Halibut was one of the specials at a cost of $50. All four of us had the halibut. All four dishes had either cold halibut or raw halibut. Been to RR several times before and have always been happy with the food. This was a big disappointment.

Second time here after enjoying our evening last night. We are not local so eating great food while its available. The location on the river can't be beat. Cocktails and food are top notch. Service is a little wonky on the patio. Nice servers but timing is off with cocktails, entrees, etc. We will definitely dine here again when in the area.

River Ranch is so good. We are going back tonight. I would have the same thing which was the rigatoni with sausage, but it is mostly vegetables short perfectly cut My husband has the brussels sprouts and the soup which he couldn’t get himself to share any with me. I asked for a whiskey sour smoky, which was not on their cocktail list and they made the most perfect one ever Service was a little off We got our entrée before our red wine bottle was opened And the bill before we got our desert delivered We rolled with it. Hopefully tonight will be better.

Beautiful outdoor setting along TRUCKEE River, perfect for special sunset dinner celebration & and unwinding time, super friendly staff and knowledgeable re: food sources, wide menu range, great quality food…wonderful dinner experience!

Of the three restaurants we ate at on the west shore of Lake Tahoe, this was our favorite because the food was so tasty. And hubby was very happy he could get draft Guinness here. The short ribs, brussels sprouts, and soup of the day chicken poblano were outstanding. Service was outstanding although we did arrive early at 5:30pm. And we had a table next to the river - very lovely and different.

We are returning customers because the food and service are excellent, and the location and a view of the Truckee River are outstanding. We eat inside versus out on the deck, so I can only share my indoor experience. It's quiet and easy to talk with one another even with the large screen televisions in the nearby bar area. Our waitress remembered us and even recalled I was going to travel to Steamboat, CO. We could taste two wines before purchasing a bottle, which is always a bonus in my book. It's hard to spend money on a wine you have never heard of, and most of their wines are unique and tasty. We appreciated our meals, as always. It's a go-to dinner spot for our family when we're vacationing in Tahoe City.

Great place with a rustic look. The server was great and added to the dining experience. The food was very good and the menu offered a great variety of options. We will be back.

The patio setting was great, service hit and miss, food so-so. my mahi-mahi was chewy and underseasoned, mashed potatoes dense. presentation was nice, but taste is what matters, especially at these prices.
