Love this place, however the service we received outside was very slow. It appeared as though they need more staff or more attentive wait staff.
What a disappointment! Did not live up to the hype at all. The menu is full of interesting sounding fusion dishes but we ordered just tasted terrible. The only decent dishes were basic Mac and Cheese and plain pancakes from the kids menu. Everything else was greasy and tasted terrible.
Food and drinks were great, but service was incredibly slow. Too slow for a place with the reputation like Little Goat. Although Zachary is very easy on the eyes, he captained the USS Space Cadet last night.
Really cute for a special meal outing! Service was attentive and great
The restaurant was too noisy for conversation inside but we were able to be seated outside which was lovely. Food very good and wait staff and greeters were exceptionally friendly and accommodating
Had a group from out of town for a work event. Most of the locals here in Chicago raved about the food- which lived up to it. However, we had the worst service. It took 15 mins for our server to come over, then another 20 mins for drinks. Our food took over 30 mins. The entire group was starving before the food came out. We attempted multiple times to get anyone's attention. Finally the food came and all of us stuffed it down because it took so long. Ready to leave, our waiter disappeared so I ended up having to ask the front desk for out check.
Great menu and great service!
The food was fantastic, especially since I am gluten free! I was very happy to see they had a gluten free menu with a variety of options and my server was very knowledgeable about gluten free options. A huge table came in right before my reservation so it took quite a while to get our drinks and our orders in but they gave us our fries on the house because of the delay which I appreciated. (I recommend you get the fries with their house-made mayo!)
It’s a great upscaled diner experience. This was my second visit and it was even better than the first. The patty melt with goat was probably the best I’ve ever had. Many napkins were needed however. The chocolate cake was also worth it alone.
Food was incredible. Servers were super kind and accommodating. We sat outside at a table surrounded by fresh flowers! If anyone was loud, it was my kids at our table. They let us order off the kids' menu with 'special add-ons'. Coffee was strong and great -- they weren't super fast/regular with the coffee refills, though, that'd be my only 'note'. I can't wait to return.
The Little Goat was very accommodating. The server made great recommendations, the food came out timely, and I had a great friends get together there. I would go back again.
Most of the food was delicious but the Caesar salad was dry and fairly flavorless compared to other items.
It was fantastic! Great food and service!!
Food and service was excellent. The dishes may sound simple and ordinary but are nothing but. Everything here is excellent.
Good creative food, attentive service!
Great food! Unique menu, cocktails were great as well
Delicious as always. Our party tried both standard breakfast fare and creative specials, and all were wonderful.
Shareable portions, unique menu,
Great place, especially breakfast and lunch. Sort of an upscale diner feel, retro touches but with a central skylight! Food is wonderful, not your typical stuff. Prices are really no more than other nearby places in the West Loop, but superior food for sure. Definitely recommend.
Really interesting and unique food variety and ingredients
Always a treat when we are in
The city. So fresh and creative.
Cute place, service was a little slow but food was good
Delicious food and great service. Staff was friendly and helpful. I expected great food from a Stephanie Izard space and was not disappointed.
Terrible. I have taken my team to duck duck goat three times over the past few months, table of eight, amazing! Truly exceptional. We thought we’d try Little Goat. The food was OK, nothing great, but the service was absolutely horrible. We had two servers that didn’t know what they were doing. And apothetic. Got the wrong food three times, and they did not care. At all. Not even an apology. The last remake took 35 minutes, the rest the table was already done eating of course. Super disappointed, and will never return.
An overrated and disappointing experience. This place is built on hype rather and performance. The food was sub par. Service is mediocre. There are many other places that are better. I would not go back
We were really disappointed with the bread they serve for breakfast. It tastes like cheap pre sliced supermarket bread (we expected fresh bread from their bakery). The menu is VERY meat heavy and there are very limited options for vegetarians.
Great service - very helpful! The food was yummy - great and interesting combinations - the 6 of us , for the most part, tried different things so we could all try bites of each other’s - yummy! Definitely recommend.....make a reservation!!
I have been to Little goat now a few times and it has been consistently amazing. I have had different servers, I've been there at different times, I've been they're both during the week and on weekends. It doesn't matter. I highly recommend this place if you desire slightly more upscale diner food in a bustling neighborhood with great atmosphere.
I ordered from the Gluten Free menu, which was supplied to me flawlessly by the host upon arrival. I ordered my meal, started eating it and thought to verify that the dish I ordered (Shrimp noodles) was in fact gluten free. The server said, no, that I was eating were "the normal noodles we have". I told him, I ordered off the gluten free menu and he asked if he could box up my food. My boyfriend and I paid for our meals and we left, leaving my boxed up dish behind. I love this place but this time was offended by the service from our waiter.
Loved the service we received at our recent post-theatre meal. Happy to be able to bring our kiddo to a Stephanie Izard restaurant -- family friendly setting, children's menu available. Machos Nachos, Campfire S'mores Sundae, and Cookies, Cookies n' Cream Shake were the highlights. Entrees were just so-so -- ribs tasted reheated and were mostly bone, very little meat. Will return to try something from the breakfast side of the menu.
The service was great! We loved the food!
The service here was phenomenal -- very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu options. Unique menu options. Flavors were well balanced and complemented each other beautifully. Would highly recommend.
Had reservations for 9:45 on a Saturday morning. Arrived and seated within 5 minutes. Wait staff was excellent as always. The food, ugh, it's so damn good. I've tried something different each time I've been there and have yet to experience anything less than amazing. If you're in the mood for something a little different and want to explore some of the best Chicago's breakfast scene has to offer, Little Goat Diner is for you. Hell, if you want bomb nacho's on a Saturday morning stop on by because we got those yesterday and they didn't disappoint either. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in Chicagoland.
As a couple in the service industry, my girlfriend and I are always looking for great places to eat with out breaking the bank. And let me tell you this is it. From the valet, to the host, to the bussers, to server, everything was top notch. I found myself feeling adventurous tonight and asked our server, Caroline, to surprise me with her favorite starter and entree on the menu. To start off she sent us the elotes. So damn delicious I almost passed out. The house-made chipotle mayo, the chili powder, and the lime made such a simple dish come alive. She also sent over an order of Szechuan broccoli, also off the charts, and on the house, too!!! So sweet of her. For dinner my girlfriend got the “all-American” beef burger. In the car she said, and I quote “I swear to god I’d sell my soul for another one of those burgers”. Caroline sent me the watermelon beef dish, and although I forgot the exact description, she was able to describe it perfectly. It was a busy night, and I for one know how hard it is to perfectly describe the dish in the middle of a rush, but Caroline nailed it. She made us laugh and really made the night for us. For that I left her a 100% tip without hesitating. Dear Little Goat, thank you for an amazing night.
The food and drinks were fantastic (the Bread of the day was unbelievable). Additionally our server was super friendly as well. Definitely going back!
Great food and cocktails. Great server although the kitchen was a bit backed up and slow getting food out, not an unacceptable wait, however.
We had brunch at the Little Goat. We enjoyed the diner decor and atmosphere. The food was very good, as we expected from the owners of The Girl and The Goat. The service was a little too casual, especially for such a pricey “diner.” Overall, a fun (but not inexpensive) breakfast or lunch spot.
Energetic diner atmosphere. A bit loud but not in s bad way.
My only criticism was the service; the food came out sporadically, bar was apparently backed up, so drinks we very slow to arrive & then waiter was not attentive, esp when it came to reordering cocktails.
Although, still a fun place w good food. Would return :)
Was a little disappointed this time around—food was not great, my fried chicken had a lot more fried skin than meat, Moms chicken Caesar salad barely had chicken. There we five of us: two of us had to wait 15 minutes after three of us were served to get food.
Food was innovative and the combinations really worked!
