Amazing food. Everything the four of us had was exceptional. This restaurant deserves a Michelin star! One of the top 3 restaurants in Chicago.
Nice environment for a business lunch. Highly capable service. Kompachi appetizer was divine. Fried chicken sandwich pretty good. Wish they had more light options for entrees beyond a garden salad and a steak salad. I’ll be back for theater appetizer for sure.
We enjoyed everything about the place, a perfect setting for our 50th wedding anniversary. We are sensitive to noise levels, and were happy that our request for a quiet corner was honored. The high ceilings in what appeared to be a former warehouse helped absorb chatter as the room filled up throughout our dinner. The upbeat, jazzy music in the background also helped mask others' conversations, while adding an energetic urban vibe that created a lively atmosphere. We enjoyed looking at the drop-down sculptures and and the aviary of faux wild birds.
The cuisine was inventive, international, and adventuresome. We ordered a la carte but followed the suggested three course model. Much to our surprise we agreed the two dishes that stood out from all the rest were the 2nd course radiatore--an umami bomb turbo-charged with nouri, and the black rice with blood sausage that accompanied the main course black sea bass. Clearly we are umamists, if that word exisits. A close second was the main course wagyu beef--tenderloin and deboned short rib with two sauces. If one dish was a tad disappointing, it was the grilled octopus with mole. It may just just a matter of personal preference rather than execution, but I thought the dense mole overwhelmed the succulent character of the octopus, which may have been a bit overcooked. Or maybe I have been spoiled by the memory of grilled octopus with lemon and olive oil enjoyed along with the salty breeze from the nearby Mediterranean. Both deserts were memorable, but as usual my wife's choice of the chocolate was deemed superior to the sourdough crepes with scads of fresh berries and a dollop of rich house-made almond ice cream.
Another pleasant surprise was the wine list. While not extensive it had a good selection of both domestic and other New World/Old World selctions a reasonable prices for a restaurant of this quality. I just wish the bottle had been left on the table so I could add to the glasses when we needed it.
Food was fabulous! Ratchet service up a notch and should easily get a Michelin Star.
My third trip to this restaurant and I have enjoyed both food and service. A beautiful setting for dinner or lunch.
Amazing experience! A+
Fantastic overall experience. Some unique and creative takes on several menu items! The oysters were amazing and we wished we could've had more (they ran out)! Venison tartar was incredible! The snail compote spread over toasted sourdough was amazing!
Our serve (Kiwi) was fantastic. Great personality, talkative and engaged with our group of 5. Her assistant (Esmey), was super-fantastic and on point, ensure all meals were delivered on-time and to the right person.
The wine list is not as broad as I would've expected, however, it does possess a nice selection of top wines from all regions around the world.
The decor, vibe and background music all blend perfectly to create a very comfortable, yet upscale environment. We will absolutely return!
Loved it! The ambiance, service, and food were excellent. At one point, I dropped a red beet on my white pants and before I could blink someone was next to me with a fresh napkin and a glass of seltzer water. Amazing!!
Bellemore combines great interior & ambiance, excellent service and great food. All the "not 100% perfect" items are minor and to a large extend a matter of personal taste and preferences.
The service was excellent both on food and wine advice, great ambiance (nice space, good vibe), good wine selection and innovative cuisine. Most of us (party of 4) are foodies and highly critical, so naturally we had a few suggestions for items that could be better:
Most of my dinner companions agreed the food was just a little too much on the salty side. Nothing extremely bad, but we like it a little less salty. I wasn't all that impressed with the cherry heirloom tomatoes. When I order an heirloom tomato appetizer, I usually expect a burst of flavor and typically normal sized heirlooms, not heirloom cherry tomatoes (didn't seem too different than the heirloom cherry tomatoes I buy at Trader Joe's). In the first room (where you enter) the ambiance and noise level was perfect. We were in the 2nd room with good ambiance but a little too noisy to our liking.
It was a perfect evening. Everyone was thoughtful and kind, and the food was outstanding! We loved every moment.
Loved everything about this place. Food was fantastic and fun. The service was extremely attentive and the atmosphere was inviting. I'd highly recommend dining here.
Actually dined at Bellemore on Monday and liked it so much I went back on Wednesday.
I’m in love with Bellemore. There’s no better elevated lunch experience to make your work day better. Of course love the dinner which is special. Best bar tenders and the manager. I mostly have my lunch at the bar if I am by myself and they take really good care of me.
Some of the best flavors in food in the city, wonderful service and ambiance. I try and go there as much as I can.
Loved it. Superb tasting menu in a beautiful setting
Limited menu, not very good at all.
Steak & avocado salad for lunch with a glass of Champagne is a true treat when the sun is peaking over the shoulder vibrantly. Watching the light play over the fish as the bubbles sparkle on the surface brings only joy to mind. Bright acidity, creaminess, chew with a light crunch is exactly what one needs in a light lunch. Exquisite!
Great room, very attentive and knowledgeable staff. The menu was small but offered some very nice options. Everything we ordered was very nicely prepared and presented.
When I created the reservation I'd indicated that this was a special occasion. The staff mention the occasion as soon as we arrive, they brought champagne to the table to acknowledge the occasion and topped the meal off with a nicely presented card signed by all the staff. It was a nice touch.
We just had a delightful time celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary! Every single moment at Bellemore was outstanding. From the moment we walked in to an amazing 5 course tasting menu to the lovely desserts and after dinner drinks made our celebration one to remember. The entire staff even signed a card for us with each signature feeling heartfelt. I highly recommend Bellemore and can not wait to come back!!
unbelievable. Fernando is the best waiter and the support staff were so much fun. I love how they explain everything. the food was a symphony of flavors with nothing overwhelming... just perfect. the tasting menu could not have been more perfect both in flavors and amount. I seriously need to show you more pics, but I'm only allowed 4.
We did the testing menu ($85) and my wife had the accompanying wine flight ($45). Everything was excellent, and the wine pairings were fantastic complements to each dish. We also tried the snails, which was very rich, but excellent. One of the better meals were have had in a while. Pricey, but great for a special occasion...unless you don't mind $300 per dinner and then lucky you!
Our server was fantastic, made great recommendations and easy to talk to.
The food were so good and service were excellent.
Excellent service and surprisingly creative food. The
space is beautifully decorated, but they should turn down the lights and background muzak for evening service to make the ambience less “corporate” as my wife described it.
I met three girlfriends here for a night of catching up, and it could not have been a more perfect evening. We kicked off the night at the bar, and I'm so upset that I cannot recall our bar tender's name, because he is OUTSTANDING, and needs recognition. He set the pace and tone for our entire evening, with his delicious cocktails, expert recommendations, friendly and knowledgeable conversation and delightful personality. My five star review could not have been complete with him. He has a red-hair beard, if that helps. We all loved him. The entire meal and service was flawlessly delivered and we could not have been happier. The ambiance and decor are simply lovely, as well.
Good vibe, had drinks at the bar before hand and the bartender was terrific. Went with the tasting menu and everything was delicious. Our waiter was courteous, attentive and knowledgable. Thank you!
The consistency of quality service and product at Bellemore is amazing
A nice, calm place for a meal or drink if value or a special experience is what you are after. The plates vary from great to average. The service is good and ambience fairly typical of an upscale establishment. For the price I look for more of an experience
Love everything about this restaurant, unique, has its own style and food creations. Interior is amazing and service is outstanding. Highly recommended.
The snails were fantastic! Everything was great- will dine there again soon.
Bellemore is a gorgeous sophisticated space. The service was refined and the food was not only beautiful but beautifully prepared
Food is very personal, so I can only speak for myself and the people I dined with. We found every one of our dishes to just not come together cohesively. It felt like a bunch of ingredients and tastes that just did not complement each other. One the worst was the Cucumbers first course. The Wagyu tri-tips were chewy and the dish as a whole was unremarkable. This has been my second visit to the restaurant with a similar experience. It appears that my palette is just not a fan of this chef. Which is a shame as the restaurant has a wonderful, open ambience with really interesting design touches and the service is attentive.
Food was amazingly beautiful and delicious, service perfect. One of my top go-to places for lunch and dinner
Our meal and service (Fernando!) were outstanding!
Well-refined great food with awesome service. Good for any special occasion or date.
Excellent all around. I cannot wait to return.
Outstanding experience. Food and service is really excellent
We enjoyed the overall experience - Valet parking, great service and the seating environment was nice too. The side of Snails we ordered was probably the best Snails we had. Two pasta dishes (2nd course) were both amazing - Torchio and Radiatore. The Rabbit Meatballs in Torchio and the Crab Radiatore were so delicious. I enjoyed my Wagyu Steak too; the only thing that stopped us from giving fullscore to their food is, for some reason my husband didn't care too much for the Lamb Loin he ordered. Besides that, everything was great and we would like to visit again!
Absolutely delicious food, lovely room, accommodating wait staff. The only downside = very long waits for both beverages and food. It must have been an off night, and they did comp us an app.
