Matt's in the Market
Located in Seattles Pike Place Market, Matts in the Market offers fresh, elegant American cuisine. The restaurant sources its ingredients from the Pike Place farmers market and is able to provide a vibrant and seasonally rotating menu as a result. Matts in the Market has a full bar that includes an extensive wine selection.
Start out your meal at Matts in the Market with the deviled eggs or another appetizer like the chips and hot bacon and caramelized onion dip. Choose from entres like the falafel or the market fish of the day. Top off your experience with a delicious dessert like the honey Trinity cream or the pumpkin pie bread pudding.
Food and service were incredible. Couldn’t recommend this place more!
Totally overrated. Cannot figure out why people rave about this restaurant? We have eaten at many great restaurants including Radiator Whiskey across the Hall and LOVED it. It was quiet and food was fine-nothing to go back for...
AND..they do not have Diet Coke!
Our experience was fantastic. Quiet but lively atmosphere with a nice selection of wines at varying prices. Food was delicious and we particularly enjoyed the roasted halibut and scallops. The appetizers were delicious- we had a beef carpaccio with soft boules eggs and a fish with a corn and Serrano chili salsa. Delicious!
Best dining experience in many years overall and on every level.
Friends from New York in town (one has never been to Seattle before )...
Our server was amazing the the support servers were also very good. The food was amazing and everyone enjoy their choices. We had a great table by a window overlooking the market. Thank you for a great night.
Reliably wonderful! A true insider’s restaurant and always my first meal whenever I am in Seattle!
Great food and service. Will go back for sure. A bit loud and no fountain drinks so as a diet Coke drinker that was a minus, but overall very good!
my favorite spot in town, great place. Great food, great wine
This was honestly one of the best meals I've ever had.
Lovely early evening meal. Enjoyed broad range of tasty offerings from appetizer menu + salad and Fried Carrots. Food was creative, colorful, flavorful. Great service.
Eating at Matt's for our many special occasion meals is as good as eating with our far-flung coastal families. Warm...caring...and....quite delicious !! It always takes us back......a comforting feeling that goes well beyond the superb menu!
We have already recommended you to several friends. Everything about our dinning experience was outstanding, including the ease of making our reservation online.
Muy mala atención. Cuando aún estábamos cenando, la sommelier trajo la cuenta, al decirle que todavía no terminábamos, la aventó a la barra del bar... en un restaurante de $100 usd por persona deberían ser más amables.
Exceptionally good salads, friendly service, nice outlook to the market. Was on a limited timeframe and server was responsive to that need. Will always look forward to a lunch at Matt’s
Always a treat to go to Matt’s. The location and the seating overlooking the bustling Pike’s Marketplace, the casual feel to the place and of course the excellent food makes it my favorite restaurant in downtown Seattle. Great service and friendly folks top off the experience each time. Our two seafood meals were both excellent and the cozy table for two right next to the open window overlooking Pike Pl. was perfect. Looking forward to the next time I’m back. If you haven’t been, plan on having a reservation for lunch unless you have 90’ to spare waiting (on a light day) and if you want dinner...plan ahead at least a week to get the day and time you want.
I’ve been to Matt’s several times and it never disappoints. Love the Cobb salad and view of the Market. Service is always very good and, for downtown Seattle, prices are pretty good, too.
We enjoyed the location and setting very much. This is a very pleasant oasis at the crowded market. The food was delicious and the staff very pleasant and attentive. We stayed and lingered, visiting for over 2 hours and they were gracious. Thanks.
Our waitress was great and attentive. The host gave us a great spot at the window. However the food was marginal. Had a watermelon crab salad and there was very little crab in the salad. Should have just been called a watermelon salad. The couple that sat next to us reiterated the same concern. The location and service is top notch.
Great place, great food. I have been to Matt's several times and always feel as though I am hanging with the locals when there, rather than being the tourist that I am. Friendly staff, very accommodating.
Fabulous food. Wonderful lunch. Great place to eat pike’s place market.
Amazing view. Great food.
Favorite place for lunch. Never, ever disappoints. Great food, wine and service. Best to make reservation but have been known to get lucky without one.
I've been to Matt's many times in the past and have very fond memories of the place. The ambiance and staff are as good as I remember. The food, however, has taken a turn for the worse. Overcooked and overpriced. What used to be one of Seattle's gems seems to have become a restaurant on the tourist scene: they come for the reputation and they won't be back, so the food doesn't have to be that great. For a dinner where the main dishes are roughly $40–50 per person, I can think of about twenty other restaurants in Seattle that would have been well worth the expense and left me thinking about the amazing meal I had for days to come. This experience didn't come close.
Excellent and delicious food as always! Great way for my mom to leave Seattle and head back home to PR.
Matt's is always a sure thing and good time! The Ban Mi is fantastic. :)
The view is fabulous and we had a lovely time. The candy bar dessert was so good!
Love the food! There is something for everyone with such unique dishes! We brought friends from out of down who wanted to walk Pike Place so the seat at the window was great for people watching, view of the water and the market. Love this place!
Food was very good, although there were very few options. The server was so completely rude and aloof though, totally ruined the experience. Also an $18 hamburger should be amazing.
Service staff, food, & view are all fantastic. Entirely worth a visit.
My wife and I came to Matt’s for a romantic dinner in celebration of our anniversary. We had the Scallops and the New York Strip, both we’re well presented and delicious. The best part though was desert and the Creme Brûlée so make sure you save room. Our server was extremely friendly and puts customers at ease with his knowledge of the food and it’s origins. Couple all of that with excellent views of the sound and the market and you can’t go wrong dining at Matt’s.
Loved the experience. We had a reservation and were seated with 5 minutes of that time. Lunch was fabulous. The catfish sandwich lived up to the hype. Crunchy on the outside, flaky inside and the sambal Mayo added so much flavor without detracting from the fish. So fresh. My husband ordered the fishwich and thoroughly enjoyed it. He too enjoyed the sauce with it. We had the yellow lentil sausage soup. A bit thin for me, but flavorful and delicious. Dessert? Yes please. All of it. Service was friendly and effective. The ambiance? Open windows with a view of the Market, industrial feel inside, open kitchen- wish we had something like it near our home.
Delicious local seafood and fresh vegetables. The only quibble is that the wines by the glass were all quite expensive.
Amazing ambiance, as you can stare into the Pike St. Market from your table. The food was delicious.
Matt’s is an iconic joint for a reason. Exceptional food, unbeatable location, friendly and engaging service. I find Matt’s especially fantastic for business lunches. Perfect mix of quality and personal touch with PNW ease.
So delicious and wonderful service, but prices were a bit painful.
Excellent food and service and atmosphere
Hidden gem that is very welcoming with its rustic charm, staff is superb, they all go the extra mile to make you feel at home. Food was fantastic, fresh and full of flavour, pride in presentation of all dishes. Will return next time we visit for sure!
Amazing! The scallop dish is a must eat. So yummy!
