Il Cielo Gardens Restaurant & Bar
I mentioned it was our anniversary on the reservation and the table next to us had rose petals on theirs and we didn’t ... it was a little awkward.
The fish I ordered was under seasoned and had bones in it.
The tuna tartare didn’t have a fresh taste to it.
The bread brought out was hard crispy which made it seem old.
I’m happy we went but I’m not going back especially at that price point.
Her lobster was good though.
There was a leak from where we were seating!
At the beginning the server was checking on us often as the time past by least amount of attention was given to us!
We had keep asking where’s our server from out awesome busboy!
Overall it was OK!
Was expecting a lot more when I told them in advance we were there to celebrate a birthday!
They didn’t make it special it was too plane!!
Very Poor Service. Unacceptable Food. Would NEVER return.
Outstanding food, gracious service, in a beautiful indoor/outdoor setting. Great place for a special occasion.
After decades of celebrating our family’s most precious milestones at Il Cielo, the quality, personalized service, and ambiance so unique to its own,, has never wavered. There is a Hollywood history to this building which the owners have always held in reverence not exploitation - a rarity in today’s service industry. To date there has not been one restaurant which reaches beyond the hold Il Cielo has on all we hope for in a dining experience.
The whole experience was amazing from the food to the host even the General manager was amazing! He took the time to explain dishes to us and really made us feel welcomed. I would definitely comeback!
If you can - choose to sit outdoors - the patio is lovely - an oasis away from the LA hustle. The food was delicious . Authentic Italian cuisine done perfectly. The sea bass was a favorite as was the bolognese. I think you could choose any meal and be delighted.
Il Cíelo is a lovely restaurant for any occasion. The food is great and the service is on point . It’s a special quaint restaurant. Highly recommend!
It’s a romantic place, however, if you want excellent food, avoid here.
My dinner companion had the LA week menu and enjoyed it very much. I had pasta with seafood and Loved it. The ambiance is a 10. We sat in a corner of the large patio and there was no noise.
the food and service was excellent. thank you so much
The ambience cannot be beat! Loved the service!! Food was ok
The food and service were very good. It was a lovely afternoon.
Delicious craft cocktails and an excellent wine selection. Lamb shank with polenta was tender -
the polenta was creamy and flavorful. Two risottos
, one with mushroom , the other with lobster were unique and delicious. The only miss of the evening was the pasta with seafood which was supposed to be in white wine sauce with tomato concasse and instead had a completely marinara-type sauce which overpowered the fish. Tiramisu just average. Food good but too expensive for what it was. Great service, though.
It was very good!!!
Food had a good presentation but nedd lil bit more flavor i order lamb shank i think it was really tender but lil tasteless polenta was great. Calamary too soggy
the food was not very good. For that price there are many other good choices.
Seamless service, good food, romantic ambience
Excited for our first Il Cielo experience. Overall elevated dining experience. Belated birthday and date night with wife. We ordered from DinaLA menu. Wife ordered: broccoli white fish (moist with crunchy skin, kale not bitter, topped with tomato salad); and tiramisu (light, air, and a star). My meal: calamari (elevated grilled with no breading, side of arugula salad with lemon dressing); lamp shank (falling off the bone); sorbet (mango, and two lemon scoops). Room for improvements: plating on tiramisu was smudged on one corner by either wait or kitchen staff; the edges of both calamari and lamp shank could have been wiped off; introduce a 3rd sorbet flavor instead of two of the same lemon (e.g., coconut, strawberry, or pistachio). These are the small attention to detail that makes the difference between 4 to 5 starts. Service was excellent from the time we were greeted at the door, to each staff member saying goodbye, and everything in-between where the wait staff was friendly, professional, and personable, asking us if we want more bread and water, and "how are we?" each and every time they came around which was often. Room for improvement: made it clear we were celebrating a birthday, however we were not greeted and treated accordingly, while we watch others get that acknowledgement. Ambiance: we sat in the "back" outdoor covered patio with retractable roof, it was perfect with its dimly lit area and low noise level for intimate setting to have good food, drinks, and conversation. Two other areas is indoor area, and front covered patio that is well lit. You have a choice that best suits your occasion. Room for improvement: enforce dress code, patrons sitting two tables in fr of us were allowed with shorts and flip flops. Need to uphold standards for "everyone". Outside over street parking and valet for convenience, the front is small and unassuming that opens into a beautiful elegant space.
Great. Enjoyed it. Took my mother. She loved everything about it
We love the ambiance and the service is always excellent. The menu offers a wide variety of Italian dishes with a fresh Mediterranean touch in a beautiful setting. Great for a special night out.
Great specialty drinks as well as wonderful food. The staff was very accommodating, also.
This is my new favorite place!!
I loved the ambience and presentation of food. Staff is very friendly. Noice from the vehicle outside was little bothersome. They should play some nice music suitable to ambience. Over all great experience.
Best first date place in LA. Beautiful garden, great traditional Italian food, good wine list and plentiful waitstaff
Excellent food and service...wonderful experience. excellent management and servers. Ambience is beautiful. Very romantic and warm
Always a great place for romantic occasions, ambience & good food. Love the Brenzano
Always love this restaurant. We can count on great food and service.
Perfect, beautiful, top kinkdness and tasty plates!!
We enjoyed celebrating our anniversary dinner.
My food was great. Nice ambiance. My wife said her chicken was too rubery
Amazing food and excellent service.
Our family truly enjoyed our lunch at this quaint dining spot. We ate in the garden. Massimo was charming and attentive. The food was plentiful and delicious. The presentation was beautiful. Definitely on my list as a favorite!
Loved this place!! Nice ambiance, delicious food, great service. Feels like you are in Tuscany!
Wonderful experience. Food was delicious. Service was very good. Only thing...the heat. The hottest day in L.A. Had to eat inside not on the patio.
I would recommend with caution. My steak was burned. The ahi tartare was tasteless with guacamole mix instead of actual avocados.
Unattentive waiter whose knowledge of the menu seem uninterested. Food was just ok.
Wildly overpriced, filled with selfie-taking tourists and playing literally the worst music I have ever heard.
I couldn’t recommend this restaurant highly enough. From the INCREDIBLE SERVICE to the DELICIOUS food to the COZY CHARMING ATMOSPHERE, IT was a fantastic experience. It was very romantic and just a fantastic night. I can’t wait to visit again and go back!
We ate here for a celebration. The room was very pretty and perfect for a special event. The food was very good, the service was excellent and the restaurant was very accommodating with dietary restrictions. I highly recommend it, especially for a large group of people.
