It’s my 3rd time at the Cotogna. I like the food and the ambience, but this time it was very noisy and it took them 30min for the pasta. The service was also really bad, the person was not interested at all and I feel for a (lunch) pasta of 28$ the service should be outstanding. Sorry. Disappointed!

I had the Eggplant Burrata, Corn Triangoli, and Coffee Budino. All dishes were excellently made and delicious. The Corn Triangoli was one of the best tasting pasta dishes I've had. However, the portion was smaller than I had expected even for a high-end Italian restaurant. We did not leave feeling full even after 3 courses (although we did share the appetizer and dessert).

I think I found my goldilocks spot! Cotogna isn't too fancy or expensive with awesome food and overall experience. I loved what I ordered and the food felt authentic but still comfortably Californian. I would again and recommend to everyone.

The pastas here were innovative and delicious. But what really made Cotogna shine was the service, which was warm and efficient, but also incredibly helpful in our selection of dishes and wines.

Third time at cotogna, wanting to love it based on decent prices and good reviews. I can’t say we were disappointed, but certainly not impressed. One dish out of four was good. The other three very average. Very cramped. Service was fine. And prices are fine. But food did not impress. Have eaten at sister restaurant quince, TOTaLLY different experience , cannot actually compare the two, but I only mention because the chef or owner are obviously very competent/successful, but something is lacking in cotogna in my opinion. Trying g too hard in what is suppose to be simple food done well.

My favorite restaurant in the city can do no wrong. Food took some time to get to the table but there were apologies and a comp on our food to make things right. And as always the food and wine was superb!

The food and wine is incredible here! But it seems impossible to get a reservation before 9pm on any day.
I would also love to see more vegetarian options! Both foccacia dishes are our favorites!

the corn triangoli was to die for! we were so happy our server shared that it was one of his favorites on the current menu. the little gem salad was delicious, too. always happy with the food at cotogna.

the only thing i would change is the noise level. i could barely hear my friend when she was talking. i literally had to learn forward across the table to hear what she was saying.

We have consistently been very impressed with all the dishes we're tried at Cotogna. Don't miss the raviolo or the Agnolotti!

Filled with SF business people for lunch and the tables are too close to have an intimate conversation. The food was imaginative, delicious, and well executed. We will certainly be back!

Amazing!! Not pictured: Gem salad is to die for and so is the gelato cart. Can’t go wrong with this place! Shares the wine list with Quince so if you want some excellent juice, you can get it too!

Wow. Slightly put off when, coming into SF I could not find a Rez with Cotogna for our first visit...so took an early time...but stayed, unhurried by staff , for several hours. Best Italian food outside of NYC...because of the quality IMO and generous cocktails in big glasses a plus as well. A must if you are in SF.

My favorite restaurant on the planet!! The raviolo is to die for. Perfection! Seriously, everything is amazing. From the appetizers to the pizza, to the entrees, and desserts. I had the mint gelato. OMG! It was spectacular. I was dining alone and sat at the bar but still received attentive service the entire time. I highly recommend Cotogna! Make a reservation though! It's worth it!!

Cotogna seems to always deliver. The Agnolotti del Plin is simply an outstanding crowd-pleaser. The sardines cooked over the fire are excellent; simple but unique. I find the wines excellent and the servers knowledgeable about them.

Très bons restaurant italien. Le plat n’était pas très copieux mais excellent et comme cela il y avait une place pour le dessert (meilleur gelato que j’ai mangé jusqu’à présent).

Delicious, small portion meals (even the main pasta plates) in a vital atmosphere. Wish the portions were larger and less expensive, as everyone in our group received small portion of their main pasta meals. All was delicious but expensive for the small portions.

pasta with morels lacked a lot of salt.
the tuscan fried chicken lacked some sort of accompaniment, receiving half a chicken in a plate without any vegetables or side was a lot of protein.

Although I hate to admit it, I think I'm becoming more sensitive to noise levels in restaurants. However, if you're passionate about great food (especially pasta!) then this will not dissuade you from going there ASAP. Plus, the service is knowledgeable and welcoming.

I love this place and so does my wife. This is our 3rd time coming usually the host/hostess are nice but this young lady in particular had a horrible attitude. Not sure what her name was but she was short with medium length hair and I think she was European but. Management saved her because my wife was not happy with how she was treating us. Being a manager in a restaurant I understand you cant control everything but wow. Just unprofessional. But in all food was great we will be back just for a date night bite
