Great food and great ambiance. Loved the overall experience
Good food in small plate format. One dish came out after 30 minute delay. Seemingly our server forgot to put in that order. To make up for inconvenience we received a delicious complimentary dessert.
The mushroom and yuzu noodle dish was exceptional. Unique and delicious.
All around good experience.
Great food and experience. Excellent service. Best new restaurant in the area.
Food was great! Loved the decor, service and music choice too!
Good food but pricey. There are better values nearby
Always a great meal, we trust Proxi for business dinners often. The food and drinks are great. But what really makes the meal is the service - from helpful menu suggestions to timing. They even made sure to adjust the sizing of the dishes to match our group.
Great place to meet with friends and enjoy a fun and tasty evening.
We had a great meal at proxi on recommendation from a friend. The stand out dishes were the zucchini and the pork that comes in lettuce wraps. We were seated at the counter by the kitchen which was great to see all the amazing dishes coming out.
Dessert selection was a little disappointing so we didn't end up sampling that.
All in all a good night out.
This is the second time we’ve been here and again it didn’t disappoint. First time was for dinner, and though dishes come from all over the world, the chef has done an amazing jobs making sure flavors meld so it doesn’t feel disjointed. And Proxi really needs to advertise their brunch more! If you are tired of the same old pancakes and eggs Benedict, come here. So fun to eat breakfast foods from around the world, and the congee and uttapam were particularly fantastic. Our server was great with great suggestions. We will be back!
Everything was so delicious. Loved the margaritas. Our server was just delightful and helpful in ordering five various dishes on the menu...each one better than the other.
Best food- great for healthy eating, gluten free and vegan and anyone who just loves awesome food!
This place is amazing. Truly flavors from around the world prepared and served with culinary expertise. Visiting Chicago from DC and also know the NYC food scene. This was our best dinner in years. What’s more is the service was excellent, friendly with perfect advice from the server which was helpful when one of us doesn’t eat meat. The decor is beautiful, stylish but not stuffy. To cap it off, great cocktails and nice wines. Definitely outstanding.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful and detailed review! We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed your experience with us, and we look forward to seeing you again soon. Best, The Team at Proxi
Sat at the counter overlooking the open kitchen for enjoyable activity. Interesting Asian fusion, including the mussels.
A very special meal! Smoked Pumpkin was stunning. Every dish was unique and exquisite. Our server Aki was wonderful! Can’t wait to go again!
Delicious! The Pumpkin spread was to die for.

Perfect dining experience
We have been here many time and it's always been outstanding. This Sunday brunch was different due to our waiter's attitude at the end of our meal caused by him not liking our idea of ordering a doughnut to go. He mentioned how the chef does not like the idea of to go orders. I really don't see what the big deal of taking a doughnut home or anything else for that matter, specially after having a meal there. The waiter should have kept the comment to himself.
Proxi is a home run for brunch. Inventive food choices- I love the chickpea curry with eggs and the corn fritters. All my guests thoroughly enjoyed their food AND the fun cocktails.
I will definitely return.
Steve, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! We're happy to hear you enjoyed your meal with us, and we look forward to seeing you again soon. Best, The Team at Proxi
Some great dishes. Miserable service with annoying and loud ambiance.
Great restaurant. We really enjoyed our experience and the food was phenomenal.
Beyond just "another" great meal out, Proxi will be truly memorable. The menu offerings such as pumpkin hummus, Vietnam Crepe, Lamb Skewers were beyond the norm. We will recommend and be back.
The menu was fantastic. It has a brought range of options for vegetables, fish, and meats with delicious flavor combinations. We really enjoyed all the dishes we tried. Favorites were the bass in Thai curry, muscles, and smoked pumpkin. The only disappointment in our experience was the waiter who seemed less than enthusiastic about serving us. When we asked for recommendation, he ran through his list perfunctorily. When we asked about a dish we had seen written up, he didn’t engage in the conversation and just confirmed the ingredients. He wasn’t exactly unfriendly but did seem to enjoy his job, at least on this night. We had a large group so perhaps he found it annoying? It colored the experience for me and several at our table. I would try Proxi again because the food was delicious but hope for another waiter next time.
Love the inventiveness of the flavors of all the dishes. You won't be able to find these unique tastes anywhere else. Every dish was phenomenal! Can't wait to go back.
Excellent food, service. Will definitely come back again
Most of the dishes we enjoyed at Proxi were well executed and terrific. Cocktails were very well prepared. We ordered three vegetable dishes, two fish/seafood and one meat. Smoked pumpkin, crispy Vietnamese crepe, stone bass in yellow curry and black pepper pork wraps were all enjoyable, especially the stone bass. Mung bean dumplings , and grilled mushrooms with yuba noodle salad were ok, but not noteworthy. Proxi serves dishes in varying portion size. That's great however, the portions are very small; even on dishes that are intended to be full entrée sized (mushrooms and stone bass).
Our server was knowledgeable and kind. He was balancing a large number of guests as a result it took more time than it should to get his attention when needed. The décor is very attractive.
Noise levels are very high - even on a Tuesday night. It was difficult to hear our server and to hear one another, even sitting in a booth beside one another. I encourage restaurant teams in Chicago to invest in sound dampening materials. Too many restaurants are too loud, making it hard enjoy the company of fellow diners. That's a shame, because a good meal is enhanced by good company. I don't want my guests to have to yell to be heard.
Overall, I enjoyed dining at Proxi and plan to return.
Incredible food!! Some of the best I’ve ever had.
Solid spot. Good Atmosphere, great bar.
Food was just OK by my standards but i'm from New York, maybe it's really good for Chicago. Overall I had a nice time with some great friends and it wasn't expensive
Delicious food taking inspiration from global flavors - very well executed and something for every preference and palette!
We enjoyed our meal concentrating on the small plates offered for the day. The tempura elote fritters were some of our favorite things - delicious flavor. We also had the mung bean dumplings, smoked pumpkin, potato carbonara, shaved zucchini, mushroom noodle yuba salad, baby octopus, and grilled swordfish, pepper pork, and thai sausage. It looks like a lot but there were 5 of us sharing and it is a good menu for vegans and non-meat eaters. The black raspberry Kulfi for desert was fabulous - cold, creamy raspberry taste.
Food and drinks were absolutely great.
Love proxi. Been half a dozen times always great
It was absolutely fabulous. Had the option to sit at the chefs counter, the service was wonderful and staff made great food and drink recommendations.
Singularly wondrous small plates...attention to detail without being pretentious. The Tempura Elotes and Seared Scallops are divine. Wonderful service....Highly recommend.
Food and service were amazing in a beautiful setting. Music is a little off from the ambiance but overall a great place to go!
All of the dishes were outstanding, wish we had room for more! Cocktails were creative and delicious as well, service was top notch.
Absolutely phenomenal, any way you cut it. Unusual menu, too. We’ll be back!
The food is very good, but a menu of shared plates doesn’t work well when they really aren’t big enough for a table of four to share. It becomes ridiculously expensive because you have to double up on most dishes to make a meal. Works for two, but it’s not a place where we would dine with another couple again.
Amazing restaurant with amazing service!!! Hard to please me and I was impressed!!!
