Redbird - Los Angeles
Beautiful place food could be a little healthier
Great restaurant! Loved the ambiance and decor. Food was delicious and the wine list was great! We will definitely be back for sure!
The service and wait staff were great. The food was good but not special - the Hamachi Crudo was very good as was the Burrata but neither one was unique. Same goes for the scallops. In general, I thought the food was very heavy handed, over sauced and seasoned and lacked finesse. That said, I thought the duck was excellent with a unique and complex flavor. In general, this restaurant is overpriced for the portions and flavors you get.
sommelier was AWESOME
Excellent service, they definitely have the best staff in LA. The food itself was beyond my expectations. I'll definitely go back there!
We dined at Redbird for a special date night. It was beautiful in the restaurant and the food dishes were delicious. I enjoyed a few cocktails as well. Service was attentive. It was a very noisy environment (to be expected with the openness) once peak hours hit (after 630ish) , so not the best for a deep conversation but that didn't take away from our enjoyment!
The food good and service was excellent. The restaurant is a little noisy. Excellent front of house service and greeting staff.
Drinks and happy hour were fantastic. I would opt to sit at the bar if it’s available. The bartenders are extremely amiable and professional. Food was delicious and the space is beautiful. Would definitely return
Celebrated friend’s promotion. Service was great. Ambiance very upscale. Food was well-seasoned and balanced. Beef tartare and lamb were excellent. Burratta and scallops very average. The Brazilian cheese rolls were jyummy.... literally yummy. Maple Leaf drink was excellent too..
I probably like this restaurant more than usual because we got engaged there last Thursday night. Great place--even if you don't get engaged.
Everything we ate was so delicious. For the 2 of us we ordered 1 appetizer, 1 salad, 2 main dishes, 1 side, and 1 desert. We were full. The bread they give you to start is delicious, one is sourdough and the other is a small cheese bread. YUM! We will def be back. Oh and there cocktails are very good. I had a Thai Ball I think that is what it was called and my husband had the Maple Leaf.
Lastly service was excellent. Water was always filled and plates cleaned up right away.
Great service. Interesting food. Lovely space but loud. Hideously expensive wine list.
food was too salty(soft crab sandwich & Basque baked eggs) and new style mimosa was not good as original. I liked the dinner menu better than brunch. I will recommend dinner NOT brunch
One of the best brunch spots in LA. Try the Duck Confit Chilaquiles.
Brunch can often be overly expensive and uninspired. Eggs and pastries and drinks - it’s all the same...but not at Redbird.
Today’s brunch was outstanding.
We got 3 bread items for the table that were all stellar - french toast, waffle, pancake - and then everyone got their own egg/main dish.
Everything was delicious and special - baked eggs, chickpea pancake with smoked salmon, duck confit chilaquiles, bakes eggs, scramble, soft shell crab sandwich, burrata. Honestly phenomenal.
So happy I also got a side of turkey/pork/merguez sausage because after everything else’s awesomeness these small sausages were the standout.
Also the drinks were great and the aesthetic of the space is lovely - a mix between funky and classy.
This is a top notch restaurant. The food and coctails were excellent.
Beautiful restaurant in a great setting. Food and service were terrific. It is somewhat expensive - we paid ~125 a person for dinner with drinks and tip but no bottles of wine.
I always enjoy the food and service at Redbird. Besides being a historic building, the food continues to be amazingly creative and delicious.
Redbird is a real favorite. Our waiter was particularly great this last time. While the BBQ tofu was a little less good than in previous visits, the tri-tip with pomme puree and morells was to die for. And I'm glad to see the dessert chef return. The Yuzu bavarois with Matcha ice cream was spectacular (similar to my favorite dessert of all time: yuzu custard with cucumber ice cream and fresh basil sauce).
The food and the ambiance was absolutely amazing. Will definitely return for the experience.
I honestly could not say enough wonderful things about my birthday dinner at Redbird. From the moment we walked in, the hostess, the bus/wait staff, our server, the bartender, etc., EVERYONE was friendly & overly pleasant — for a place like this, you'd sometimes expect snootiness but we felt so welcomed.
I could go on & on about how every detail was so special, thoughtful & DELICIOUS, but I'll leave you with just two words — cheese. rolls.
Lovely romantic atmosphere where it was easy for us to hear each other. The food was creative, delicious and beautifully presented. Since I'm a veggie lover I was over the moon with the snow peas and tendrils. We each had The Contessa cocktail and it was just the right balance of light tanginess with a little bitterness.
Great food, wondeful ambiance, attentive servers. I would recommend this place for celebrations.
Food was fresh and imaginative. Knowledgeable wine steward.
The menu has changed since I last ate there and selections are very limited. The waiter did not know much about the food or drink menu, things delivered to our table we did not order, and we were quite disappointed.
Fabulous food. Excellent service. Wonderful wine pairings.
Beef tartar and hamachi, excellent, far better than octopus. Shtimp appetizer very good. Pasta with rabbit and also the gnocchi as 1st course were excellent. Tri tip was delicious and tender. Pork belly was rustic like grandma's ham hock stew, flavorful, big slabs o' belly, filling. Saved just enough room for scrumptious churros and chocolate...speaking of grandma...
Food was delicious. Service was impeccable. Ambiance is perfectly warm. Highly recommend.
I absolutely love Redbird, I am never disappointed and always leave feeling like I had a wonderful experience. The cocktails are what originally brought me to Redbird, and the food is equally as delicious.
The ambience was nice, the drinks were great but the food and pricing left a lot to be desired.
Best restaurant in LA. Michelin missed the mark by not rating them
Too expensive and I was overcharged. I just didn't want to create a scene.
Beautiful main dining room. Bar area less so....access to the gardens would be a huge plus.
The food is very high level, as is the service. The gnocchi were particularly noteworthy. No artificiality or pretension.
Excellent service and food. We were outside and it was so loud we had trouble hearing the waiter and carrying on conversation. Tuesday night reservation at 7. Once some big parties left, the noise subsided. Would definitely go back.
Beautiful atmosphere. Excellent food and drink. Chef Fraser is a master at his art.
Excellent food, top-drawer service. Always a little too noisy, but not as bad as some.
Food was great but service was way subpar for the type of establishment they strive to be. It felt like they hired every available USC student on summer break when we dined there.
For what the price of the dishes are and what the ambiance is, I expect a far more professional establishment with professionals working at every station.
We had a lovely dinner at Redbird with another couple during Restaurant Week. We all ordered from the $49 3-course Restaurant Week menu (and a $39 bottle of red wine suggested by the sommelier)! My shrimp appetizer was fantastic, but my salmon entree was just okay, not up to Redbird's usual high standards. Our dinner mates raved about their sorbet desserts. Service was very friendly and unobtrusive. We were able to sit in the gorgeous main dining room though I noticed a number of people were not so lucky. Highly recommended.
Restaurant light and bright. Tour of Viviana interesting, glad bus boy suggested. My tofu dinner tasty and enjoyable; others had tritip special and found it chewy and rare. They were disappointed! We felt waiter should have warned us it would be served as such.
Restaurant wasn't too busy and it took 10 minutes for the water boy to give us water and another 5 minutes for the server to engage us. When asking questions about the food items, the server wasn't too keen at describing them nor had any desire to offer recommendations. I paid a whopping $32 for a double shot Bloody Mary...the rest of the food from DineLA menu was nothing impressive for me to make another trip here again.
When the check came, we gave the server very simple instructions on how to separate the checks and apparently it was too complicated for him to do so.
Overall, we were very disappointed for our experience at a restaurant of this caliber... For that, I won't ever recommend this to anybody.
