Akiko's Restaurant & Sushi Bar
This place is incredible and worth every penny! Linda made our experience a memorable one. She knew the menu and specialties very well!! Definitely will be thinking about this meal for a while and highly recommend everyone to stop there and enjoy.
Rolls were well below average.
For the price they charge, the food should be better
Exceptional variety of fish
Sushi at a whole now level. Sublime
Everything was great, worth a visit. They had sushi that were not on menus at other restaurants.
Sit at the sushi bar and give the omakase a go. It’s absolutely worth it - even for lunch!
Always a treat to visit this fine restaurant. The food and presentation are superb and the service is excellent.
Lovely experience. We had the omakase and it was absolutely worth the cost
Omakase is very special here
Food was excellent. Each dish presented nicely. Service was polite and very good. Always predictably very good place to lunch.
Food and service were both good. No acknowledgement of our anniversary was a bit of a disappointment, but still a functional meal.
Excellent Omakase and service!
I have gone to this restaurant over several years. It started out more traditional Japanese menu but now is focused more on Sushi and Sashimi. Delicious and fresh. It feels much more like special and memorable dining experience.
I’ve been coming here for decades, and it never disappoints. Some of the best sushi in San Francisco.
The food here is outstanding and I highly recommend going. Only a few issues, our service was not great for the price, I expect better service for what we paid. Second, the place is small. Come for the food and and sit at the sushi bar if you can. Get the raw wagyu.
Really ninice food, unfortunately we had to wait 30 mins for our table even though we arrived on time for our booking. A complimentary drink would have been appreciated.
Good food but service was honestly too much. Cleared the plates before we were done. The tables were so close to each other that we had a hard time having a conversation above the people next to us. Food was good but overpriced. Everything felt like such a big fuss. Why is it so difficult to get good Japanese food without all the pretentiousness in SF?
Linda was awesome and really knowledgeable about the food! Everything was delicious, highly recommend!
Nice ambiance. Food was good, except one plate we took. Weird smell in the whole place. Waiters were polite and respectful.
I'm lucky that Akiko's is close by my office, it is consistently exceptional
If you get stuck by the door you’ll be cold and if you ask them to close the door, they will tell you they can’t because back is warm.
Outstanding experience, service was great and food superb!
Absolutely I would recommend this restaurant. Fabulous food. So fresh. So innovative. And a lovely ambiance. Great sake. I wish I lived closer I would definitely do there again when I can. The house roll was excellent and one of the specials of the day was salmon with truffles. Excellent!
The best rolls and sashimi I've ever had -- and I've had very good sushi before! Akiko's takes you to an entirely different level and it's all exceptional. The staff is helpful, warm and always smiling. You feel welcomed the very moment you walk into Akiko's. And when it comes time to leave, you will only want to come right back. Request a table up front or at the bar for the best experience. And definitely make a reservation! The restaurant was packed on Monday night at 7 PM and many folks without reservations had to be turned away. If you are in San Francisco and you want to enjoy a superb sushi experience, Akiko's is the best place to go.
I have been coming to Akiko’s since 1998. I always order sashimi and it is the best I have ever had, in the US. This time I introduced my children to sushi. But they eat nigiri and I was unaware that the sushi chef put a dash of Wasabi under the fish. My kids were surprised by this and it made for a difficult evening trying to get them to trust me when ordering. I was unaware that this was the practice because the fish is the best.
They liked the sushi. I still love the place.
Could be one of the best meals I've ever had. Omakase is a splurge but worth it!
It was such a pleasant experience sitting at the bar, talking with our sushi chef and the plater, preparing the dishes coming out of the kitchen. The fish is so super fresh and top-quality - it simply melts in your mouth. I've eaten a lot of sushi and this is easily one of the best...
Amazing fish, very cool dishes, service extremely attentive, overall a great experience. The only thing I would say is that it is expensive, but then again they're getting the fish directly from Japan. Definitely worth a try.
Excellent food, great service, unusual selection of sashimi -- very fresh. My favorite sushi restaurant in San Francisco. Expensive -- but the value is definitely there!
We ordered Omakase or chef's choice and it was amazing. We asked for no sea urchin and that request was honored. Delicious sushi in beautiful arrangements. Very pleased with our 2nd time there.
Very discrete resto that has been shared from a foodie friend. If you are 2 dinning, definitely eat at the sushi bar, as the experice is more fun than at a regular table, you will get your sushi freshly done and ready to eat right in front of you. Also, experience a nice bottle of Sake to embrace the full experience. The staff is very knowledgeable, they will recommend the best related to your taste.
Amazing, interesting, and fresh fish. Absolutely wonderful service. A real gem.
They always make you feel so welcome
THE BEST SZuSHI in San Francisco for sure!
Still some of the freshest tastiest fish in SF.
Excellent service, a great dining experience.
We try to eat here as often as possible.
Some of the best sushi I’ve had. Omakase or bust.
Amazing! Our favorite sushi place in tkwn
For a restaurant trying to position itself as a high end sushi restaurant, this place fails with the most basic aspect. We sat at the counter and had omakase; unfortunately the food was inconsistent at best. Many warm dishes coming out lukewarm; the shari (the rice) of sushi temperature was inconsistent from cold to properly warm. At a restaurant like this at this price point, expecting consistency shouldn’t be an unreasonable request
Best in the city. Well worth the investment. Sit at the bar and get the best the chefs have.
We ordered chawan mushi and its v v small maybe only 3 cm of chawan mushi in a small bowl and its a ripped off 12 usd dollar .. we ordered without the seafood and still charge for full.price for chawanmushi
Great experience. Attentive and friendly service, great food and environment!
