Merchant House Dallas
Only one server. Multiple screw ups. The food was excellent but service was horrible.
This was our second time eating here and it has always been good. Our server was very pleasant but would disappear at times when we wanted to order something. He was very polite none the less. The Shaking beef salad is wonderful. The beef is very tender and the salad is lightly dressed. The beef empanadas are more dough than beef and were not our favorite but they were still good. The endive, pear, arugula salad was way to over dressed but the humbolt fog cheese and almonds are a good touch in the salad. The bao mi are delicious! A must have at Merchant House. Overall a good experience
Nashville hot chicken was decent, and mac and cheese was a solid B+. Strange floorplan and bizarre decor didn't make sense to me. Food was nothing to draw my interest to come back again.
Attentive, cool interior with an eclectic menu. Good drinks, good service, good food. Great shareable appetizers served on a lazy Susan. Great fun! Cheers!
This place is awesome and I would definitely recommend for a big party! I love the atmosphere and love the food options!
We loved the feel of the restaurant. We ordered a handful of items off then”shareable” side of the menu and all were good but nothing outstanding. Everything seemed to just barley miss the mark between amazing and just ok. The upstairs patio area is very cool with good views of Dallas. We would come back for drinks up on the patio!
We had a great time. Our server was amazing. The whole staff was great. Food was delicious.
Cute restaurant. Great service, good food, great menu.
Had lunch here. Great and interesting menu. Love the look of the venue. Had the fish and chips because it was the Friday lunch special. Wouldn’t pay $22 if it wasn’t on special.
The location and decor were both very nice. Our server was also very pleasant, but it was clear she was not familiar with the menu. The steak was good but it was about $10 higher than comparable steaks at other nice locations such as Toulouse and Hudson House. Additionally, the bar tender upstairs was not very attentive. This could have been the result of this being a relatively new restaurant, but given that there are so many restaurants in Dallas, I’m not sure we’ll return.
Crab and Avocado Benedict, the crab is salty.
Our server was amazing and the brunch specials were great!!
We left feeling like we had a very mediocre experience. Our server did not seem knowledgeable about the menu and everything we ordered was simply “ok”. We will probably not be coming back.
Server and Bartenders were great! Old Fashioned was one of best I have had! Well done. We will be back!
Picked an item off menu that is no longer offered, but still on menu. Picked a different dinner and it was blah, as in tasteless.
Best part of this evening was our waitress, Mai.
Asked my opinion of restaurant and told her we would not be back.
The menu is very confusing.
Always willing to try new restaurant and did , won’t return.
The upstairs bar and patio area looks especially fun for a get together!
We went for Mother’s Day. We ordered off the menu and got a variety of items. I ordered the Tater Tot waffle. It was divine. I, also, asked for a green salad to round the meal out. It was of the menu, and the seever’s Mom (in the kitchen) whipped it up. It was wonderful. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their food, and our server was amazing. We will be back!
Love this spot. Been there for both brunch and dinner and loved both. The food is great as is the service!
We were seated in a smaller room and didn’t feel like it was as intimate as we would have liked, being so close to other couples, but the atmosphere and food made up for it. We will probably try going upstairs next time and hopefully have a different experience.
Merchant House is a great spot for dinner or a quick drink and appetizer before an event. The drinks are fantastic and the food is incredible!!! I haven't tried any main dishes/plates from the Selfish side of the menu yet, because the shared plates are SO GOOD! This time we tried the Nashville Hot Chicken Sliders (5/5), Baked Goat Cheese (5/5), Macaroni and Cheese (4.5/5), Grilled Cheese Dumplings (3/5) and the Blueberry Empanadas (5/5). I will continue to visit! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The rooftop is great to hang out as well. Excellent price point and great quality.
First time to try. Excellent lunch menu; went late with only two table tops. Asked that they turn down music and they did immediately. It was a bit helter skelter with who was waiting on us as we werent in the normal lunch timing. Absolutely return!
Great find! Food was great. Unusual concept and menu
My family and I went to merchant house for Easter weekend. We were thoroughly impressed by the unique family style menu with a wide variety of
Great neighborhood place! Spacious but still cozy, great drinks, great food, and great service. Will definitely go back!
Second time at the restaurant. Tried new items and enjoyed previous favorites. Jessica took care of us both visits. Many thanks. Looking forward to on next trip.
We really loved this restaurant. It’s in a cute house and food is great. I loved the Bloody Mary flight.
Beautiful build out. Interesting menu. Lackluster service. Average good quality. Music way to loud for Sunday brunch scene.
This restaurant had outstanding food , drink and service.
Our party of 5 had a few craft cocktails that were unique and awesome. There are a lot of options to choose from from the shelfless options, our table had the Mezze platter, duck wings, Deviled eggs and hot chicken sliders. They were all really tasty. Fish and chips and the mushroom salad were very good as well.
Finished off with the Churros and blueberry pie. Just Delicious . Our server My (so) was very knowledgeable and attentive. We will be back soon.
We ordered a bunch of the items on the selfless menu. They were all delicious.
Service and food was great!
Wow! A must! Great vibe, great service, great food, great value. Started off our evening, party of 6, upstairs outside on rooftop patio. Great craft drink menu and cool sitting areas. Back downstairs for dinner with our server names 'My'. She was absolutely incredible. Knew the menu front to back; the ingredients, the time to prepare, the order in which to bring, etc. We ordered the entire night down the left side or the 'share' side. Tried almost everything and it was all incredibly good. The lamb was to die for. Not far from downtown and Uptown; in fact, easy walk from uptown. Make it happen here. You will not be sorry.
I like the place. Serving are small. I order the hot chicken sandwich and got two sliders. 3 would be a regular meal
Good food, ok service, great ambiance.
Had brunch and arrived just a few minutes after opening, so there was only a few tables. Music was a little loud where we were sitting, but they were playing Run DMC and Beastie Boys so who am I to complain? The food and service was great, my wife and I spilt the French Toast bites, billionaire bacon, and burrito. All of it was amazing! Will be back with friends for brunch and dinner as well.
It was a great evening!!!
The biscuits with the Springfield Ham were cold and hard. The chutney the came with it was virtually hard boiled sugar. It burnt my finger it was so hot and then later cooled into hardened sugar. My hot chicken sliders were good. The Mac and cheese sliders were not special. I was unimpressed with the menu. The drinks were fine . I hope you get it figured out because the space is great.
Cool spot for dinner with friends! Food great, and the house is a neat feel with all its different rooms.
Nice restaurant, waiter exceptional, good food. Music to loud, had difficulty hearing our companions across the table
This is the perfect place to go with a group! Cute, cozy feel and very relaxed. Tons of small plates for sharing and can add extra to an order to accommodate all people in your party. The duck wings were out of this world and the pim pim boa buns were to die for...but everything was amazing. Complimentary valet parking, just tip! Service was fast and attentive. The best part is that every table has a lazy susan to make sharing easy as can be! Will definitely return to try the rest of the items on the share side.
Merchant House is such a delight and location is perfect for lunch meetings. We originally had a reservation for three and a fourth person attended unexpectedly. The restaurant was incredibly accommodating and seated us at a booth large enough for four. The service was quick, the food was excellent, and the ambiance was perfect. Love the decor and definitely love menu. One of my associates stated his sandwich was the best turkey BLT he's ever eaten. Thanks for help knock this lunch out of the park!
