talented musicians performed/ music was excellent
Great wine selection including champagne
Perfect for everyday dining and special occasions
Food was very good and the service was above average. Great Friday Night Vibe!
This was a quick stop as we were passing through. Great Lake views and we practically had the entire place to ourselves because it was a late lunch. My hubs and I split the Club Sandwich- Probably one of the best we’ve EVER had 💙
Tried the ribs and they were very good. I had the grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes as sides. The ribs were well seasoned and tender. The portion size was generous. My wife had the chicken strips and enjoyed them very much. Service was very good. The atmosphere was friendly as people chatted with friends, neighbors and first timers. The view was beautiful and people sat out and enjoyed the lake breezes.
The food was delicious. The service was spot-on. The view was to die for. We always enjoy dining at The Landing at Chandler's.
The outside setting was fabulous. We enjoyed watching all the boating activity over excellent cocktails.
Our server Rachel was very friendly and attentive.
The Landing has a gorgeous view of Lake Ray Hubbard- we got to eat out on the deck ! The food was delicious and TGIF service was excellent! Will and crew were very friendly !
The perfect place to end the day with a sunset and great dinner!
Our waiter, Andrew, was great and was doing the best he could, but, our dinner took 1 1/2 hours to arrive because the staff was extremely understaffed. The ribs were dry and too spicy. The club sandwich was awesome and the smoked salmon was amazing.
We went to Sunday brunch and Andrew was our waiter again. Brunch was awesome and the Bloody Mary's were sooo good.
Enjoyed but not sure why we have to go to Open table to reserve. Every time we do we walk in and it says sear yourself. First time was told doesn't matter sit wherever. .
I've long been a skeptic of the restaurant because of business decisions surrounding its reopening and how it could affect my HOA dues and home value, but we decided to try the restaurant Sunday evening for the first time and were honestly blown away.
The ambiance was perfect outside for the last couple of hours of daylight with a beautiful settings sun, and the sounds of a winding down lake and marina. They let us sit wherever we wanted on the deck and we were able to get a perfect spot for our family of 4.
We ordered appetizers and drinks and all were excellent. They had a decent variety of beer on tap and the 2 i ordered came out cold. My wife wanted sweet tea and though they only serve unsweet they brought her some simple syrup from the bar to make her own...which was a win. We got chicken nachos and mozzarella sticks and the nachos were great. My extremely picky kids loved the mozzarella sticks and asked for more when they polished them off.
We ordered dinner and all 4 dishes were huge portions, cooked and seasoned perfectly, and we all left stuffed.
I came in as a foodie who cooks excellent meals at home and only eats out when I know it will be great expecting to be disappointed and couldn't have been more wrong.
We will definitely be back and won't hesitate to recommend to friends.
The only even slight negative was that they were way understaffed for the quantity of guests which resulted in pretty long wait times, but that just meant we got to take our time and enjoy the sunset. If we had been in any kind of hurry it could have been an issue, but this isn't that kind of place.
Went on July 4th for first time. I was surprised there were so many people walking around from the pool in bathing suits. It was a little too casual for me. Nice outside patio overlooking Lake. The food was good and so was our waiter until it got really busy and then he disappeared. We had to find someone to pay our bill. Not sure if I will come back. I guess I was spoiled when Allure was here!
Such a difficult review to write. The food was very good. We had the Reuben, half rack of ribs (which was huge), and a burger with gouda. The service was attentive and friendly. My issue, not complaint, is that this isn't really a restaurant, it's more a bar. PLEASE SEAT YOURSELF kind of defeats the purpose of making reservations on OpenTable. It's a small seating area by a country club bar. People were walking in and out in bathing suits. There was a man in the restroom with his wet shirt hanging from a light fixture giving himself a washcloth bath at the sink.
From other reviews, the owner has recently turned this place around, and as I said, the food was excellent and the service as well. I get that OpenTable is probably good for exposure, especially with the limited choices in the Rockwall area.
Good food, good service, reasonable prices, unparalleled atmosphere and views, what is not to like?
Dr. Bruce Paton
They should be advertised as bar, not a restaurant.
Great seat on the porch with a view of sailboats returning to the harbor with the setting sun as the background. Food and service getting better and a nice variety of choices on the menu.
Obviously working on some start up kinks.
Great food if could’ve been served sooner and hot.
We plan to support and give it another chance.
We enjoy our date nights and family nights at The Landing. Staff is friendly, everything is laidback and the sunsets are awesome!
Another enjoyable outing to The Landing for a fine meal. Under Will's supervision, The Landing has turned into a place to be. The food was prepared exactly as we asked and the menu selection provides a good variety from which to select. It provides a wonderful dining experience in a casual environment, the exact combination for which most are searching.
Took our extended family, sat outdoors. The shrimp, crabcakes, catfish and ribs were awesome! It was very busy but our waitress was attentive, friendly and proficient . And the view...fabulous!
We had another enjoyable lunch at the Landing today. The atmosphere was friendly and we were able to converse at normal speaking levels. It was not crowded, which was very nice. Service was friendly and attentive, but non intrusive. There were several new items on the menu that we had not yet tried and I plan return so that I can try the Cajun fettuccini and the ribs. For lunch we had the Thai Chile hot wings and the chicken spinach salad, followed by the brownie sundae. It was all very good with generous portions. Once again we were visited by the manager and each member of the staff to see if all of our needs were met.
Great views, relaxed setting, continuously improving menu and service.
We went to the Landing this weekend. The service was friendly but very slow and not very attentive when the food finally arrived, the appetizers and main course came out together which was odd but by then I was grateful for any food. The food itself was actually very good. With better trained and more staff this could be a good place to go.
Family dinner celebrating Mother’s Day. Was somewhat surprised at the very casual dining room (no tablecloths, no hostess seating guests) however the friendly staff and delicious food made up for the casual ambiance. Catfish was flaky and delicious. French fries were salty and had great flavor. Serving sizes were very large - but everyone enjoyed their meal. We never felt rushed and had a lovely festive meal - 80 year old great-grandmother down to 17-month old all enjoyed the time together and the “down home” meal.
Very good service on a busy evening. Food was good too
We have dined at this venue several times but under prior ownership and other names. I made a reservation which really wasn't needed. We told them we had a reservation but no one seemed to care. I checked the website first as we were unsure they had opened since it had been over a year since our last visit. The website had nothing to indicate they were having a Cinco de Mayo celebration and that it was buffet only. Had we known this we probably would have skipped until another time. The food was okay. Service was okay but definitely nothing outstanding. The surroundings are always a treat to eat lakeside. We were a bit early to enjoy the sunset but they closed at 8 so that wasn't going to work very well. Husband wants to give them another try. I'm not so sure.
I love the salmon, it is served on mashed potatoes with asparagus.
Healthy and tasty.
They paid someone to market the place well, but the really fell far short. I made reservations and when we arrived the place was seat yourself and my reservation was for a corner in the back of the bar, not in a nice spot on the patio.
Million$ view and they are nothing more than a club house for the neighborhood. Over priced, poor food quality, when food was sent back for being cooked improperly; they fixed three main but over salted the sides, my guess is revenge...
As always, service, food, atmosphere were outstanding. Manager Will Crain goes out of his way to connect with us, and all customers during their visit, a very nice personal touch.
We arrived earlier than most diners and there were a few customers at the bar and a few at tables. Our menus were brought promptly and our drink orders taken. The service was prompt. The food arrived quickly and the presentation was very nice. The asparagus on one of our party's plate was a bit stringy and it was replaced without question. The staff is very anxious to assure each diner's experience is a great one. I highly recommend The Landing for a pleasant dining experience.
Food was overcooked, dry, and not at all what we were expecting for an Easter Brunch. The drinks were great. Our table companions were great. IF we come back next year, we expect to see eggs Benedict and quiche. Dessert was great. Table settings were over the top in beautiful and cuteness.
I made a reservation for Easter brunch. I had looked at their website and no mention of a buffet. We were seated at a table with others. Overpriced buffet with mediocre food. Might attempt once more to go and order off menu. The view of the lake is what sells.
If you haven’t decided where to go for brunch, I highly recommend the Landing at Chandlers. I just had one of the best brunch experiences ever today. From the great omelet station, fresh salmon, succulent ribs, Marsala chicken to the dessert cakes, everything was fresh and delicious. Complimentary valet parking and attentive wait staff complimented by the best view in Rockwall made for another memorable holiday meal by the lake. Brunch is from 11:00 to 3:00. Thank you to the watchful eye of the Landing management and staff!
Nice evening over looking a beautiful lake view
New menu items with many selections
The Landing at Chandlers is not a restaurant. It is an entertainment venue/social club that has food available if you are not very picky about what you eat, how long it takes to get it, or that it is overpriced.
There was no one to greet us at the door when we entered, so we just wandered around until we found our name on a tented piece of paper at the end of a long table that sat about 30 people (how intimate). As for the food, my catfish basket was okay, but half of my wife's wedge salad was inedible. It took almost an hour to arrive after we ordered. Our waiter was kind enough to stop by at one point to let us know that the kitchen was running a little behind, yet we saw very little food being delivered. He did stop several times to ask if we wanted more wine. The price of the meal was not too unreasonable, but one small glass of the house red wine was $10. The only reason I gave the place an overall rating of 3 stars is because of the band - named Remedy - which was playing. They were very good and were indeed the remedy that saved the evening from being a total disappointment.
Came to hear band. Food was good. Good price
It was one of the First Friday’s with nice / outdoor weather we have had this season. Seemed as if the services team got caught in the weeds a tad bit , but once our order was taken everything was great. Even saw management, running food, cleaning tables , etc!! So glad to the major improvements the venue has made.
The lake view is priceless and the food’s not bad either! Nice to hop on the golf cart and go to sunset & dinner!
Great food! Order off the new menu1
Outstanding food and service...nice to catch up with old and new friends!
