What Insiders Are Saying
Marea is about as good as upscale eating gets in Midtown, and there’s a lot of that around. Don’t miss the bone marrow and octopus fusilli.
The service is fantastic!
My new favorite italian spot in NY now. They made us feel very special for our 8 year anniversary and also recommended very good everything. The ravioli was excellent!
Marea is consistently outstanding -- outstanding seafood and wine, with near-perfect service.
Atmosphere was great. Food was fantastic. Would highly recommend!
First time I enjoyed gnocchi since I been back from italy
Absolutely stellar. Fresh seasonal ingredients and service that is second to none.
Everything was perfect from start to finish Karol and Antonio were amazing! they really made my night special.
Great food! Love its grilled octopus!!
Eating here is a luxury experience. The menu is full of inspired, original creations. We had the four-course meal and each course was excellent - fresh, premium ingredients that were perfectly prepared. There were also surprise samplings of various items interspersed between the courses. Service was outstanding as well - not only was the waiter an attentive guide but there was a whole team of people assisting with such things as choice of drink, choice of bread, and laying out/cleaning up of plates.
Excellent seafood and excellent service. Expensive, but worth it.
Another wonderful evening at Marea. The food is amazing, the service is perfect and professional, and the ambiance is stunning. This is one of New York’s finest restaurants and a great place to celebrate a special occasion.
Exceptional service combined with creative and delicious seafood and pasta. Desserts are also standout. Good wine list with great glasses, although on the pricey side.
The left side of the dining room is quieter and has a more serene atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Delicious octopus and excellent service
Best meal ever. Great service.
Wonder dinner. Truly exceptional service. Tasting menu was worth every dollar. Highly recommend for a special night out.
Without any motivation. We are normal customer
Food was ok service and presentation excellent great service
I had a work meeting here, everyone was super nice and attentive. The food was great but a bit pricy for the portion and what it is.
Food terribly salty, almost inedible.- all dishes. We expected more for 5 persons at $1000.
This restaurant embodies class from the moment you walk. Great elegant bar, warm welcome. Tasteful decor accompanied by top notch service and high quality food makes a special occasion truely special.
One of the better lunch spots in the Columbus Circle area.
Awesome meal at Marea. The location and venue is outstanding and the food is top quality. It is somewhat expensive but overall a great meal and would highly recommend.
Very nice restaurant. Tasty.
Delicious. Simply amazing. Wonderful food with lovingly working people in what they do. Very good wine list. Quiet. Good for dinner for two.
My wife and I were looking forward to a 2-star experience at Marea. We had the 4-course tasting menu and were simply disappointed. Salad was ordinary, Pasta was served barely warm, Halibut was over-cooked and lacked flavor. The service team were professional, engaging and attentive. The atmosphere was pleasing but we came for a food experience. Unfortunately this experience fell well below what should be expected from a Michelin rated restaurant.
Excellent as always!
The lobster appetizer was perfect as were the scallops along they were few for the price. Drinks were well made and delicious
Made room for us at the bar to accommodate showing up early.
Bartender provided exceptional service.
We heard great thing about the place & made this high on our priority list during our holiday to NYC. Unfortunately, the good food was marred by less than ideal service, on a couple of instances.
Firstly, we were the 1st table to be seated for lunch. It took a good while for anyone to get us menus. Afterwhich it took a long while to get service to explain the menu. (Mind you there were barely 5 tables filled at the restaurant yet at this time)
Once we ordered, the waiter forgot to serve our glass of wine for an entire appetizer.
We were also having sparkling water, but the waiter mistakenly poured tap water into one of our glasses, without even realizing.
(This was a different waiter from the one who had forgotten our wine).
Overall, we felt quite neglected, and honestly, the food alone wouldn’t bring us back for a return visit to Marea when we’re in NYC, where good restaurants are aplenty.
Have dined here 7 times this year alone and won’t be the last. One of the best spots in all of NYC.
Between first and second course 45 min and was cold my pasta
My friends birthday
Everything was special
Chef’s tasting menu is amazing!! I think I just found my favorite restaurant! Definitely get the Ricci, crudo, and fusilli!!
Excellent service. Food was very good not outstanding
Unfortunately customers are a necessity not something that is welcome and clearly is popular because of its location
It certainly doesn't deserve the accolades
The food and service is always perfect. Worth every penny 😊
The panna cotta is my FAVORITE! A must try.
