Simply superb. Everything from the wonderful check in staff who graciously accommodated our reservation timing snafu, to the enthusiastic and knowledgeable wait staff, to the perfectly prepared, incredible modern take on middle Eastern staples, was above and beyond. It is easy to see why Bavel is so incredibly popular.
Had to wait 1/2 hour for our reserved table. Lamb neck and oyster mushrooms were delicious. Extremely noisy.

Amazing food. You still have to wait a bit even with a reservation sometimes and that's not awesome but they try their best. Service is good. Wish the outside matched the inside decor-wise.

Half the heels of their hit restaurant, Bestia, the chefs take their crack at Middle Eastern cuisine. This is a over priced version of middle eastern cuisine.
We ordered an assortment of small apps and an entree to share.
The hummus was good. There were two different kinds of hummus on a plate and a couple of dollops of some spicy mixture. The problem with hummus is that the two pitas they served is not enough to consume the whole plate.
Be a little gem lettuce salad was tasty.
The lamb sausage pizza was really disappointing.
The highlight of the meal was the oyster mushroom kebab. Flavorful and meaty mushrooms.
The lamb neck schwarma was fatty. This was my perhaps or third favorite dish in of the night. It would’ve been helpful if the flatbed underneath it was her next to it so it wasn’t mushy from the juices of the lamb neck.
There are three hiccups with the service. We were sat at a table where the setting sun was blinding. Fortunately out that only lasted for 10 to 15 minutes. The second hiccup is that we were sat and it took a while for anyone to approach the table to take our order or welcome us. He was excellent and gave feedback to my dad. The last hiccup was the lack of silverware for the community dishes.
I ordered the mulberry ice cream creamy and delicious.

I wasn’t sure i was getting myself into. At first i didn’t know it was a restaurant yet, I’d pass by the building almost everyday. It wasn’t until i began looking for places to take my girlfriend is when Bavel spontaneously came up. It was magical; the experience was amazing. My girlfriend really enjoyed herself and the evening that followed suit was amazing. The food was on point, the service was beyond amazing and made us speechless. Ambiance and decor inside was astoundingly elegant and beautiful. It was just right how it unfolded. Definitely will be coming back soon.
The host was very accommodating. We had reserved counter seating and asked if we can try outside seating instead. It was a bit chilly so we asked if we can have our original seats back and they were very helpful. It was nice experience to sit at the counter, we enjoyed watching the chefs in action. The service was wonderful our waiter was very attentive. Food was an amazing experience. We tried a variety of dishes including the ages duck, which was my personal favorite. We are definitely going back.
The entire experience was fantastic. The food was on point. All the rave reviews we’ve heard are true! Would definitely return! Excellent!

Went again for a dual birthday dinner tonight 8/10/19 and the service and food was once again top notch. Thank you esp to Blair our server and his very very sweet partner/buster tonight and a special shout out to the hostess Carina. She’s helped me before and I can’t say enough good things about her. She is able to deal with the crush of ppl trying to get in and she does it with a smile, with kindness and a twinkle in her eye. Thank you!

Everything we had was prepared with thought and intention and was delicious too! Service was top notch.
Very bad acoustics. Bread served with both hummus and cheese was super greasy. Prawns have a lot of hard to remove shell — unless you’re supposed to eat it. Smoked wagu beef was mediocre at best: a complete rip off at almost $200. The best restaurant in LA? Hah. Hardly. It’s a bad sign when the best part of the multi course meal was the hummus — but not the buttery, greasy pita that came with it.
The food was very good but the service was rushed.

Crazy and chaotic entrance, it took the restaurant more then 30 minutes to seat us, other people who arrived later had their table before us. We were given complementary hummus and bread, nice gesture. The food was amazing, really very tasty and rich in flavours. Why is the music so loud?? Overall, delicious food.
Bavel is another grand slam from the team behind one of my favorite restaurants, Bestia, every dish was beyond delicious. We had the duck n'djia hummus, farmers cheese, octopus, cauliflower, oyster mushrooms and lamb neck shwarma. We have to go back since they didn't have the duck on the entree menu and everyone has told me that is a must have! Go as quickly as you can!!!
It was amazingly delicious. Just too loud. Couldn’t hear my dinner guests. I’ll be back just the same.

Great meal with excellent service and a sommelier who knew his wine list. The lamb shawarma and the cauliflower are must orders.

Fun, small plate concept. Food was well prepared and excellent for sharing. We dined here two months ago....it was really good....but this time, it was outstanding. Hummus, Babaghanoush, mushroom skewers, cauliflower, dorade, lamb neck shawarma, and peach cobbler were major hits of the evening.
Was recommended “everything” by friends, when asking what to order. Not only was everything we ordered good, but the service staff, ambience, and space was a absolutely incredible. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for, amazing experience <3

Amazing food and service.
Food was not as expected. We have had much tastier liver, scallops, lamb neck and donut from elsewhere. Only mushroom was excellent. Service and decoration were both wonderful.
Really enjoyed all most of the dishes here. Must try’s are the chicken liver pate (much like their sister location Bestia this is a MUST). The farm cheese was pretty good as well but has a milder taste than the pate. The duck hummus was OK...would pass on that next time. Was really excited to try their octopus as listed on the OT menu but they didn’t have it. Tried the grilled prawns - very nicely charred with a spiced but not spicey flavor. Tried the scallops - only two scallops, not worth the price IMO. Ordered the duck schwerma - really tastey but the biggest dish we ordered so perfect for sharing. The fish was also great but would pass on this if you don’t know how to properly de-bone ( a lot of small bones). All in all loved it but prefer their sister restaurant Bestia still as my favorite over Bavel.
Our absolutely favorite restaurant in LA. Always a new seasonal dish - do not miss the peach cobbler no matter how full you are - that are delightful along with the favorites of humus, shrimp, oyster mushrooms.

This is the second time we came to Bavel and the food was once again outstanding. Like the first time we had the prawns and mushrooms and they were once again our favorites. We also tried the chicken liver pate and lamb porterhouse. These were both excellent dishes as well. The service was once again tightly run. Everyone seems involved in making sure everything runs smoothly as possible. My new favorite restaurant and I can’t wait to go back.
