I'm a bit mad at myself for not trying this restaurant earlier. I saw it on Check Please and meant to try it but it's not in my neighborhood and I am less inclined to go further out and try to park.
But I'm so glad we finally went on my birthday last week.
Probably the best restaurant all around that I have been to in SF in years.
All of the food was spectacular, and our wait person was superb. We asked her to suggest the wines and she did pairings with each course, even offering half glasses which is so unexpected.
We had a burrata and tomato starter, a mixed salad that was perfectly dressed, and we shared two entrees, the truffle pasta and a salmon special. Every bite of each dish was a delight.
For dessert an affogato (ice cream with espresso poured over it). Wow!
Add up the incredible food together with the cozy, warm atmosphere, the perfect service and the quiet noise level we just found are new favorite.
The food was excellent and the service was great. My only issue is with the feeling I had of being rushed. We had a 6:30 reservation, made over a month in advance, and it was with important clients. We wanted to have a leisurely dinner with drinks and conversation, but I felt like they needed our table and that we were over staying our welcome. We ordered pre dinner drinks, starters, salads and main courses.
With its size and high profile, this is more likely my mistake and I should’ve been more thoughtful about my choice of restaurants.
I’ll go back, for sure, but not for a business/catch up dinner.
Second time at Seven Hills--did not disappoint. Those meatballs! That pasta! The cod! Delicious food, we were very happy. Cozy atmosphere, unstuffy. Fantastic!
Great little neighborhood find with fantastic food, ambiance, etc. Feels very SF.
Amazing truffle ricotta tortellini special. Pastas were perfectly cooked and our server was the perfect amount of attentive. Highly recommended.
Birthday celebration. Wait staff and concierge were gracious and welcoming.
Our food was FANTASTIC! Portions were just the right size.
I highly recommend Seven Hills.
Highly recommend Seven Hills. Homemade pasta was amazing, service outstanding, and such a pleasant experience with the host and our waitress.
Consistently my favorite restaurant in SF. Everything is outstanding. My husband ordered steak, loved it, then tried a bite of my pasta and ordered himself the same pasta as his second entree because it was that delicious. Service is just as spectacular as the food. Love Seven Hills!
Definitely the food is excellent. Fresh ingredients and we'll prepared. Otherwise ambiance and service were average.
Amazing food. Fantastic overall experience. I would recommend Seven Hills to anyone.
The food was spectacular. Really rich pastas and an excellent wine list. We especially enjoyed the truffle pasta special.
I would recommend this place with reservations. Some of us found our food was too salty otherwise it would be a four for the food. Our daughter loved her pasta but my husband's fish was overcooked. The staff were much friendlier to regulars than to us which should not happen as we are all paying the same prices.
This is just one of our favorite SF restaurants. You can taste every farm grown vegetable, chef specially selected ingredient in pasta dishes and mouth watering meat and fish entrees. The service is warm and helpful. The quaint setting makes for a perfect evening.
Reservations an absolute must, it’s always busy.
Anniversary dinner that did not disappoint. Did not inform 7 Hills of our occasion, so their high level was not skewed. The food was outstanding; every part was great. Our waiter conveyed the nature and quality of the menu without resorting to overuse of obnoxious foodie buzzwords. Just the right amount of attention. We will return and bring others.
We've been here previously and loved it, not sure what happened this evening. Reservations were for 5:30 and we were enroute. At 5:39 the restaurant phones to make sure we are still coming. We arrive at 5:41 and are immediately seated. At 5:56 we are asked if we would like anything to drink. Why rush us when you can't even take care of us?
More importantly, the food was ... bland. The Polpette were outstanding as always, but the squid ink pasta and the salmon were uninteresting, with the salmon being borderline overcooked. The charred corn on the cob was excellent, but the Romano beans were overcooked and tasteless.
As always the staff was lovely and they removed the romano beans from the bill with no issue.
We will be back, hopefully to a better experience next time.
The food was fantastic! Truffle pasta, squid ink pasta and the crispy skin salmon. My wife and I shared all 3 dishes and a very nice bottle of Pinot Noir. One of our favorite restaurants in SF.
As always a wonderful experience
Excellent food, service and ambiance!
Great!! Best truffle pasta I've ever had. A must visit!
Great food& wonderful service ! Seven hills made our anniversary celebration something to be remembered Tks
Amazingly charming little Italian spot tucked away into a corner of one of SF's nicest neighborhoods. Wonderful ambiance, service, and most importantly the food was superb. Highly recommend and I will be going back soon!
Great food and service, very “cozy” and a bit loud.
Would definitely return. Hats off to the chefs!!!
Amazing place! The owner is genuinely kind and the food is fantastic. Can’t say enough — will be back!
Outstanding menu using all locally sourced ingredients- fit for the season at hand. Wonderful combination of flavours. If you’re a pasta fan, get the squid ink past with shrimp and cherry tomatoes/sauce. To die for
Seven Hills: smart well done bistro. Owner meets you at the door to escort you to your table. Wait staff attentive, informed, friendly. First course special of the evening a steak tartare bruschetta style. Delicious! Next course a homemade pasta (all pasta made in-house) of squid ink and rock shrimp. Another winner! Our server suggested sharing which was wise as it saved room for main and dessert. One of us had meat special for the evening, leg of lamb and I had the fish special the boneless trout, both wonderful. I swooned over my trout and the special risotto. Dessert a share on a toy box melon that was sugar sweet and perfect ending. Wine list well thought out. Wines by the glass to accompany each course well chosen. We will definitely return as menu items are calling our name. That is unless we are swayed by the more specials of the night.
The food at Seven Hills was so fresh and just exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Our waitress was knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant is cozy so I would make a reservation in advance, they had to turn people away. You will not be disappointed!
The food was fantastic and the service was phenomenal.
Everyone was very nice and the food is super delicious and was definitely worth it the chef truly does care about what he serves would for sure come back.
Excellent food and service! Great wine selection as well.
Absolutely phenomenal pasta. Did not try any desserts. Service was impeccable.
Nick the manager was great. We sat at the bar and really enjoyed the experience. We will be back
Stellar, all around.
Service was wonderful and the pastas! You must try their seasonal pasta!!!
If you love Italian cuisine, this is a must place to go in San Francisco!
Wonderful food and service. Will be back.
The little gem salad was fresh and delicious and the pasta decadent. I loved the warm atmosphere where you could actually a conversation. I can’t wait to go back.
Second time here while visiting from Philly. Wife loved it and we’ll 100% be back next time we’re in town!
Great little Italian restaurant located in Nob Hill. Service was lovely and the food was fabulous. We started with carpaccio that was fresh and light, followed by the squid ink pasta with rock shrimp and final dish was the steak with morels and au jus. We agreed that we could have had second (maybe thirds) if the squid ink pasta. Great little find and I would recommend.
Thank you so much for the wonderful review i really appreciate it cheers Alexis Solomou Proprietor SEVEN HILLS
