We were big fans of the "Chef in the Hat's" precious restaurant, Rover. So, I had wanted to try Loulay for sometime. Most of the food was very good, our dessert was ok. We had great wine and port. The service was also great. Lovely place for a fun date or to meet friends. Also petty reasonably priced for higher end food.
Wonderful lunch--the mushroom medley salad was superb, and the beignets for dessert were splendid. Will be back!
A fantastic dinner. Wonderful risotto, scallops, salads and probably the best chocolate dessert I ever tasted. I will go back!
What a lovely dinner. Food and service were both excellent. I said to my wife 'I'm so glad we came here, it reminded me what good food should taste like'. Busy place so recommend a reservation.
Compliments to the chef and our waitress for such great service. The food was divine as usual. We'll be returning for another amazing meal soon.
The service was amazing. Very attentive. And the food- where to begin? We had the crab beignets, roasted chicken, and the crab risotto. Utterly Devine. Our cocktails were delicious as well. My favorite was the Revolver. Give this place a try. A truly unique dining experience.
It's expensive but delicious, innovative french food. The service and presentation is excellent. But cheap, it is NOT.
Normally our response to how good the food was would be a five star. This time it was a four star because the beet risotto was barely warm. The French onion soup was also barely warm. Both were tasty and tasted good otherwise. The Radicchio and watercress salad was fun and tasted great! The short ribs were excellent as usual. And the venison special was great! My husband had the seared foie gras with a glass of Sauternes for dessert as he loves it. I had the delightful rhubarb glazed panna cotta (can't remember the name) and would have had a second if I didn't need to mind my calories!
Polite and pleasant service. An old school vibe. Solid food. The French onion soup was delish, the tuna tartine was difficult to cut into even with a steak knife. Not great to order for a professional lunch unless you only plan on eating protein anyway. My friend had the shrimp kale salad and she enjoyed it.
Excellent service! Victoria made my best friend's bday a memorable one.... We even met the world famous Chef in the Hat.... He was very nice and even gave my friend a bday dessert to remember!
Loulay NEVER disappoints. Excellent food, flawless service and great ambiance!
The only drawback was the water condensing from the A/C and droplets falling on my wife and on table. Manger apologized but I feel we should have been offered a discount on meals.
Amazing brunch, inspired to take more advantage of this more often as a local after this great experience! The scrambled eggs and caviar alone is worth returning for, much less everything else that was amazing.
We had lunch at Loulay recently and to be honest I was underwhelmed. We've dined here many times in the past and it has been one of our favorite restaurants in the city. This time, I have to say I was disappointed.
Value. A 1 1/2 ounce portion of halibut for $26 is madness. It was tasty, but since their was only one and a half tastes, it was disappointing. A 2 ounce hangar steak with fries that was cold was anything but satisfying. Sure they prepared a second one and delivered it promptly, but c'mon. 2 ounce hangar steak for $25? Please.
Service. It was quiet the day we were there for lunch yet it seemed the pauses between times our server came upstairs to check on us were too long (in my opinion).
The experience left me feeling as if teeny tiny portions on huge plates were something we should be grateful to receive.
There are many excellent dining choices downtown. I'm disappointed that Loulay has opted off that list.
We sat upstairs overlooking the main dining room which was nice and quiet. Our server was fantastic and the food delicious and unusual. The meal was timed perfectly so we could make our show.
Great place for pre show dinner or special night out.
Delicious French inspired food. Remarkable wine list. Ryan was an exceptional guide through our wine pairings.
The food was amazing and service was wonderful. Ashley was our server and she coursed our food out as we ordered several apps and second courses instead of ordering entrees. We had the oysters, crudo, charcuterie and cheese plate, crab beignets (amazing), beet risotto, the mussels (must dip bread in the broth - soooo good), beignets and panna cotta for dessert. Absolutely amazing dinner.
We ate there 3 nights in a row while in Seattle, it was that good. The entrees were all great, especially the French Onion Soup, Braised Short Rib and Fish Stew. Highly recommend it for a couple or larger group. Service was perfect.
Overall was a great experience. Great food & a top notch service. Definitely worth the money!
Always a pleasure dining here. Thank you for always keeping your high standards of service and quality of food.
Delicious food with option to people watch or you can enjoy a more romantic quiet dinner upstairs. Great service, good drink selection and lots of food choices that can easily be shared.
When we were first serviced, we told the waitress we were going to try several menu items and split them. Our first order was the gem salad. When it arrived, it was not split and we were told there would be an additional charge of $5 for every item split. We decided not to pay the additional charge and to share rather than split using the French method of a fork and spoon.
The gem salad was ok. It was advertised as a romaine salad with an herb ranch dressing, but it only had a smear of the dressing, so it was quite dry.
The mussels, beet/mushroom risotto, and seared fois grass were excellent, as well as the after dinner cappuccino and gelato.
Great food, excellent service
We went for a business lunch. It took a long time for the food to come out so had to rush through the main course
Great birthday lunch with friends. We liked that there is a prix fixed option Thant we all chose.
Heck yeah. If you like delicious food, do this. Love so much on the menu but the salmon right now is amazing, the seafood stew is ALWAYS killer, and it's an amazing value for lunch. Yum.
Best beet risotto ever!
You may be tempted to overlook this gem attached to the Sheraton Grand hotel, but that would be a mistake. Loulay provides a refined but relaxed environment, professional and friendly service, and delicious cocktails and cuisine. It's the perfect place for a business dinner or special occasion.
Our dinner was lovely, but what made the Thursday night, last minute dinner out special was the service, all around. So enjoyed it!
Great restaurant, food and service. Wait staff courteous, asked about our schedule and gave us passes to the Paramount lounge when she found out we were going. My wife enjoyed her true French Onion soup and the halibut was great.
We came for an early pre-theatre dinner. Our server was top notch. He checked on our schedule at the start and paced our meal accordingly. Our favorites of the evening: Penn Cove mussels—scrumptious steaming broth + extra side of bread; Duck Sliders, and the Hot Cocoa with toasted brioche.
Come here at least once a month for lunch. It never fails to impress despite the fact the menu hardly ever changes. Everything, food wine service are always very professional. Nice open space fun to watch people from the balcony.
We had dinner before going to a musical at the nearby theatre, and were delighted by the fantastic food, attentive service and warm hospitality. Memorable!
I am sorry but I will not go back. Corportate feel!!!
Good was fantastic and service was prompt and attentive. We went for brunch before a show and they made sure we were fed and our on time. We will definitely go back!
Very nice restaurant associated with the Sheraton Grand. We selected a few small plates to share. The Gem salad had a great dressing that added to the dish. Crab beignets were full of crab and really good. The spiced smoked cod was also delicious, but there might have been a few too many potatoes relative to the cod. The gnocchi with grapes, poached egg, and hazelnut were a great combination of flavors. The only minor disappointment was the rum raisin rice pudding we shared for dessert. While the flavors were good, it was more of a custard with a bit of rice mixed in rather than a chewy rice pudding that we were expecting. While not inexpensive, prices seemed consistent with Downtown Seattle and the quality of the food. We would recommend and return.
Excellent. A Seattle favorite
The food was delicious and our server, Hilda C., was very warm and attentive. She was very kind to my friend and I. Would love to come back for the food and ambiance.
Delicious food with kind, efficient and knowledgeable service!
We were part of a workshop at the Sheraton and made reservations for lunch. As the hordes of our workshop descended, the hostess deftly handled the line and got those of us with reservations, seated. The service was attentive, personable, matching the food. Loved the croque madame! And my partner`s burger, with an egg, was great. Later that day we were back for hot chocolate and beignets. Each taste was wonderful: brioche with a delicious butter for chocolate dipping, beignets with creme anglaise. Delicious after a long day in a workshop
