   The ambiance was nice. My husband said his seafood rigatoni was good. However, my salmon lacked flavor. The restaurant was almost empty yet our waitress was inattentive and we wound up grabbing a pitcher of water off the water table to refill our glasses. Unfortunately,we won’t be returning.

   It took 30 minutes to get our water. Our second course arrived at 40 minutes, before our first course. We had to ask for the first course. It took 50 minutes to get our first drink and then only one of us got our drink order. We had to remind the waitress about the other drink. The third course (soup and salad) arrived 30 minutes later and 2 minutes before our entrees. My wife's soup, which was suppose to be tomato soup was a bowl of vodka cream sauce with sausage. When addressed with the Manager, who apologized profusely, he rushed back with new bowl which turned out to be vodka sauce with sausage again. The filet was ordered without demi glace was served with demi glace. The dessert was ordered as Almond cake and Apple crisp was served as Olive cake and Apple crisp. Rough night

   Went for Valentine’s Day and each course was amazingly. The staff also helped me set up a surprise for my girlfriend. Will definitely be back.

   We really enjoyed Lak. The service was superb. Every dish was delicious. We had the 5 course prix fixe menu for Valentines day. We look forward to returning to explore the usual menu!

   Super disappointing experience. Food was overpriced and just not good. We barely ate any of our 5 courses. My husbands steak that he ordered medium rare came out still mooing. Dessert was the best part. Will not be returning.

   Our waiter was fine. The quality of the food was not great. It arrived to the table cold and we had to send it back. With regards to presentation it looked and tasted like a meal I could have prepared at home. Nothing special.

    The food was exceptional. The chef personally greeted us and served a very appealing meal. The manager stopped at our table to make sure we were happy with our food and service. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and will come again. A plus was the setting overlooking the lake!

    We went last night for the last night of restaurant week and it was just okay. The steak wasn't good at all because they seasoned the sauce but not the actual steak. However, the lamb and the ambiance was amazing!!!

    Overall, we enjoyed the experience. The Korean short ribs appetizer was unique and tasty. The lamb chops I had were just right portion, and husband liked his rib eye (took some home). The carrot cake was huge and very good-only managed a few bites and took it home. It was higher than average price during restaurant week. Sam was a great waiter, and all staff were friendly and did a good job. The ambiance could be more “fine dining” vs casual eatery given the prices and upscale food.

    Unfortunately, I was disappointed by my overall experience. We had reservations at 545, so we wouldn't run into the business of the main dinner crown. I was excited to celebrate my birthday here with my girlfriend group...Samuel, our waiter had great energy and was attentive, but as the restaurant filled...we started feeling a little neglected and at the end of the nights we left feeling underwhelmed. We visited this past weekend during restaurant week, the menu options were wonderful...the appetizers ignited our pallet excitedly looking forward to the main course. 1/2 of us ordered the steak and mushroom risotto - the steak was cooked as requested, but was bland as was the risotto...no seasoning and the consistency was too thick. The others ordered the pan-seared chicken with gouda and honestly, it looked like the chicken was topped with a canned cream of chicken sauce, the presentation was not flattering. Now on to the dessert, I honestly looved my carrot cake!! The warm apple crisp left more to be desired, a bowl of cooked apples in a sauce that tasted as though the flour added to thicken it needed to cook longer...and it was topped with a small scoop of their brown sugar ice cream a few bits of granola...and not crust or anything else to add more balance to the overall dessert. My final thoughts, restaurant week is supposed to highlight what the restaurant has to offer and leave the customer wanting to return, not so with this group...please season and taste your main courses, although it was pricier than other restaurant weeks Ive experienced, it would've been worth it had the meal been adequately prepared.

    We heading there for restaurant week. You could only order from that menu. No big deal for us though. But you would think that our food would be on time, and perfect if they were only serving three things. Well our app came out and then we waited an hour for our food to come. This place is not large at all. The waiter came up to us and he was dressed in a polo and khakis. You could immediately tell he was not the normal waiter and was filling in. Apparently staff members called out and they were short staffed everywhere. When the food did finally come, (after I had to ask where it was and everyone around us that got there after us was finishing desert), it was not good. They didn't ask me how I wanted my pork chop cooked and it was WAY overdone. My bf got a steak and it was cold. I would hope the sides made up for our entrees but they were worse. The Brussel sprouts were mushy. It was gross. Got desert to go at that point since we had been there for two hours and barely ate. We also were sat in a two top right next to the entrance. It was awkward, cold and the ambience needs help.

    First our server was full of personality and suggestions, which we followed. Samuel is an expert at his craft. Our appetizers were very good. Particularly the Korean short rib sliders. Diner was mixed. The steak, though very large was too mildly seasoned for my taste and a little past medium rare. There were too little mushrooms and the mushroom risotto was way too thick and heavy. I asked for charred but it was not. The pork chop was incredible. The sauce excellent. The fried chicken was extremely delicious. The chai panna cotta was excellent as well. We were too full to do all three desserts so the carrot cake was taken home. Recommend the panna cotta more. We were here for restaurant week and the price point for what we ordered was fantastic.

    It's a pet peeve but the entrees came out before we were done the appetizers. $75 Rib eye is a bit over priced. Baked potato had no seasoning. Had to ask for butter and a steak knife. First round of drinks was slow given it was not busy. They did provide a free desert for a birthday. Waiter was attentive and nice.

    The continental breakfast is light and refreshing. The customer service is kind, attentive, and conversational, but not overly attentive. As Lak develops, we would like to suggest that they add berries and eggs to the continental breakfast.

    We were there for dinner on New Year’s Eve. This was our first time there. There were five of us and everyone loved the food. We got two appetizers to share, the crab crostini and calamari, but both were delicious. The bread was delicious we asked for a second order. We got the seafood rigatoni, chicken Milanese and two got the special for the evening which was crab and salmon. Everyone was pleased with their selections. We got the mac and cheese to share which was absolutely great. We got the apple crisp and the sundae to share for dessert. We liked both but a couple people preferred the apple crisp. Our server was very attentive. We will be back. Probably in the spring because they have outdoor seating. It was busy that evening so probably louder than usual but it didn’t bother us. We still could hold a conversation at our table with no problem. If you are thinking about going here, you will not be disappointed.

    We dined at Lak on a weeknight in late December 2022. Upon arriving, the hostess seated us at a small two-top in the middle of the dining room though other couples were seated at four-tops or in booths that could accommodate a party of six. We would have been more comfortable at one of those larger tables, but we didn't request it as we just assumed that those tables were reserved, but we were wrong. It never became busy. Our waiter, Brett, was nice, but his timing was off throughout the meal (asking if we wanted dessert or the bill while we're still eating our dinner, for example). The menu is not at all modern, in that there are few healthy no/low carb options, and some items (wedge salads, Brussels sprouts, etc.) are just old news. We started with the fried calamari (salty and tough) and the crab crostini (ice cold, undressed crabmeat on a warm, seasoned crostini). Neither was successful nor pleasing to the palate. Our entrees were not much better. I had the fish du jour, a bland, overcooked sesame-coated piece of salmon atop thick asparagus spears, which, in turn, sat on a layer of mushrooms in what I assume was a teriyaki sauce (if the fish had actually been marinated in the sauce, it might have helped). My spouse had the seafood rigatoni, which had plenty of overcooked seafood (scallops, shrimp, lobster tail) which sat in a sparse, salty alfredo sauce. We skipped dessert. Drinks are poured somewhere other than the dining area, so we waited quite a while for a few glasses of wine (they didn't have the Chenin Blanc, so by the time both wines were served, 15 minutes had gone by). Given such a disappointing first visit on a non-busy night, I'm not sure we will go back anytime soon. There are many "kinks" to be worked out at Lak, and both front-of-house staff (uneven service, menu pages falling out of their folders, etc.) and kitchen staff (overcooked/oversalted food) really need to pay attention to the details if this restaurant is to succeed.

    We ordered appetizers that never came. Instead they brought the entrees out. When we told them this they said they would take them back and get the entrees and bring us fresh entrees after they brought out the appetizers. We finally got the appetizer (soup and melted brie) and both were cold. Then came the entrees that were the same ones and had been reheated several times and were mostly inedible. They did take those off the bill after we complained. The drinks were good.
