Perfect anniversary experience
All the dishes we ordered were excellent including the desserts.
The only problem was that it was very warm inside and the music was super loud. The acoustics is not very good and it was very hard to have a conversation there.
It was so hot in the restaurant.
The food was delicious! The waiter was accommodating and attentive. Our reservation was early 5:30pm and reservations are highly recommend due to small intimate setting. Around 6:30 the place filled up with a small amount of guest waiting which made it very warm inside. We asked if they could adjust the thermostat. Other than that the evenings was perfect!
Almost always good. Quite pricey. Fish tacos are best value and consistently great tasting. Yesterday's "boat catch" special was Alaskan salmon. Great tasting but really small portion. Grilled asparagus and sweet potatoes are excellent sides. Enjoy!
Good, but not the best seafood in town.
Huge fan of Town Hearth and was of Montlake...Server was overworked too many tables. Been there three times and loved it but this was a very mediocre experience. Clam chowder tasted quite off.
Received service like we were second class. Big spenders at the next table.
Food was delicious! Great service. A great place to celebrate our daughter’s 25th birthday.
Food superb. Great service. Love this place.
Outstanding as always. The best.
There’s just something so appealing about this place. I love the vibe, the decor, the coziness, the drinks, and of course the food. I’ve had the sea scallops on two occasions and they are perfect. I’m now obsessed with the browned butter and charred tomato sauce and hope to reverse engineer it at home. My husband ordered the Alaskan King salmon which was one of the fish of the day features. It was on the small end portion wise—especially at nearly $40. He loves the fish and chips and wished, after the fact, that he had ordered that instead at about half the price. But the rest of our recent meal was just lovely—from the rum Old Fashioned to the little rum cake dessert. Montlake. Cut is more of a special occasion restaurant for us, and we always look forward to our next visit.
Waiter aggressive. Food mixed. Expensive. Noisy. Patron slipped and fell. Still, ambience good. Maybe I hit it on an off night.
always great ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Nice atmosphere, good wine selection, West coast type seafood set up
Excellent service and food. Wonderful experience from beginning to end.
We have been here several times and love the food
This time service was off or else i would have given it 5stars
Best seafood in Dallas! This was our third time to Montlake and won't be our last. The fresh oysters are phenomenal.
Very good. Food and service are outstanding.
As always...great food and great service!
Great taste & service but specials are overpriced. Add sides to a special & wine - you have a $70 meal....
great drinks, George our waiter was awesome, really enjoyed it.
One and done. Got there a few minutes early and the bar was so packed there was nowhere to stand. It was awkward and uncomfortable. Hardly inviting.
We had an 8:15 reservation and weren’t seated until almost 9. Had to fight your way through to try and order a drink while then standing over people eating their meals at the bar. Awkward. When we were finally seated — at by far the worst table — we Weren’t offered drinks or an app to offset the wait or awkwardness. Nothing.
Service wasn’t impressive — we felt rushed the entire time. Like all they wanted to do was turn our table. Yet there weren’t any parties waiting. It was noisy - hard to hear each other talk.
We were there for my boyfriend’s birthday. While they did put a candle, We paid for the dessert. Overall disappointing location for a birthday dinner.
Food was good not great. Portion size on the smaller side. Simply not a good value.
Consider Gemma for your next celebration dinner. Excellent service and food. Plus a wonderful experience where it felt like they were celebrating with us.
Hidden gem that I didn’t even know was there. So grateful the bartender at our hotel recommended it!
The food was good and service excellent but for the price per person I felt it should have been more than an upscale fish house.
Branzino was tasty but not a value at $36. Cod looked much better. Noise level somewhat high. Ok overall. About the same as sister restaurant Neighborhood Services. Just ok. I GIVE THIS 3 STARS. DONT KNOW WHY THERE ARE MORE THAN THAT SHOWING
It was really hot inside. They need to add more air conditioning. Our waiter was dripping sweat on us.
Love the decor and the ambiance. It is noisy but not overwhelmingly loud -- still easy to hear the other guests at your table. The oysters and the fish specials were absolutely amazing! And the rum cake dessert is mind blowingly decadent! We didn't love the mussels but three out of four wins on the dishes is a win for us. Thanks!
Our experience was wonderful! Great bar and table service. Excellent dishes with great seafood quality. Love this cozy gem and will gladly return!
Not as good as in the past. Very loud so much that it was hard to hear the waiter. Salmon special was to be medium per the chef's recommendation but it was dry. I'm from Pacific Northwest so had a different expectation of what medium should be. Wine list isn't as good as it was last year. Still a decent meal but not the greatest that it has been in the past.
Great food and service in delightfully decorated restaurant. But that decor does not absorb sound and the restaurant was a bit noisy. But the food makes it all well worth it.
Pricey, but excellent food and service.
Recommend the mussels, rum cake and noodle dish of the day (was King crab linguine).
Our second visit to Montlake Cut and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. My wife selected a pasta special with king crab and thought it was excellent. I chose the scallops and they were also very good. We finished with a rum cake and a key lime parfait, both delicious. We will definitely return soon to try more of the items on their very nice selection.
This is my new favorite place in Dallas. In fact I don’t even feel like I’m in Dallas when I’m there. I think I’m in A quaint, cool delicious restaurant with a Pacific Northwest vibe! Eat at the bar. Great bartenders and by all means, don’t miss the key lime pie!!!
Dinners were delicious. Excellent evening with friends. No pressure to leave.😀
Sorry friends. Was expectant about this place, but 3 of 4 in our party found their meal lacking. Wedge salad, BBQ snapper & Roast cod all needed salt (which wasn't on the table). Scallops were tasty but not much else on plate. Roasted brussels were oily and somewhat tasteless. Snapper had both a mayo based sauce (remoulade) & was served with cole slaw slathered in mayo dressing - overkill. Too loud in dining room to have much of a conversation at the table. My go to question when visiting a new place is this - would we go here again? Probably not folks. Probably not.
The background music was way too loud. I asked for it to be turned down just a hair...not sure if that happened, but maybe. You do not need LOUD music...My Hailbut was overcooked and very dry, no taste. The oysters were good.
