one of my all time favorites. Service this time was a little slow, (only reason for the lack of all stars) but it was because the server was new. The way this business is run---which is extremely professional--I'm willing to bet the next time I come in this particular server will be up among their top servers. I am looking forward to my next visit.
Everything was outstanding. Food and service beyond outstanding. We dine out frequently, locally, Chicago and northwest Michigan. It has been too long of an absence from Gamba and I don’t know why but assuredly we will be back as Gamba has risen to one of our favorite fine dining spots.
Great service, excellent food. This was a great experience.
Excellent little restaurant with phenomenal food. The prices are very fair for fine dining. Our waiter was nice but seemed inexperienced so we had to wait a long time for drinks and didn't get the wonderful oil with tomatoes for dipping or bread. Fortunately his coworkers helped out and got us what we needed. I loved a good glass of Chianti but theirs came with a large amount of sediment in the glass. They told me that is to be expected...ugh. Overall, the food was so delicious so I would go back and order different wine.
Food always fantastic, I had the spinach lasagna and my friend the veal. Outstanding, great food and wonderful service
Food was excellent. Restaurant is beautiful. Service was great. Did not get to the bar but seemed fun and like a place I would come just to get a cocktail
Evening couldn’t have gone better! Our food selections and preparations were excellent. Our waiter, Josh was also great! Attentive but also very aware of our desire to talk and order at a slower pace. Perfect!
We thoroughly enjoyed the ambience as we were able to be seated in a quiet area. The service was excellent and the dinner was superb! I would definitely recommend the restaurant to friends to enjoy either lunch or dinner. Thank you the lovely dining experience!
We loved the intimate atmosphere. Our waiter was efficient, friendly, and interacted with us the perfect amount-not too little or too much. The food was spectacular! The fried crab and ricotta appetizer was crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside. We each ordered steak. The filet was pan-cooked with a sauce which was perfection and the porterhouse, a special for the evening, was grilled and was also outstanding. The creme brulee and hazelnut mousse cake were heavenly!
Family get together.
Best service and food around! I recommend Gamba's to everyone!
Meals are over priced and nothing special about them. You're paying for the ambiance. If that's important to you this is your place. For me, I prefer a meal that wows me. We ordered grilled chicken, A pasta dish, one salad and one ice tea. $85.00 with tip, poor value in my opinion.
A great dining experience at Gamba. The service and food is always excellent. A very quiet and romantic atmosphere.
Beautiful atmosphere. Excellent attention by staff. Martini, Sangria, soup, entree, and dessert were excellent!
The Best evening that you can have.
Delicious food, great mood and ambiance, extremely welcoming and cozy.
delicious food, comfortable seating, excellent service and quiet enough to hold a conversation
This was our first visit to Gamba. Not sure why it took us so long, but we will be back again for sure. Food was amazing, service was awesome. Jeramiah was so great.
Went here for Mother's Day Lunch. The ambiance was great, but the variety of food was disappointing for a buffet of this price. Also very little flexibility as far as gluten free, dairy free, or veg options.
My fiance' and I went for a quick Saturday night dinner. We arrived about 5:45, and were promptly seated. By 6:30, there were no open tables left....get there early or make a reservation!
We ordered 3 appetizers: Oysters, Buffalo Mozzarella, and the soup special, which was a dill potato leek.
They arrived quickly. The oysters were fresh and tasty. The soup was absolutely AMAZING. I wanted to go into the kitchen and high-five the chef....it was that good. The Buffalo Mozz was just a Caprese salad with 3 small slices of hard, tasteless tomatoes topped with cheese, olive oil, and avocado. For $17 dollars, I felt like this was a ripoff. I get that tomatoes aren't in season in the Midwest in early May, but if you can't source good ones, take it off the menu until summer.
The service was noticably slower after our apps...as the restaurant had filled up. I ordered a Grouper special and my fiance ordered a spicy sausage rigatoni.
The grouper was moist, flaky, and cooked perfectly. It was swimming in a caper sauce that was a bit off....it was a mushy, green, chunky, loose paste. It looked a tad gross, but had a decent flavor. It would have probably worked better as a light garnish on top of the fish, instead.
The sausage rigatoni was as expected.
Overall, it was a pleasant meal and a positive experience. Would def go back again.
Best restaurant in Northwest Indiana!
From the management through the service staff; and from the chef to the table setting, this isthe absolute best restaurant I have ever been in.
Had the table in the wine room which was perfect! Delicious and beautiful desserts made by the pastry chef Elizabeth that were amazing!
Visited for the Easter Buffet... It wasn’t a huge buffet. I would have loved a salad bar. But, the items on the buffet were all very well executed. Nicely prepared prime rib, stuffed turkey breast and to die for tortellini. Stuffed croissant French toast was a little loose but the flavors were definitely there. The cost was too high for the selections available —$35-$38.95 would have been more appropriate.
Food was excellent, my pork tenderloin was cooked perfectly, we shared a buccatini amatriciana and it was excellent. Bread was the way I love it---crusty and not doughy. Waiter was attentive without hovering. This was the fourth time I've eaten at Gambas and every time has been excellent. Highly recommend it.
This is a place I have visited often and is my "go to" place for that special meal with special friends. I have NEVER been disappointed and have ALWAYS been impressed with the chief's preparation and the waiter's presentation. The wine list is not as comprehensive as it once was, but it is still has an adequate spectrum to accommodate meal choice as well as price range. The specialty cocktails are outstanding.
Excellent as always. Great food, service and atmosphere.
Had the best lasagna I’ve ever had. Courses were paced right, service was great, ambiance was wonderful
Great experience at Gamba. Food was awesome. Our server Josh was really great, will request him every time we are there.
The food was good, the service was EXCELLENT!!! Josh was our waiter, if you want a extremely professional dining experience, ask for Josh to be your waiter and sit back and enjoy, you’ll definitely have a delightful evening.
Excellent soup to nuts and service was excellent as usual.
Always a pleasant dinner, excellent food.
Everything was par excellence! The owners' integrity is evident in their commitment to providing an exceptional dining experience with an unparalleled attention to quality and detail. We are grateful!
Nicky was our service he forgot about our table through the evening also we paid for the meal left and he followed us to our car and said we took his copies of the receipts when they were in his pocket . Worst service ever
I can’t remember what it was called but it was the wing of a Manta Ray and it was phenomenal!
Everything was just as delicious and amazing as always.
The food is amazing and the service is great. The owner always makes sure your experience is excellent.
the best restaurant in the region by far, love going
Early Valentine’s dinner. Impeccable food and service, as always.
My husband and I went for an early Valentines dinner on a Tuesday evening. We were greeted and sat quickly, met by a knowledgeable and friendly waiter, Josh. The food and service were both AMAZING. We started with the roasted Brussels sprouts... delicious! My husband had the N.Y. strip, which was served with mashed red potatoes and green beans. I had the short rib ravioli. I can’t even say which was better. Get both. We finished dinner with their house made Creme brûlée. We can’t wait to come back to try other items. Nothing negative to say about the whole experience! We will be back!
